Christopher Columbus hails from Genoa, the largest port in Italy. This is a wonderful seaside city with a rich history, architecture and a modern enough infrastructure to handle its growth. It is a city worth visiting (and the ultra charming village of Portofino is a short distance away). Enjoy some of its architecture…the beautiful round building in the last picture was its Stock Exchange. Note the columns arching over the sidewalks. Great shopping district in any weather!
