A LITTLE STORY

OH MY GOD OKAY SO AT MY CAMP WE HAVE THIS THING CALLED GBCR (Glen Bernard Council Ring) TO EDUCATE PEOPLE ON INDIGENOUS PEOPLES TRADITIONS AND TO RAISE AWARENESS OF THEIR STRUGGLES AND MY AGE GROUP DID THIS THING ABOUT APPROPRIATION SO WE WERE TALKING ABOUT SPORTS TEAMS CALLED THE INDIANS AND THE REDSKINS (two American teams) AND HOW SLANDEROUS AND OFFENSIVE THEY WERE AND HOW THEY REFUSED TO CHANGE THEIR NAMES, AND THEN ABOUT APPROPRIATING HEAD DRESSES THAT PEOPLE WEAR FOR “”“"FASHION”“”“ AND HOW COACHELLA AND WOODSTOCK HAVEN’T BANNED THEM BUT MAINSTREAM MUSIC FESTIVALS IN CANADA HAVE AND ONE OF THE AMERICANS WERE LIKE "DAMN CAN YOU STOP ROASTING US FOR A SECOND” AND I COULDNT STOP LAUGHING

Playing through Link’s awakening again and… whew… every time dude, the melancholic uncertainty in the atmosphere of the Face Shrine. The existentialism in it too. It really gets to me every time, and I feel the melancholy of it all and how I just want to isolate myself and cry but I don’t know why.
It’s a Gameboy game from 1993, a fairly lighthearted one, but this area sticks out… it really plucks at the threads of my existential thoughts…

since there’s so much search power and attacks are so efficient these days, you don’t really need much energy; I remember back in the holon era when people just ran like 8 holons pokemon and maybe a couple double rainbow or something and that was it

People were running Pokemon-as-Energy and now minimal Energy and I’m just sitting here with the GBC game making slow-ass decks with ~15 Energy. What a world.

Honestly, I have considered getting into the current TCG, but then I remember why I swore off Yu-Gi-Oh and quietly go back to my GBC game.

The Crystal-specific songs always struck me as odd due to how similar in composition style they were to the comp styles of other popular games at the time, but I guess it makes sense considering it was neither Masuda or Ichinose who composed the tracks, but Morikazu Aoki.

With the Crystal intro, you can instantly pick up on how similar it is to the Zelda GBC games, and how Eusine and Clair’s theme’s songs are reminiscent of Mega Man songs, and almost as if Clair’s theme is leading up to a bridge -> chorus sequence.
