Galaxy Print Doctor Who Saree | “We’re all stories in the end, just make it a good one.”

I painted a galaxy print saree for my graduation, and because i’m a massive nerd, it has a Gallifreyan palla with my favourite 11th Doctor quote “We’re all stories in the end, just make it a good one”. There might be a TARDIS or two floating around the time vortex as well.

4. A character you rarely talk about?

I would have a post that would go for EONS if I talked about each and every OC I’ve ever done cause I rarely talk about the ones that I had made prior to dA and such…
Heck I kinda tossed some OCs in the dust from the dA era…

But I guess one character I can mention was a character I made that was based on a series that got me into drawing:

Tokyo Mew Mew.

And the character was Mew Peppermint.

She was based off of some blue butterfly species that is endangered that I can’t remember and her actual name… oh gosh what was it? It had to be some generic name cause she was part of the team I called Mew Mew USA - cause it was in the USA. Kinda… (then it turned to Tokyo Mew Mew Unleashed cause THAT’S ORIGINAL RIGHT?!?)

Gosh she is super Mary Sue ish - having two different DNA injections of endangered species which causes two separate transformations within her until near the end where she was able to combine them together. Mew Peppermint and…. I think the other one was Mew Watermelon o-o
Peppermint and Watermelon… one could consider Peppermint as a candy…so sugar…

HOLY FUDGE I WAS SHIPPING SUGAR MELON BACK IN 2006!!!

pfff ok joking aside - she was the first character of mine I dressed up as for halloween (which everyone thought I was a fairy… nope I wasn’t), and she - while a Mary Sue - got me into the whole “make a character for this series you like” phase which I have yet to grow out of.

(she’s the lower right hand corner person with broken legs o-o)

Some OC Questions

“Strexcorp: Believe in a Smiling God” - Kevin Free

“Ours is not a Smiling God.” - Tamika Flynn

Or: The two opposing sides of the Night Vale Revolution

I’m really excited about these and I’m finally finished. Haha. But seriously, what’s better than a Night Vale / Doctor Who crossover?

(Also: Many thanks to idlewildly and fyeahgallifreyan for proofreading this.)

Personally, I'm more interested in what the avant-garde of Gallifrey is like than the politics and economy.

That’s assuming there is one and that it’s not represented by Renegades like the Doctor.

I mean, there probably is one, but what would it look like? How does time travel affect art? Are those 4-D paintings something anyone can do? Are those experimental? If a frozen bit of time can be a painting and yet also be a portal to/from that time and/or from one time to another, how does translate into the choices artists make for the subjects of their art?

Maybe ‘Traditional’ Gallifreyan art moves glacially slow–sculptors who take decades or centuries to make one piece, to make something solid in the stream of time; horticulturists (Ceruleans, probably) who weave plants into living collages; celestial-artists that shift stars and other phenomena to make patterns that can only be viewed at certain times and/or certain places (as if the Medusa Cascade were naturally occurring).

And the avant-garde are all about the quick and the fast and what doesn’t last, what won’t be around in decades or centuries or at the end of all things. (And in that way, that would make the Doctor part of the avant-garde, even if he doesn’t consider himself an artist. He’s got appreciation for the mayflies, loses that perspective if they’re not around to remind him, even if they’re so much more important than for just perspective reminding.)

This is like the 7th time I redesign this lil guy, there are more features now!

  • The shape is bulkier, like a bulldog or a tortoise, because the limbs extend sideways instead of downwards
  • The lips are thicker and bigger to protect the enamel of the teeth
  • Vibrissae in the head (no longer in the nose only), neck, feet and abdomen, which provides a secondary sense of location and position
  • Somehow fluffier

btw it’s the size of a horse, it can kill you, keep that in mind :^)
