Jayceesquats was a cheerleader with some tremendous strength potential but was fighting against her own body image and genetics. Taking up heavy lifting set her on a path she was always destined for.

She has a 400+ lbs. squat so far and her lower body development has become insane.

1) Embrace your body’s potential strength, encourage it and work with it instead of fighting against it. The results will amaze you.

1) If you want to truly thicken up then lift HEAVY and work hard. It will happen with time.

jayceesquats There was a point in my life when I shamed my body and absolutely detested my lower body, particularly my legs. A few years back I tried everything from seran wrapping them to running my ass off in hopes that my legs could fit in Abercrombie jeans- in hopes that I could get rid of my thighs so I could finally be a flyer on my cheerleading team. The idea of wearing shorts or dresses fucked with my head and reduced my confidence to nothing. Nowadays, I adore and appreciate my strong, powerful legs. The once insecure, little girl with thunder thighs, took every fiber of muscle and metamorphasized it into raw strength. She looks at her body now and values the painstaking effort and energy that has transformed her mind body and soul. This body has endless potential, these legs have valued purpose, my mind is the pilot.

Push thru @solomonestretch last night we had a session a great therapy and workout session. It’s amazing to keep up intensity and get into the mental understanding of those you respect!!! We went intensely on legs when I was hungry and a bit tired. And @solomonestretch was tired and finishing a long day. But WE FOUND THE TIME TO GO AFTER WHAT WE WANT!!!! There is always time to do things u want/need, but you MUST MAKE TIME FOR IT. @_emilyfitt was all about cardio and less calories two years ago.

Now she’s all about lifting HEAVY and eating ALL the carbs.

Now she’s all about gains.

Now she’s all about growing.

Now she’s all about thickness.

And she keeps gettin’ BIGGER.

@_emilyfitt  Left: before lifting when I was struggling pretty hard with body image. I thought that in order to feel good about myself, I had to restrict my eating and run several miles a day. I was so unhappy with myself and so determined to be “skinny” because I thought it would make me happy. I even got to the point that I would purge just about every night after dinner because I thought that feeling empty meant that I was that much closer to reaching my goals. All it did was make me miserable and make me constantly think about food. On the right: about 2 years into lifting heavy and consistently, and ENJOYING food. I couldn’t be more happy with the progress I’ve made. I can’t say that every day is perfect and that I don’t think about my old habits but it reminds me just how far I’ve come. This lifestyle has truly allowed me to find balance and happiness with myself and I wouldn’t change it for the world. If you’re struggling with body image or any ED, it really DOES get better but you have to be willing to make the change and believe that you can.
