The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl: Eats Nuts. Kicks Butts.

So having now picked up the first trade of The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl, I really have only one question that’s troubling me. WHY DID IT TAKE ME SO LONG TO FIND THIS SERIOUSLY AWESOME COMIC?????

Look at her squee-worthy ferocity!

LOOK AT IT!!

She is equal parts heroic and adorable, whether she’s stopping muggers in a park or battling Galactacus in the depths of space while using an Iron Man suit that she stole from Tony Stark. Or borrowed. Let’s say borrowed. He totally owed her one.

And in her down time she’s trying to figure out what a normal person would do and adorably failing to do that, and having conversations with her squirrel friends.

I even have a favourite moment.

Squirrel Girl is exactly the kind of quirky fun I look for in a comic. I want to see her doing all the things with all the characters all the time. This is because I love the way she just breezes into a situation being her amazingly abnormal self, never takes herself seriously, and annoys the heck out of characters that do.

So to summarise - read Squirrel Girl!

SHE’S A HUMAN AND ALSO A SQUIRREL!
