gaius marcius coriolanus

Gaius Marcius Coriolanus

Gaius Marcius (Caius Martius) Coriolanus (/ˌkɔriəˈleɪnəs, ˌkɒr-/) was a Roman general who is said to have lived in the 5th century BC. He received his toponymic cognomen “Coriolanus” because of his exceptional valor in a Roman siege of the Volscian city of Corioli. He was subsequently exiled from Rome, and led troops of Rome’s enemy the Volsci to besiege Rome.

In later ancient times, it was generally accepted by historians that Coriolanus was a real historical individual, and a consensus narrative story of his life appeared, retold by leading historians such as Livy, Plutarch, and Dionysius of Halicarnassus. More recent scholarship has cast doubt on the historicity of Coriolanus, portraying him as either a wholly legendary figure or at least disputing the accuracy of the conventional story of his life or the timing of the events.

According to Plutarch, his ancestors included prominent patricians such as Censorinus and even an early King of Rome. The story is the basis for the tragedy of Coriolanus, written by William Shakespeare, and a number of other works, including Beethoven’s Coriolan Overture.

Where dwellest thou? Inside thy heart.

ghostofglory its-babyleface-lokirich blackazalia 2nd round commence, of #hiddlesmehard parody. Rise and shine for thine haven’t have the day for any much longer, but torturous dreams upon thee, with the beautiful face of Marcius.

its-babyleface-lokirich i think i’ll never come around of getting it done, not by the measures of ever, just not right now. I don’t even know if the legacy of Students Of Shakespeare is still alive, i left it behind after graduation. We only managed to study very little of Coriolanus, The last 5 plays were compounded with eccentric values, the tragedies remained more or less the same, but harder to retrieve the elements for display. Just when i was pass the point of ever knowing how much one can pull out of the one that i have related to the most, 2013 came and threw it to my face. We had to take a moment to register what we had lost a decade still in progress.

This is the most piercing outlook on a human’s soul one can dare to witness. Coriolanus’ emotions are so heavy to carry let alone, to display. There’s an emotional trapping game here that is so tragic therefore poignant. Tom Hiddleston did an exceptional job of pulling that side of Coriolanus out and he did it with such passion and enthusiasm, that the bar has been set so high. i don’t think anyone will be able to raise the standards above the level he had.

You can still function as a living ruin. and ALONE I DID IT, boy. U must watch this at least once in your lifetime. A human’s worst tragedy is his emotions. That’s where the whole intrigue lies. It kills us even before we die. It’s the saddest thing in life, it’s the only thing there is.

* Revive the least known and the single most unpopular plays by William Shakespeare
* Throw in Tom Hiddleston as the main protagonist of the show, make him wear some tight leather and do some Coriolanus roll..
* And suddenly the whole world knows who Coriolanus is.

Maybe others: Simple life, no stress. Smile politely, move on. that’s normal.

Me: i will now proceed to stare at the wall for God knows how many hours, questioning myself to why Shakespeare wrote Coriolanus? Wasting my life away just because, it suddenly feels so important to put this puzzle together, like as if my life depends on it!! After 400 years, i just had to ask this question. (i can’t be the only one?)
