We’ve got a standing brunch date with dublab every Sunday at Ace Hotel Downtown LA — they spin records, we sunbathe on the roof. It’s not a bad arrangement.
Last weekend they took us on a trip down the autobahn to celebrate the release of Krautrock Classics — the new comp they’ve put together from a stellar show they hosted a couple Summers ago — with DJ sets Upstairs by Jimmy Tamborello, M. Geddes Gengras, Suzanne Kraft, Nanny Cantaloupe and Carlos Niño.
They also set us up with the exclusive on this beautiful track from the comp — Carlos Niño and Friends covering Popol Vuh’s epic “Steh Auf, Zieh Mich Der Nach.” Now it’s all yours.
Taking place within a breathtaking urban laboratory in Arizona’s high desert and curated by pop experimentalists Hundred Waters, last weekend’s FORM Arcosanti festival featured acts such as How to Dress Well, Julianna Barwick, the Antlers, Pharmakon, Skrillex, M. Geddes Gengras, and more.
Photographer tonjethilesenphoto was there to capture portraits of the performers and the surreal environment. View the full gallery here.
