general kozmotis

…though I love monsters and oogie-boogies, I cannot not love this song. It’s so sweet and lovely.
I can imagine general Kozmotis Pitchiner singing it to his daughter before she goes to bed.
And it’s so sad, thinking that he will become the Boogieman himself.

There’s a monster that lives ‘neath your bed,
for crying out loud it’s a futon on the floor, he must be flat as a board.

There’s a creature that lurks behind the door,
though I’ve checked there 15 times  when I leave then he arrives
every night.

Tell the monster that lives ‘neath your bed
to go somewhere else instead or you’ll kick him in the head.

Tell the creature that lurks behind the door
if he knows what’s good he won’t come here no more
cause you’ll kick in his butt at the count of four.

Goodnight demon slayer, goodnight,
Now it’s time to close your tired eyes.
There are devils to slay and dragons to ride,
if they see you coming, hell they better hide.

Goodnight, goodnight, goodnight.
Goodnight my little slayer goodnight.

Tell the monster that eats children, that you taste bad
and you’re sure you’d be the worst he’s ever had.
If he eats you, don’t you fret, just cut him open with an axe.
Don’t regret it, he deserved it, he’s a cad.

Tell the harpies that land on your bed post
that at the count of five you’ll roast them alive.

Tell the devil it’s time you gave him his due,
he should go back to hell, he should shake in his shoes,
cause the mightiest, scariest, creature is you.

Goodnight demon slayer, goodnight.
Now it’s time to close your tired eyes.
There’s devils to slay and dragons to ride,
if they see you coming, hell they better hide.

Goodnight, goodnight, goodnight.
Goodnight my little slayer goodnight.

I won’t tell you, there’s nothing ‘neath your bed.
I won’t sell you, that it’s all in your head.
This world of ours is not as it seems,
the monsters are real but they’re not in your dreams,
learn what you can from the beasts you defeat,
you’ll need it for some of the people you meet.

Goodnight demon slayer, goodnight.
Now its time to close your tired eyes,
there are devils to slay and dragons to ride,
if they see you coming, hell they better hide.

Goodnight, goodnight, goodnight.
Goodnight my little slayer goodnight.

Goodnight, goodnight, goodnight,
Goodnight.

Song: In All My Dreams I Drown from The Devil’s Carnival

Kozmotis was in complete unease. His crew had been urging him to rest, but he just couldn’t. For many reasons, he had to stay awake. He had to steer and command his ship, he had to keep on course, he couldn’t be faced by..
No, fearing about that and even thinking about that thing that claimed to be him but not him would draw the shadows deeper to him. Closer and deeper and constrict and-
Don’t think about it.
He pressed forward, and continued to go though the large map. In his pursuit to ignore, the figure drew closer. Kozmotis’ anxiety briefly hitched as a shadow visibly slipped over the map. The figure picked up on it and ran a hand through Kozmotis’ hair before practically throwing him away from the desk.
There it was. There was the fear he was trying to ignore at it was strong.
As the General got to his feet, the figure stood.
God it even looked like him.
He was so tired, and he was so on edge and he saw that thing grin at him.
The thing’s voice was sicking as it whispered into his ears of all his failures, of all the things he has missed, of all the things to come,
Of all his deepest fears.
Though it all, Kozmotis couldn’t take another moment. He’d crawled into his cot, and practically passed out when the shadows drew over him.
His sleep was nothing but peaceful and he tossed, he turned, he wanted to scream.

Pitch woke up with a start. I’d been rare for him to sleep, and when he did it was just a peaceful void and not..Whatever that was.
He couldn’t help but feel something though.
Something watching..
Something grinning.
