You know,” I whispered, “some girls might think it’s creepy having a boy watch them sleep.”

He smirked and pointed to himself. “Spy.”

“Oh.” I nodded. “Right. So you’re a trained Peeping Tom.”

“Product of the best peeping academies in the country.”

“Well, now I feel much better.”

“You should.

  • what she says: im fine
  • what she means: i cant belive that the gallagher girls series doesnt get the recognition it deserves. its a series about independent teenage girls who go to a spy school and they're all able to kick your ass in 100 different ways. still there's no putting each other down but pulling each other up. the girls support each other in every possible way and have the best friendship in literature. also why is no one talking about the amazing representation of woc in these books? why is no one at all talking about this series??

Liz beamed, Macey smirked, and Bex just gave a calm smile as if she’d known this moment was coming ever since the day the Blackthorne Boys walked through the front doors-like it was inevitable that the Gallagher Girls would eventually bring at least one of them to their knees.
Cam felt the building around her pulsing, beating like a heart. And she knew why he was asking her here. Now. It was where he’d kissed her. Where they’d run away from rogue operatives and toward the truth. It was home. And it was where her heart was.

reasons to read the gallagher girls series
  • healthy positive relationships between girls that are not tested by boys, completely dependent, and go through changes / adopt to differences and prove the importance of strong female character relationships
  • female villain because fuck yeah catherine goode is the head of an international secret terrorist organization running back centuries and she’s completely unapologetic about it and she’s not Muslim and destroys the idea that all terrorists have to be Muslims to be accurate :)
  • one of the main characters is Canonically POC and the fact is given true justice and she is treated with respect and never seen as less than her race / comes from an elite family of people of color that an hailed as international heroes
  • the plot of the books is not mean to complicate and give direct ideas about certain characters, so much is up to interpretation and there is so much room for LGBT characters ( cough liz ! )
  • four diverse and different main characters go through changes and are presented as dynamic characters ( all that are FEMALE ! get that empowerment ) liz as the smart bookworm who accidentally starts world war three, bex as the badass bitch who has a terrible fear of needles, cammie who is constantly described as average but is targeted by a terrorist organization, and macey who is hailed the modern princess but gives back to the people that saved her life
  • rachel morgan ( cammie’s mom ) and headmisstress of the gallagher academy ( a school for spies that are fun fact all girls only ) is presented as a Healthy Mom Figure and treats cammie with respect / has very open conversations with her about cammie’s relationships
  • zach goode ( cammie’s love interest ) is not portrayed as the typical “badass boy heartbreaker” instead he is shown as a boy that cries and is so dynamic in expression and actions and goes through so much shit
  • parental relationships are explored in such depth, toxic parents are brought under the light and good parental figures are explored / normalized
  • teenage spies ? teenage girls that are spies fighting international criminals? teenage spies that spend a year with a school for teenage boys? teenage spies sneaking out their best friend to date a normal boy in book ? girls girls girls
  • sisterhood. the entire book is about the importance of sisterhood and the bond between girls ( the sisters of gillian ) the relationships between past and present gallagher girls is so positive and beautiful
  • joe solomon and matthew morgan ? healthy friendship ? best dads ever ? you bet your ass
  • lacey loves the series and told you to read it so uhm do it
I never knew there were this many stars.”
“I can’t see them,” he told me. “I just see you.”
“That’s one of your cheesier lines,” I told him.
“It’s the altitude,” he told me. “I don’t have enough oxygen in my brain.”
“I see.

Can we talk about how lucky it was that Joe Solomon was in a coma when Cammie decided to do her brilliant “run TOWARD the terrorist group trying to kidnap you” plan because if he had been awake I’m 90% certain the Circle wouldn’t have had to do anything Joe would’ve tracked her down and murdered her before they even realized she was out

Zach,” I said as I lay there “Where did you go? When you were looking for me?”
I shifted in his arms, looked into his eyes.
“Crazy.” His voice was a whisper against my skin. “I went crazy.
