On the streets of Gaborone, Botswana, as well as other parts of the country, people - typically families - set up their own food stands during lunch hours. They sell amazing home cooked foods, and the best part is that the food here is generally healthier and organic. The portions are more than enough for one meal, yet as mentioned above incredibly inexpensive. This picture shows one of the meals I had recently, it contains plenty of rice underneath, with beef, potatoes, beans, and veggies. For those who say travelling is expensive, I want to reiterate, as I have done so before, that I’m not rich, and regular travelling doesn’t require you to be rich. In many parts of the world, once you’ve arrived, the cost of living is a mere fraction of what it would be in Canada or the United States.
