gaijin studios

I was going through old stuff and found this! I miss Gaijin Studios so much! Friends of the studio would get these beautiful cards every year! It was cool that this was from a golden lineup at the studio. So many talented artists in one place. Cully Hamner, who I consider one of my good friends, really helped me out a lot during college. Gave me advice on art and life.

More than anything that’s why so many people loved Gaijin Studios, they changed lives. A lot of creators now are rude, self involved, and don’t care about the future of art. But if you look at guys and gals who list Gaijin as inspiration, you’ll find that they’re paying forward the kindness and information given to them.

I think people need to remember that when you’re talented enough, you don’t need to hide your ‘secrets of the trade.’ You share with the next generation of artists so they’ll produce great products, and force you to innovate further. That’s what Gaijin did, and was VERY successful because if it.

I’m proud to say I learned more from Gaijin than I did in any form of school. I wish they’d create their own college…
