ghostly stories

Ghostly’s and Flux’s kids but as adults!

Belle (one on the left) will inherit Flux’s hive when she becomes of age and succeed him as Queen when he retires. She gets the throne because she is the oldest but also because she is more changeling than her siblings. Able to shape shift just as well as any pure changeling and thus able to successfully create a link with her bug subjects; something her siblings can’t do. Like her father, she prefers an earthpony disguise. Her cutie mark is earned, like a regular pony, and represents her talent for music. Singing in particular, but she has a natural knack for almost all intruments.

Sugar (the one in the center) unfortunately becomes a lot like her dad as she grows older. A bitter sass master to everyone, except unlike her father she never gets that one person that becomes her soft spot. She is equal amounts of changeling and wendigo and because of this both traits cancel out and she is the only ‘normal’ pony in the family. She encounters someone later in her life to turn her into a vampire. She’s always hated how she was the only normal pony, so she considers vampirism a literal gift. Her cutie mark is a spiderweb stained with blood, it showcases her talent with the dead. As in, she can tell how a person died and when especially so with violent deaths; she’ll be a good detective. For obvious reasons, she earns her mark in her late teens–extremely late for most ponies.

Icey (one on the right) is the polar opposite of Belle, and is more wendigo than changeling. He can shift similarly to how Ghostly can and can control ice and snow on will as well. As a child and teen he can hardly control his wendigo side and because of this he’ll be a very angry kid. He calms down as he becomes an adult, especially so when he isolates himself for a few years to actually learn how to control his icey side. And even more so when he marries. His cutie mark is an anvil with a (poorly drawn) snowflake above it. It represents his skill with a forge. While ponies may not need swords or steel created by a blacksmith anymore, it’s still required with some things. Things made by him tend to last longer than when manufactured by a factory, as well. He will probably be the go-to blacksmith for Guards’ armor.

“Flying Dutchman”
Oil on canvas

The Flying Dutchman is a legendary ghost ship that can never make port and is doomed to sail the oceans forever. The myth is likely to have originated from 17th century nautical folklore, with the oldest extant version being dated to the late 18th century. Sightings in the 19th and 20th centuries reported the ship to be glowing with ghostly light. If hailed by another ship, the crew of the Flying Dutchman will try to send messages to land, or to people long dead. In ocean lore, the sight of this phantom ship is a portent of doom.

When Rhaegar won, everyone cheered for their prince. I remember the girls laughing when he took off his helmet, and they saw that silver hair. How handsome he was. Until he rode right past his wife, Elia Martell, and all the smiles died. I’ve never seen so many people so quiet. He rode past his wife, and he lay a crown of winter roses in Lyanna’s lap. Blue as frost. How many tens of thousands had to die because Rhaegar chose your aunt?

Lately I’ve been trying to buy less, borrow from the library more, but I saw this while I was returning textbooks today and it hit every single one of my weak points: it’s creepy, a short story collection, it’s illustrated and introduced by Audrey Niffenegger, and it has stories by Neil Gaiman and A.S. Byatt.

Happy end of the semester to me.

“Of course, I’m simplifying the whole thing. But that’s pretty much what happened! Obviously after this, Flux decided to strike it out on his own, in terms of hives. His old one was pretty abusive. I wouldn’t be surprised if a few other members followed him out.”
Sorry if it’s a little hard to read, let me know and I’ll type out her whole dialog in an edit. And sorry it’s not digital, no tablet. But you deserved what I had of the second half of her story.

Part 1

The Vanderbilt Tomb - Staten Island

Built between 1885 and 1886, this stately mausoleum was designed in the Romanesque style by architect Richard Morris Hunt and was commissioned by William Vanderbilt, son of Cornelius, the man known at one time as one of the richest men in America.  The Vanderbilts donated several acres of land to the Moravian Cemetery where the tomb was constructed and it holds only eight of the Vanderbilt family members despite being three stories tall and taking up quite a bit of space.

Although it is not currently open to the public, being situated upon private property off the public cemetery, several people have managed to experiment with the curious legends that surround the tomb.  As the tales go, if one is to take a picture in front of the mausoleum, whomever was meant to be in the photo will mysteriously vanish from it after it is developed.  Not only this, but sometimes people appear in the photograph who were never present.

Other ghostly tales include the story of a woman who was fatally killed in an accident on the property whose spirit wanders around as a vague light.  Some have even made the assertion that they have been chased away from the property by a man in a suit that they assume had to have been Cornelius Vanderbilt himself as he seems to vanish into thin air without notice.

CS watching a scary movie... sorry if someone already sent this lmao

This had become their usual friday night. A home cooked meal followed by junk snacks in the living room and whatever was on the television. Henry would bid them goodnight at around 10pm and they’d snuggle for a couple of hours more before heading to bed themselves.

Tonight was no different. Henry had told them of his plans to meet his other mother for breakfast in the morning, before making his way upstairs for the night; probably to spend some time on his phone with violet.

“Ooh! Insidious is on in ten minutes. I’ve been dying to see that.” Emma informed him as she browsed the channels.

“What’s that one about?”

“It’s a scary movie. Paranormal stuff.”

Killian nodded and make a quick attempt at clearing away the mess that had accumulated throughout the night before the film started.

He would never understand the appeal of watching something with the sole purpose of becoming frightened. It wasn’t exactly the sort of thrill he would choose to seek, but Emma seemed to enjoy the ghostly story before them.

Being from the Enchanted forest, and having centuries of touring all lands imaginable, Killian wasn’t as shocked or surprised by the goings on playing out on screen. He could admit that it was rather enticing at times, and judging by the way Emma’s hold on his arm tightened at intense moments, she felt the same.

“That was so good.” She gushed as the credits rolled.

“Aye. That one was rather interesting, i’ll admit.”

The TV was switched off, lights were extinguished and doors double checked before they were heading to the confines of their bed for the night.

His eyes snapped open and spun to the clock beside their bed.

1:14am.

He was about to turn and attempt to go bac to sleep when the sounds of clinking and thudding from inside the house had him snapping his head towards the door.

His heart began to race against his better wishes and he was climbing out of bed and sneaking towards the door, grabbing his sword as he went.

“What’re you doing?” Emma’s sleepy voice startled him.

“There’s something downstairs.” he whispered, causing her to sit up alert.

“Who would be stupid enough to break into the sheriff’s house?!”

“No one, love. And I didn’t say they broke in, or that they were human.”

Killian couldn’t help the superstition or paranoia within him. No one would dare try to rob this house, he was certain of that. Which meant it clearly must be something otherworldly downstairs.

They both creeped out the door and tiptoed their way down the darkened stairs where the sounds became louder.

Both their hearts were racing, blood pumping with adrenaline.

They rounded the stairs and entered the kitchen where three screams tore through the darkness of the house.

“It’s me!”

Emma and Killian both sagged in relief as they eyed the teenager with a sandwich in his hands.

“Henry! It’s the middle of the night- what are you doing sneaking around?!”

“I got hungry! And why are you two so spooked? You’re usually fast asleep when i get a midnight snack.”

Emma and Killian looked at each other embarrassed.

“Perhaps we should leave the scary movies off the list before bedtime, love.”

Henry’s giggles followed him back to his room.

Ghostly touch

Couldn’t help myself on this one. I was feeling inspired to write a story instead of getting some sleep lol. And this is how I ended up writing a Ghostly boyfriend story! Also another plus size story!

Warnings: Smut..like yesss ghost dick. Blood/Biting, a little bit of necessary roughness, and some slight doubt (from the reader) about her appearance to him, also some size difference mentions

You always wondered what it’d be like in the embrace of a spirit, as in a ghost, and now was your time to find out.

Shortly after you moved into your small house, in the not so friendly district of town you knew it was haunted. Your items were constantly moving and never in the right place, unless you really needed them they happened to be placed right in front of you. It never showed itself to you and you were at peace with that, both of you comfortable in the space you more or less had to share. You knew it was a male since the soft whisper that would sometimes startle you was very masculine sounding, and your mind wandered. Naturally when you had your…human urges to deal with you told him to leave you be so you could do what was necessary for a good night’s sleep. Plus you didn’t really get any action so you didn’t have much choice. It’s not that you were hideous just not what the typical male hungered for. You had wider hips, and a soft round tummy that gently hung from your middle. Everything else about you was average, cup size/hair/skin, so you assumed it was your shape that turned people away from you. It was okay sometimes, because you reassured yourself that it kept the people who weren’t worthy of your love away.
