There was some amazing work at the Abu Dhabi Art exhibition this year. 🎨 This piece is ‘Portrait of Girl on white’ by Ghada Amer, and there’s a repeating sentence in the work saying, ‘I am just a person trapped inside a woman’s body’. Now that’s some food for thought 💭 #AbuDhabiArt #GhadaAmer #art
The above sculpture is titled The Heart. It’s by Ghada Amer and it will be at The Armory Show this week. I’ll post some pictures later tonight that I took at the foundry while it was in production. Can’t wait to see the finished product in person!

Okay one more from Art Basel. My favorite gal, Ghada Amer! The red sculpture is titled The Heart, the silver is Blue Bra Girls and the gold one is Baiser. The paintings in the background are The Joy of Painting and Kissing and The Sun is Sinking in the West.
The name of this piece is based on a terrible occurrence that happened in Tahrir Square in 2011 during a political demonstration. The Egyptian military beat a women senseless, dragging her on the ground and exposing her blue bra. She has become somewhat of an iconic hero for her bravery. If you want to see footage of the event click here. Please be warned it’s not for the faint of heart.
