|Alright alright alright, this chapter absolutely sucks and I hate it but I don’t know how to fix it. The more I look into this fanfic the more I feel like it just seems stupid and fjehdisshk I don’t know if I should continue. I feel like I’m getting completely out of character at this point. So I’m sorry if it’s not good.|
Death wiped away his few tears he had and cursed himself for letting something like that get to him before teleporting to his own home.
Geno was standing on the pure white snow below him looking at where the reaper once was. He probably should’ve thought this out first. He began pacing back and fourth, his breath misty in the cold and snowy air. The beautiful snow crunched below his feet.
Wait.. The snow! Geno face palmed. This was Snowdin, just in a different universe! So, if he could remember the area correctly, he’d be able to navigate his way to “his” home, well it’d be Death’s but, it’s where his home was.
He glanced around and saw the environment. There were the same shaped buildings and in the same places but many looked either abandoned or for a different use. He still knew this is where Grillby’s was in his universe.
Geno stuffed his hands in the white jacket pocket as he strolled along.
There were pedestrians walking among him yet they were all acting strange. Some shielded their eyes, all kept a far distance
“What happened to him? Why does he look so different?” said a lady to what seemed to be her husband.
“He looks even worse than before!” the male replied.
Many whispers and talking could be heard and the monsters would turn their heads occasionally to catch a glance at Geno. One however, stood out to him.
“The God of Death seems much less scarier than before! I heard that if you look at him he’ll kill you the next day and reap your soul!” one kid said to the other while putting emphasis on the ‘L’ as if they were saying an eerie campfire story.
“My mother got so close to him just so she could say how evil and disgusting he was and threatened to hurt him if he came close to us! She’s so cool!” the little kids giggled together and continued to speak to one another.
Geno felt pity for the God and slowly began to understand why he’d do this to himself. He couldn’t leave him alone, knowing Death was full of lies when they spoke of that. Geno refused to have him hurt. No matter what, he’d do his best to protect him. After all..
He really did love him..
He was able to retaliate where his former home used to be and began walking towards the direction of it.
Around five minutes later he came across the house. The snow leaving footprints behind. He felt a wave of emotions. It looked just like how he’d remembered.
The bleeding skeleton then knocked on the door softly, multiple times but no response. He grew a little worried and felt his soul best faster.
He rested his skull on the door in hopes to hear anything, and he was right. He heard mumbling he knew was coming from the God himself. He seemed to be on the phone.
The thick door blocked out much of the sound and it was very muffled, but Geno was able to hear something along the lines of, “…Alright, alright, uhhhh…” his words sounded slurred and he seemed to be losing his train of thought quite easily. “Y-Yeah, I uhh.. Yeah, sure. Tomorrows uh fine.” Geno could hear a little hiccup or something along those lines.
He awaited for more but then it was silent. He decided to try and get a peak of Death, just to see what he was doing. He went around the corner of the home to the window, exactly where it had been previously in his own universe.
“Should I really be doing this?” he asked to himself. “I’m invading his privacy.. This feels wrong. Well, it’s not like he hasn’t done the same. So I think I should be able to, just this once. But then again, why should I be stoopin’ down to that level? Well, I just want to make sure Death is fine. That’s it. Yeah, nothin’ more.” He blushed and his face was tinted a light blue around his cheekbones.
As he continued to debate with himself all his thoughts were cut short once he glanced into the window. His fractured soul seemed to break into an even smaller piece than it already was.
He began to panic and breathe heavily. He sprinted back to the front of the house and pushed all of his weight into the door, calling Death as loud as he could. He grunted with each push yet continued anyway. This couldn’t be happening.. Why? Tears streamed down his face. Once he rammed the door down he was finally able to get a closer look.
Bone marrow trickled down the Reaper’s arm, slashes and pieces of bone on the ground and a sharpe blade in his hand. What was even worse is that Geno had seen an alcoholic bottle sitting closely to him, almost completely empty. There’s no way he could’ve finished that in one sitting..
Geno stood there in shock for a few moments, Reaper had known Geno’s presence as soon as he started knocking the door down, but he was too upset an drunk to even think about it. His back was facing Geno as he slowly cradled his own arm.
Death slowly turned his head towards Geno. When Geno saw his face he could barely believe it and gasped. He looked completely emotionless except for the fact of looking so worn out and tired. He stared ahead of Geno, he must’ve drank a lot of that bottle. How could he have done all this in such a short amount of time?
Death then chuckled, but again, it was so lifeless.. So creepy. “H-holy shit D-DEATH!!” he cried out.
There are rumours floating around that a new Paper Mario for the Wii U is in development. I started joking about it and then that turned into me giving my own ideas and wishes…. Then I got super carried away and this drawing happened. I guess I’d want a mishmash of every Mario RPG.
Also yes that is a boxer Daisy with Banzai Bill boxing gloves.
