You forgive most of the character flaws and the conveniency of the plot partially because it is a Disney film, but in Sleeping Beauty’s case, it is forgiven mostly for being one of the most beautiful animated films ever, and now after rewatching this about 15 years after my last viewing, I have a better understanding as to why Maleficent would get her own spinoff film over 50 years later.
