First trans woman appointed as Master of the UK High Court
A trans woman has quietly become the first to be appointed as a leading judge in the High Court.

Dr Victoria McCloud has been appointed as the most senior out trans public figure as a Master in the High Court, reports theMail on Sunday. Dr McCloud is also the youngest ever Master in the High Court, at age 46, and is the second only female Master, having been appointed in 2010. She has presided over several high profile cases, which have involved Russell Brand and Katie Price.

Master McCloud lives in London with her civil partner, who is also out as transgender, Dr Annie McCloud. Her partner is an NHS psychiatrist. The Queen’s Bench Master was congratulated by trans support group TG Pals, based in Kent.

Heather Ashton, the group’s spokesperson said she had “courage”, going on:

“Transgender people were objects of ridicule in the past – they were afraid to come out publicly at all about who they were. This is another person being courageous enough to say we’re here, we’re in all walks of life.”

Master McCloud studied at Christ Church College, Oxford, having graduated with a psychology degree and doctorate. She later completed a law conversion, and in 1995 was called to the bar. Master McCloud specialised in civil and family law when she practiced at barristers’ chambers, and later wrote a series of legal handbooks.

A spokesman for the judiciary said courts in Britain have an “increasingly” diverse make up, and said:“judges come from all walks of life reflecting society in general”.

Master McLoud has not spoken publicly about her trans status, but has written a letter to the Royal College of Psychiatry journal on transitioning.

Virginia panel OKs bill mandating school restroom use based on biological sex
The bill is designed to keep transgender students from using the restroom of the gender with which they identify.

TW: problematic wording

A legislative panel has approved a bill that would require students to use the bathroom that corresponds with their biological sex. The Daily Press reportsthat the bill would mandate that school systems and state agencies adopt policies designed to keep transgender students from using the restroom of the gender with which they identify.

The House General Laws subcommittee endorsed the bill Thursday. Opponents said transgender people should be allowed to use the bathroom of their choice. Supporters called it a common sense measure that would address parents’ concerns.

A transgender student in Gloucester who was born female sued after his school board barred him from using the boy’s restrooms. A federal judge ruled against him in September and his case is being considered by a federal appeals court.

— —★ Fiddleford McGucket’s p r e s e n c e around the house was becoming more and more frequent that it seemed n o r m a l to see the thinner man around. Not that Stan was c o m p l a i n i n g. He loved his brother, but Ford wasn’t always the b e s t company. Seeing as their relationship was still tentative, a few things said out of place or taken the w r o n g way could lead to some squabbles. Not to mention Fiddleford was a pretty g o o d guy with a better sense of h u m o r than what Stan was used to from his brother.

Stan still didn’t know much about what h a p p e n e d between the other man and his twin, but s i m i l a r to how things were with him and his brother, Stan could sense when things would get t e n s e between the two.

Stan was u s e d to seeing Fiddleford around the corner, or tinkering with something in another room, or h a n g i n g out on the porch. Often times, Stan would join him, and today was no different, at least in that r e s p e c t. When Stan joined the other, Stan noticed that something was definitely o f f

The Professor hardly seemed to n o t i c e his presence, and come to think of it, his eyes had a panicked, g l a z e d look to them. Everything about him was screaming panic, and immediately, Stan u n d e r s t o o d“Fiddleford,” he said quietly. He didn’t e x p e c t an answer; he just didn’t want to scare him as he moved beside him. Mentally, he c u r s e d himself for having such a rough voice. It wasn’t the most s o o t h i n g thing to hear, but none the less, he continued to speak to Fiddleford in a low, s o f t voice, “Just take deep breaths, alright?”

It was empty and cold and waiting to be filled with something new. Or rather someone new. Lines of code filled the void that waited. Codes that would bring someone to life on the inside.

But hey let’s continue with rampant construction, erosion of green spaces because you know ‘Development’ ! Can we Eat this? Breathe this?

So easily they have discredited environmentalists, activists as naxals, anti nationals.

You see the patriots have superpowers to save Earth. Or atleast save their beloved money Gods.

Cut down the trees, we need the metro. Concrete is the new blue sky. Cement, the new oxygen. The 'development’ Matrix has been loaded.

You can watch, buy, vote, pay taxes but you can’t breathe easy.

Clearly, Greed is our favourite sin.
