Paul Ryan and Nancy Pelosi strike bipartisan tone in House address

  • House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wisc.) called for the House “to come together” as he delivered a statement that was followed by House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) in the wake of Wednesday morning’s shooting at a baseball field that left House Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R-La.) and four others injured.
  • “We are united in our shock, we are united in our anguish,” Ryan said, his voice rising. “An attack on one of us is an attack on all of us.” The House rose in applause.
  • “I identify myself with the remarks of the Speaker,” Pelosi said after Ryan as the House stood, applauding the show of bipartisanship. “We are not one caucus or the other in this House today.” Read more (6/14/17 3 PM)

“Words weigh a ton:” Republicans and Democrats reflect on harsh tone in wake of baseball shooting

  • Members of Congress echoed the above sentiment in interviews with Mic, noting how the attack motivated introspection about the heated rhetoric that often flies between Republicans and Democrats.
  • “Everybody is reflecting on what we all say,” Rep. Tim Ryan (D-Ohio) said after he listened to House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wisc.) and Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Cali.) Read more (6/14/17)

Former Congresswoman Gabby Giffords shares powerful statement after Alexandria shooting

  • “It doesn’t matter if you’re a Democrat or a Republican, nor if you’re a senator or a representative, nor a staffer or a sworn officer,” Giffords said in a statement.
  • “If you serve the institution of Congress, you’re connected to your colleagues, current and former, by a shared sense of service to ideals far greater than yourself. … This shooting is an attack on all who serve and on all who participate in our democracy.” Read more (6/14/17)

This Day in True Crime

8 January: the 2011 Tucson shooting

On 8 January 2011, Jared Lee Loughner (pictured above left) made an attempt on the life of U.S. Representative Gabbie Giffords (picture above right) in a shooting in a Safeway parking lot in Tucson, Arizona at around 10:10am local time. The shooting left six people, including a nine-year-old girl, a federal District Court judge, and one of Giffords’ staffers, fatally wounded. Giffords was severely injured, but she survived a gunshot wound to the head. Since then, she recovered well and has been an outstanding advocate for gun control.

Liberals a Laughing Stock

And I’m still laughing. CNN is the leader in ‘Favorite Butt of All Jokes’ category at the moment. Their Russian collusion story about Scaramucci went up in a mushroom cloud of fire and brimstone, resulting in three of their major journalists being shown the door and the network having to submit a more than embarrassing retraction that the was story was….wait for it….FAKE.

Then the video comes out of one of their guys admitting there is no evidence of Russian collusion with Trump or his surrogates, that it is a witch hunt, and it is all about ratings…not the truth or objective journalism (which doesn’t exist anymore).

Sarah Palin is suing the New York Times for defamation in linking her with the Gabby Giffords shooting, and she will win. Bank on it, since she is going to.

As mentioned in an earlier post, Phil Montag, a democratic guru, was fired for allowing himself to be recorded saying he was glad Steve Scalise was shot and wished he were dead.

After losing, yet again, a special election, nutball Nancy Pelosi comes out stating her record as house leader being impeccable and that her political acumen was ‘astute’. All this while the wolf pack is surrounding this aged alpha female and getting ready to pounce. After all, Democrat seating in Congress has plummeted under her…uh…cough cough…leadership. Republicans control the House, the Senate, the White House and the Supreme Court. For some reason, this billionaire bimbo thinks that what works in California and New York should be welcomed with open arms for all those in between.

Maxine Waters was confronted with a non-violent protest of about two hundred people at a town hall meeting in her district and she had to leave by a side door. Word is that a very strong candidate is coming against her in 2018 and her seat in Congress is anything but secure.

Democrats are reeling with loss, after loss, after loss, desperately seeking a message that will resonate with middle America, while clinging to their old, tired, worn out rhetoric and thinking that bashing Trump will be their victorious mantra in 2018.

All the Democrats’ main allies (Hollywood elites) can do is look stoned and talk about killing the president, blowing up the White House, killing Republicans, and moving to another country…which none of them have done, by the way. Jim Carey is the latest to claim ‘Most Stupid Statement’ award, when he spouted, “we’re the last line of defense. And really, the comedians are the last voice of truth in this whole thing. It’s impossible to get away from it.” This while looking like a forest hermit that just crawled out from his cave searching for nuts and berries.

So what you have here is the Keystone Cops Party of slapstick comedy. It would really be funny if these people weren’t in positions of power or have celebrity status to lead the less intelligent and least informed into their camp of idiocy. All their race baiting, their false news stories, their threats, their violence, their screaming, their crying, their whining continues to lose for them more and more support. Good. I hope they keep it up.
