This was a remake of an undated painting called “The Chat,” which is immeasurably inferior due to its lack of a hippocampus statue.
I like to imagine this painting is the beginning of a horror story. The bracelet is just the artifact needed to free the horse from its imprisonment. The last man who knew the words to turn it to stone is long dead. Nothing will stop it this time.
