At last!!! I’ve conquered one of my numerous fears, the NEEDLES! That excruciating pain we have to endure while it penetrates our skin. For me, it’s similar to “Cruciatus Curse”, with no magic or whatsoever! Waaaaaahhh!!!
Ever since I was a silly little kid, I really dig tattoos. I always put those temporary tattoos for children (the one with clear plastic coating that you peel away then voila! You got a cute kiddie tattoo), also the temporary-tattoo-with-a-touch-of-alcohol-magic (yeah, you know that). But when I found out that a real tattoo was a bloody painful thang, I felt sad ‘coz I might not get a permanent one when I grew up, I am (was?hehe) so afraid of needles. I hate them. I even hated hospitals/doctors for that.
But I still attempted to create my own tattoo. I was told by my grade school classmate that you just have to inflict a wound in your skin and when that wound heals, there it is! A freaking ugly scab! Hahaha! I’m just glad the wound left my skin in no time. I was young and stupid and slightly-daredevil hehehe…
Fast forward. My original plan was – to get a tattoo on my 27th birthday, but I got scared haha! So I conditioned my mind and body for 9 long months. I have 2 tatt designs in my mind, (actually I have 3, I made an ambigram of my surname years ago, but I couldn’t find the draft, so I only have 2 choices left) the first one was a red flare of Darth Vader and the other one was the psychedelic art of John Lennon. As for my chosen tattoo artist, I did some internet research. If you have read the title of this post, you know for sure what I’ve chosen for my tattoo design :)
Ouch!!! Waaaaaaahhhh!!! It hurts like hell!!! Hehehe.. Just kidding. When the needle touched my skin, I thought I was going to jump off my seat, or cry in agony, or scream my heart, lungs and intestines out, or worst of all, I’ll die in an instant. It just felt like a bite of an ant (that’s what they say about needles, right?), and it really did! But the pain is f*ck*ng real, I just did some mind-over-matter-techniques to forget the pain. And overthinking helps a lot. Prior to this occasion, I imagined different types of pain in a very exaggerated manner. That made things easier.

“Hey Jude, don’t make it bad, take a sad song and make it better. Remember, to let her (HIM) under your skin, then you’ll begin to make it better, better, better, better, better, oh. Na na na na na na na na na na, hey jude…”
