How beautiful is this cover?

I had a look around Gay’s The Word today, which I’ve read is, sadly, the only surviving LGBTQIA+ bookshop in the UK. It was great being around so many fiction and non-fiction queer books all in one place and I discovered so many I want to read! And it didn’t just have gay, lesbian and bi reads, but also sections for other sexualties like asexuality and ace 🏳️‍🌈

i just want to fall in love, not the “you’re hot, i’m hot, let’s fuck” type of love, but the type where you see her in a light nobody has before. you notice the way one of her eyebrows raises ever so slightly when she gets confused, you notice how beautiful her sparkling eyes look when the sunlight touches them, you notice the way she hunches her shoulders back and taps her feet when she gets nervous, and each and every time she looks in your direction your heart pounds with such an intensity that it feels like thunder coursing through your veins. each second of eye contact makes you break a sweat, each accidental touch sends you into a frenzy, your body is buzzing and you feel as if you have been set on fire. you ache to know her deepest fears, her happiest moments, what makes her tick, what makes her who she is. i want to fall in love again and again each time i see her face, hear her voice, her laugh, or even smell her perfume. i want that type of love, god damn.

So, by now, my little sister is literally laughing at me, bc all my favorite characters randomly turn out to be lgbtq+ characters without me knowing it at first and she is just laughing at the fact that I seriously have a lgbtq+ Sensor somewhere inside of me

But I love it

I was at Barnes & Nobles one time and this 12 year old girl dramatically pointed at a book and yelled, ‘This book is as gay as me,’ and then walked away like a motherfucking queen. My curiosity got the best of me and I went to look at the book that caused the scene, to find out it was a rainbow colored book with the title “This Book Is Gay” and I swear to god, that little girl became such a mood and my idol.

employer: would you say you have any special talents
me: yeah well not to brag but I’ve gotten pretty good at sensing if books and movies are gay based on the vague language in the summaries… let me give you a hint: “close bond,” “has always been different,” “intriguing new boy/girl” “strangely drawn to”…

Stucky Things

-Warm Bucky, cold metal arm. Steve once put a sock on his metal hand because Bucky kept shoving it up the back of his shirt and making him jump & scream, which made Bucky laugh a lot

-Steve likes to have Bucky on top of him when they cuddle because it was that way in the 40’s in order to keep Steve warm

-Bucky with his hair in a half-bun. Steve loves it and makes him do it all the time

-Both are wonderful cooks and occasionally one will wake up earlier than the other (especially after a hard night) to make their partner breakfast in bed.

-Bucky doesn’t like to cry, but is very comfortable doing it around Steve

-Bubble baths are common and always shared. Steve discovered bath bombs and uses them all the time. (He especially likes the ones that smell like lavender)

-Bucky found Captain America sweats and wears them religiously

-Once, they were taking a shower together, and Steve started humming Star Spangled Man. Bucky started in with the lyrics and suddenly it was a full-blown, off-key duet

-Pet names galore. “Pumpkin” “My love” “Kitten” “Sweetheart” “Darling”

-Working out together all the time, sparring, listening to “hip music” and getting really hype really fast

-Tony gave them phones, and they take little candid pictures of each other all the time

-Occasional debates are had. Many new topics have arisen and they’re both so good at arguing for their cause

-Dancing. Not the cute, sweet dancing like in fanfics. Bad dancing. And they love it.

-Getting Instagram and being total assholes to one another about it. Bad pictures of each other. Strange captions with strange pictures. “This is Steve eating corn. He doesn’t really know what the fuck he’s doing apparently but it’s cute so it’s a'ight” “Ayyy Bucky lookin’ real good with that bedhead” “Buck why did you wear JEANS to bed what the hell”

-They got the matching dog tags again. Missed them too much.

anonymous asked:

Gay people used to have their own bookstores and cafes but what happened was capitalism. Do you go to a local coffeeshop or do you get Starbucks? Do you buy your books from Amazon or Barnes&Noble instead of looking for a small business? This is why all those places disappeared. Most LGBT centers have gay choirs, though, they're just not skewed young to the queer community.

GOOD POINT ANON! There are few Gay Bookstores left, A LOT have gone out of business in the last few years. They all sell books, movies, gay flags, etc. and almost all of them are now combined with something else to survive: bookstore + coffee shop, bookstore + sex shop, bookstore + art shop, gay books + feminist/women’s books. Almost of all them have free dating nights, parties, book readings, book signings and other events where you can meet lesbian and gay people. Follow them on FB, IG and Twitter to keep up with their events. If you can’t actually go to any of these stores, please support them by ordering something from them online. We need to keep our places open!
