function falls

Me: wants a vaquero dressing paisa dude who goes to bailes and calls me by usted, casually buys me a rose from the lil ladies at the function.

Dude I fall for: hood nigga with a fitted and tattoos might have an eyebrow piercing who don’t txt back.

Oh.. okay 🙄😪😒🤦🏽‍♀️

I’ll be ok for a few days but then it hits me, I stop functioning and everything falls apart again.

MBTI Types as Waterfalls

im sorry everybody has already done all the cool stuff! but u guys can send me ideas on what to do next!

ESTJ: Dettifoss. Europes most powerful waterfall!

ISFP: Plitvice. So picturesque! Bursting with colours!

ENTP: Blue Nile Falls. Definitely something new and some of it is being used for a power dam. Its local name means ‘smoking water’!

ESTP: Tugela falls. Have to do a lot of climbing but it’s worth it!

INFP: Nohkalikai Falls. It changes a lot. During summer it’s quite tranquil but during winter its very… violent? im at a loss of words, just like i would be when my INFP sister gets mad

ISTJ: Niagara. Quite possibly the first waterfall everbody thinks of when they have to name a waterfall. (the classic)

INFJ: Detian falls. quite nature-ish. pretty private too. (only opened up last year due to border conflicts)

ESFJ: Huangguoshu. It’s very interactive and open. Visitors can even touch the water! (due to a cave formed at the back)

ENTJ: Kaieteur Falls. Powerful. REALLY POWERFUL. Also looks quite impressive. (its in the middle of a rainforest. but that doesnt compare to how hard it is to find an ENTJ that likes you)

INTJ: Victoria Falls. Its indigenious name means The Smoke That Thunders. This relates to the INTJ cause THEY KEEP SHOUTING AT PEOPLE WITH NO PROOF. also it has a reputation that its the biggest and widest but its not

ENFJ: Gocta Cataracts. 2 waterfalls in one and easily accessible (unlike all the others).

ESFP: Igazu Falls. A lot of fun. Sunny nature. Also it has a fall called Devil’s Throat and for some reason that reminded me of ESFPs.

ISTP: Gullfoss. It is fed by glacial runoff, making it very cold. ISTPs too are fed by glacial runoff and are cold.

ENFP: Jog Falls. Many waterfalls emerging from the same river (line of thought). Amount of water depends on the season (moodswings).

ISFJ: Angel Falls. A literal angel.

INTP: Dragon Gate. Intensely reserved. Not very popular but super cool nonetheless.

“And in that moment I knew I was head over heels for him.”

The gang is back! And this time, their enemy will be tougher to take down than ever…their worst nightmare!

Does having a high Fi mean you won't change how you see things or even reconsider it? Is it possible to have aux Fi and still reconsider how you see things bcs of the influence of someone close to you? Thank you!

Fi means that you assess and internalize information using subjective considerations rather than objective ones. It means that when you learn something new, you think, “What does it mean to me?” “How does it relate to me?” “How do I feel about it?” And their mind space is very subjective. They’re more likely to see what they want to see and be stubborn about their opinions. They’ll admit if they got the facts wrong, but not that their opinion is wrong.

What Fe does is listen to what everyone feels and sort of amalgamate that into what they feel is a valid opinion, and they’re more likely to change how they see things because of other people. People with Fi aren’t that concerned with other people or the environment when it comes to how they feel. The only time that changes is when it comes to someone so close to you that they feel like they’re a part of you, and you feel like you wouldn’t be you without them, and by that I mean, immediate family and best friend{s) and life partner. That’s it. When people with a strong Fi love someone, their questions to themselves start including them. “What does it mean to me? To them?” They won’t “change their mind” per se, but they will start to automatically consider them while thinking over their opinions. I would still say that if a strong Fi person had a close person try to invalidate or change their opinion, they still wouldn’t (unless the relationship was unhealthy).

I’m an Fi-dom, so at least this is how it is for me. Fi is all about knowing who you are and how you feel about things and not compromising that. You can consider other people while deciding how you feel, and people can effect your opinion, but no one can single-handedly change your opinion. They can just provide a different point of view that will cause you reassess your point of view given the new information and figure out your opinion for yourself. No other person will be a part of that process, but people can be very near it.

We’re going down, down in an earlier round
And Sugar, we’re going down swinging
I’ll be your number one with a bullet
A loaded god complex, cock it and pull it

anonymous asked:

Is it true that INTP's have little to no experience with intimate relationships? I'm an INTP, and have never had a boyfriend or done anything intimate. But I do wonder what's different about me, compared to others who have had gotten the chance at romantic relationships?

I get questions like this from INTPs a lot, so I’m giving you guys one long answer on this, okay?

I won’t say that the two are directly connected, but they might be indirectly. I would never pinpoint anything as “the reason” that you haven’t been intimate with anyone because it’s not about intimacy, per se. It’s about the overall relationships you have with other people. If those are healthy and positive, and you’re putting in an effort to meet new people and broaden your horizons, intimacy will come. If one of those factors is missing, that’s thr problem.

Now I’m gonna go super technical on you for a second; bear with me.

Technical theory

See, INTPs are usually pretty introverted people, given their Ti-Ne-Si combination, and Fe is their inferior function, ie the last in their order stack.

Now the way the system generally works is:

  • Your first or primary/dominant function is the one you use predominantly, largely subconsciously. It’s your go-to instinct.
  • Your second or auxiliary function is the one that sort of balances out your dominant function. It gives your dominant function a second dimension, a counterpart. If your dominant function is introverted, your second will be extraverted.
  • Your third or tertiary function is the direct counterpart of your secondary function. Together your 2nd and 3rd functions are the part of your personality that are balanced and have very close coordination. Someone with Ti-Fe as their middle two functions will be able to think things through and express their thoughts effectively, more so than someone with Ti-Fe as their first and last functions.
  • Your fourth or inferior function is the one that’s the weakest, or comes least naturally to you. More often than not, you have to consciously use it; make an effort, you know? That’s why it’s usually very underdeveloped.

Let’s look at that last function a little more. Many people say that during times of panic or stress, people are likely to use their inferior function. That may not always be true, but it is true that your inferior function, if underdeveloped, will function in bursts or impulses, and won’t be under your control. It also means that your dominant function won’t be under your control either because it will be without its natural counterpart. If developed, however, you still have to consciously use it properly, but it does start to balance your dominant function, so you don’t always act on your primary impulses which is what happens with an underdeveloped inferior function.

Now the problem you’re describing is this exactly. As an INTP, Fe is your inferior function, so let’s talk about Fe.

A little bit about Fe:

  • Fe is a judging function - centered around feelings or subjectivity.
  • Judging functions can be classified as introverted and extraverted. Introverted judging function tell you how you reflect. Extraverted judging functions tell you how you interact with the world. Now, Fe is thus a mode of interaction with the world. So Fe is interaction through feelings.
  • Judging functions are also decision-making functions, so people with a strong Fe tend to make decisions using their feelings.

People with a strong Fe make decisions based on how everyone feels, and how that makes them feel. They actively engage in other people’s feelings and are always in tune with the mood or atmosphere in a room. They like to keep that atmosphere up, and are often the types to radiate energy to do that. Fe, like I said before, is the type that would dance at a party because of the exhilarating atmosphere. They’ll also get everyone a round of drinks because that has the same effect. They like being polite and will always be respectful towards what’s appropriate. In conversations, they’ll always be actively engaged. They’ll laugh at your jokes because that’s a nice thing to do.

They’re more likely to take the middle ground when it comes to discussions, and well always gravitate towards a compromise rather than continued conflict. They’re very passionate people, but more often than not, strong Fe means control over feelings and passion, especially if the Fe is accompanied with a developed Ti. Control meaning… they know what they want, but they won’t get too carried away or impatient.

People with a strong Fe are often activists. They won’t hesitate to retaliate against offense towards other people and will defend those people. Fi is loyal to the people so close to them that are a part of their lives. Fe is loyal to everyone. This paves the path toward activism; they’ll preach on what’s right with a passion because everything they do is with a strong passion.

People with a strong Fe can also be big on scenery. When travelling, they’ll stop to take a few pictures, and they could stare at sunsets forever. It’s the kind of thing that doesn’t get old even though it happens everyday. They like being in a comfortable environment. Fe people are also very likely to have their rooms decorated with memories displayed on their walls because living in the constant reminder of their good memories makes them feel more content. Their room is in that sense their safe haven because it reflects who they are. Fe is often also big on health and fitness, and they can go pretty hardcore into running and exercise because they do feel happier when they feel healthier and look fitter.

Fe chases the feeling of harmony in every aspect of their life – their relationships with others, theirs environment, their daily activities. Everything.

All of this is in core Fe.

What to do

Now I’m willing to bet that a lot of things that I’ve said are things you’ve thought of, but they’re not things that come easy to you. They’re things you want to be able to achieve. You want to make people happy, but sometimes you’re not quite sure how. You want to be able to comfort and console your friends, but you don’t always say the right thing because you’re not quite sure what they need to hear. You have a lot of thoughts that you’re not able to effectively put into words. You know how you should act, but you’re not always able to. You like the idea of debates, but you’re not that good at them because you don’t know how to passionately make your argument on the spot without time for forethought. Sometimes you think you’re boring to be around or that you don’t know how to have fun because you don’t see yourself as energizing although you want to be and admire people who are. When you’re angry, you probably lash out because you don’t have control over your emotions. You like to think you have control probably because a strong Ti makes you think that you’re not that feelsy and you keep emotions at bay, but the thing is you not being to express emotions isn’t the same thing as you being able to control your emotions. And sometimes you keep it all in for so long until it gets to the point of a breakdown because you just don’t know how to deal with it. When you have fights with friends, you back off and logically convince yourself that it’s not your fault, so they should be the ones to apologize, right? But you need to know when that type of thinking just isn’t appropriate. You need to develop a sort of radar for other people’s feelings, and you need to figure out when you should compromise your own feelings for someone else and when you shouldn’t.

These are all things that an underdeveloped Fe could make you struggle with. You might struggle with some and not the others, but the root is the same.

There’s no easy step-by-step on how to develop your inferior function, but basically what you need to do is actively incorporate it into your way of thinking and dealing with things. Put yourself out of your comfort zone, but consciously think of what you’re doing and the effect it’s having on others. If you’re not sure, ask them. Talk to your friends. Don’t overthink things in your mind; ask them directly. “Did I make you uncomfortable?” “Was that rude?” etc. If you can’t figure out how to console a friend, ask them “What can I do to help?” “What do you need?” You’re not on your own here. If you like the idea of going to parties but hate the idea of being alone, find someone that you’re kinda in the same boat with and go with them and try to meet new people together. And do try to meet new people. That’s how you develop your social skills, and you have so much to learn from other people.

Most importantly, whenever you’re using your Ti, consciously consider your Fe. Don’t make excuses just because it might not come naturally to you. Force it into your functioning, especially when using Ti. Instead of putting intimacy as a goal, develop your Fe, and everything else will fall into place.

Do you know any good THoB fix it fics, but specifically comfort still taking place at Baskerville *coughcough post scene in front of the fire place cough* Tysm!!!!!!

Hi Nonny! Not a whole lot of fix-its… A lot more angsty than anything, but I do have a few taking place during and inspired by THoB!

Mentality by Cumberbatch Critter (T, 1k+ w. || Friendship, Hurt / Comfort) – It was weird. But Sherlock was having a panic attack. Re-write of the Hounds of the Baskerville scene. Doctor!John.

What Sherlock Missed by chappysmom (K, 1k+ w. || Friendship, Fluff, Silly Ending) – Maybe Sherlock didn’t see everything he should have seen at Baskerville.

Baskerville After Dark by Ttime42 (T, 1k+ w. || Friendship, Humour, Bed Sharing, Fluff, Pre-Slash) – John and Sherlock have to share a bed at Baskerville. Snippets of their time at Dartmoor.

Equilibrium by augustbird (M, 12,351 w. || Jealous then Worried Sherlock, Sick John) – At Baskerville, John is infected by a virus that turns him into a genius. But when the infection progresses into neurodegeneration, it’s a race against time to save himself. Flowers for Algernon fusion.

Duvet (green) by Mazarin221b (G, 2021 w. || Post-HoB, Revelations, First Kiss, Sherlock’s Mind Palace) – Sherlock recalibrates and restructures his mind palace so it looks like 221b. What he chooses to put in John’s room is a bit of a surprise, and a revelation.

Living In Fear by Lady Sam Mallory  (T, 4k+ w. || H/C, Angst, Post-THoB, Nightmares/PTSD) – Missing Scene for Hounds of the Baskerville. John suffers from massive PTSD episodes upon their return from Dartmoor.

In The Wake by Ambikai (K+, 2k+ w. || Post-THOB, H/C, Friendship) – After returning from Baskerville, Sherlock and John deal with the aftermath: unsure of where they sit with one another.

After the Bombs by VampirePam (T, 3k+ w. || Angst, H/C, PTSD) – In which the drugs Sherlock used to dose John trigger a severe episode of PTSD. When terrors old and new cause John to fall apart, Sherlock must rectify his mistake and pick up the pieces.

Afghanistan in Baskerville by Amaya Ramiel (K+, 4k+ w. || Hurt/Comfort, PTSD) – What if John hadn’t seen the hound when Sherlock trapped him in the lab? What if instead, his very real nightmares of the war had materialized all around him? Trapped and drugged, John can’t tell what’s real and what’s not. How will Sherlock react?

Peaky by mattmetzger  (K+, 1k + w. || Post-THoB, Friendship, Angst, PTSD / Nightmares) – A nightmare is nothing but a brain processing recent events, and having a bad light to do it in. It will run its course. So why can’t Sherlock just leave?

Too Visible by chappysmom (K+, 23K+ w. || Friendship, AU, John’s Got an Ability) – With his gift of being invisible, John has always worried about being locked away in an experimental government lab. Baskerville is quite literally John’s worst nightmare—and the hound has nothing to do with it. It’s all Sherlock’s fault, but will he realize that? Sequel to Invisible and Still Invisible, Prequel to Invisible Once More

You Remind Me of a Man by columbine-and-asphodel (M, 17k+ w. || Sci-Fi, H/C, AU) – Sherlock is a living human experiment. John, an android medicinal ethics monitor, reviews the place that’s been experimenting on Sherlock and is thrown by what he finds. Inspired by but no spoilers for The Hounds of Baskerville.

The Curious Adventure of the Drs. Watson by ShinySherlock (M, 40,883 w. || Body Swap, Time Travel, Magical Artifacts, Victorianlock, ACD-BBC Fusion) – What if ACD Watson and BBC Watson switched places… John finds a journal and goes on an adventure that he never asked for.

(I haven’t read these yet, so read at your own risk.)

I’ve Just Got One by sarah_jehan (G, 1797 w. || Johnlock Freeform, Fluff) – Slightly-altered episode insert in which John simply walks away from Sherlock after the “friend” in The Hounds Of Baskerville spiel and Sherlock watches him leave instead of going after him and it’s a bit fluffy.

The Innkeeper’s Question by orphan_account (M, 1735 w. || Fluff) – This is set in Season 2, episode 2 of Sherlock. A bit fluffy, a bit serious, but overall lots of fun.

Fifteen Years by Bitenomnom (NR, 1209 w. || Marriage, Retirement, Kissing, Character Death, Introspection) – A lot changes in fifteen years, and a lot doesn’t. Fifteen years before Baskerville, John wanted a dog. Fifteen years before Sherlock was in court, Sherlock was in court. Fifteen years before John met Sherlock, John wasn’t interested in the violin. Fifteen years before he met Irene Adler, someone asked Sherlock out for dinner. Fifteen years before Sherlock kissed John, Sherlock kissed John. Part 46 of Mathematical Proof {{I’ve read a few stories in this series, and it’s been very enjoyable, so this will probably be a good one too.}}

Memento by audentes_fortuna_iuvat (E, 25,050 w.+ WiP || Angst, Character Study, Sherlock’s Past, Friend to Lovers) – Sherlock remembers flashes of time the way lightning strikes and thunder sounds during storms: suddenly and overwhelmingly. Some memories flood back like the opening of a dam, others yet like a broken tap, slow and steady and weak. And at the center of them all lies John Watson, the axis mundi of Sherlock Holmes’ life. Time floats on with John, and Sherlock starts to realize he’s dividing his life into two categories: Pre-John and With-John. As the axis turns harder and faster for Sherlock, he feels his life both coming together and unraveling at the same time. And soon, Sherlock finds himself in his greatest deduction yet, that of his mind and his heart, and finally sees how a self-professed ‘high functioning sociopath’ falls in love.

Silhouettes by allonsys_girl (E, 28,585 w. || Fluff, Bed Sharing, Angst, Drinking, Grief, Infidelity, Drug Use, POV John, Parentlock) – Sherlock and John find comfort in each other’s arms, but as ever with these two, it’s not your typical relationship. It’s fluffy at the beginning, gets deeply angsty in the middle, gets porny at the end. {{I think Baskerville is just briefly mentioned in the first chapter, it was tagged with THoB.}}

The Return to Baskerville by PeaJay (E, 31,343 w. || Angst, Torture, Est. Rel., John Whump, Case Fic, Smut, Graphic Violence) – Sherlock and John return to Baskerville to have another look around. They find a lot more than they bargain for. Especially John, who is kidnapped and brutally tortured. Graphic violence.
Part of the Mind the Gap series but can be read as a stand alone fic. Part 2 of Mind the Gap {{Been putting this one off because of the violence I think}}

Still of the Night by SoonerOrLater (G, 3717 w. || H/C, Angst, PTSD, Friendship) –  Short post-ep for Hounds of Baskerville, John and Sherlock talk a bit and deal with the fallout of the past few days, while Sherlock worries about the future.

The Naked Time by greyamber (T, 1217 w. || Pre-Slash, John’s Sci-Fi Obsession, Unhappy Ending) –  “John Hamish Watson was a hopeless Science Fiction fan, not that he could help. He had grown up with the Doctor, after all. Thank you very much.”

In Which There is a Row at Baskerville by thequeergiraffe (T, 944 w. || Pre-Slash) – John and Sherlock discuss the nature of their relationship. Can be read as a standalone. Part 20 of The Spaces In-between

Hope these are satisfactory! Please, if any of y’all have suggestions, particularly the one that Nonny is looking for, feel free to add them!

An In-Depth Explanation + Discussion of Morty Smith’s (Rick and Morty) Canon “Disability” - ADHD and Autism

In the popular Adult Swim cartoon, Rick and Morty, it is clearly and distinctly said that Morty Smith, the second half of the show’s two main characters, has a (context: learning) disability!

I ended up making a GIFset of evidence from throughout the shows current two season run supporting this statement, and bringing forth the speculation that said disability(s) is both ADHD and Autism!

I’ve gotten many question, comments, and criticism in the short time that the post has been up and have decided to answer them all here!

I’ll be explaining my post in-depth, GIF by GIF, with the episodes and context included, as well as citations to relevant articles/etc. to back them up/explain the symptoms (as well as ones not shown in the original post).

It is rather long, so using “Ctrl + F” (Windows) or “Command + F” (Mac) to find the specific symptom/explanation you’re looking for is advised!

Explanation is under the cut!

Debunking studyblr stereotypes, or something like that

I see a lot of new studyblrs worrying about these things and it really bothers me that these are worries at all. This is not me railing against the many studyblrs who are fortunate enough to have or happen to have all the supposed “studyblr” things, but rather the point of view as a blogger who feels entirely at home, supported, and accepted in the community, and who is also paying for college. I’m opting not to use a read more, because I feel like read mores get disregarded half the time.

To start with, I will unabashedly admit that I use few, if any, of the studying techniques touted by the studyblr community. They just don’t work for me, and that’s cool. I don’t have the time/energy/ability to do mind maps and aesthetic notes, I don’t have the discipline to do pomodoros, and my attempt at bullet journaling failed within a few days. I have a cute school planner, but to be honest as the weeks approached finals I legitimately did not write anything in it.

As for stationery. My current favorite pen is this Paper Mate Write Bros. pen my friend lent me in psych class one day. Yup, you know the ones I’m talking about — the ones that schools stock in bulk because it’s $2 for 12 pens, and $7 for 60. The closest I ever got to “studyblr” was the Pilot G2′s, which I like, but I still far prefer my super cheap alternatives. I also got a giant bag of similar pens (Bic, Paper Mate, and Staples) for free on Freecycle, and I’m 1000% content with that collection. I didn’t buy anything new except $5 worth of bargain school supplies this year (some notebooks and filler paper). I reuse old notebooks to make filler paper. A lot of my binders and folders are dog-eared, but I mean they work. I also like the college-ruled notebooks you can get at like pharmacies and generic brands — no fancy dotted, high quality paper for me! Oh, and I only have Mildliners and Fineliners because a follower sent them to me. I love them, particularly the thought behind them, but I do still revert back to my Bic highlighters and Paper Mate pens. Look, if someone offered to send me stationery (which I don’t need at this point), I would ask for a white-out pen (which I received!! Thank you!), maybe a couple new erasers, a Sharpie or two, and if I’m really splurging, a 60-pack of those Paper Mate pens. (((*cough*mywishlist*cough*))

Now let’s talk electronics. I have a MacBook Pro from 2011 that I received as a gift when I started high school. It’s literally imploding, like each of its functions are gradually falling apart (first the battery went to shit, and now the CD drive doesn’t work). It’s a Mac, but honestly as soon as this one dies — and I intend to stretch out its life as long as humanly possible — I’m going straight for a $200 Chromebook or other PC laptop. Let’s be real, literally all I need it for is to go online and tote around with me, and I don’t even have $500 to spare. Plus, using messages/FaceTime on my Mac slows it down, so there’s no real reason to hold onto the Mac OS X. I bought my iPhone 5s when I was 18 (two years ago) with my own money, paid cash up front. It’s sluggish now, but like my old MacBook, I’m seeing if I can make it last through til grad school. And the idea of having a high quality camera is laughable. I film silly little, hopefully relatable vlogs on my iPhone, edit them, and upload them to Google Drive.

Also, I don’t have succulents; I’d kill them by mistake. I don’t make cute healthy meals; if I make ramen it’s a huge deal. I’ve had the same twin bed and bedsheets MY ENTIRE LIFE and not a single one is white. My desk is a hand-me-down wooden monster and it’s got stains all over it.

Here’s the other important thing. Do I feel remotely bad or envious of studyblrs with all this fancy stationery, who can be so productive? Frankly, no. I think it’s awesome they have everything they need, and that it works for them. But being a studyblr is about SO MUCH MORE than materials and studyspo. I appreciate the “real studyblr” movement that happened a little while ago, but I dislike the divide it created at all. Live and let live, right? The only reason I’d want a pretty new MacBook Air is because it probably isn’t as slow as mine. I wouldn’t reject Muji stationery or pens, but I don’t really feel any desire for them. And much as I admire others for being able to do habit trackers and bullet journaling, it’s not like I sit around wishing I could do it too. I mean, I can watch professional dancers all I want, and appreciate their beauty and ability, but I’m not going to go home and berate myself for not being able to do the same thing. They’re doing what they enjoy doing, same as I do.

MY POINT IS, to all these new studyblrs who are worried that they don’t have what it takes to be a studyblr, BRO DON’T WORRY ABOUT IT. I’m relatively well known and respected in the community, and we’ve just listed all the ways I’ve breached every single fabricated studyblr “rule” — so if I can do that and get away with it, you certainly can too.

Hi everyone, long time no post! I’ve been busy the past few days with work AND a presentation, but at least the presentation is off my hands so I think I can get back to catching up on art and sleep during my off days~ (Sleep is first though, I’ve had a headache for the last month which is probably because of my messed-up sleep schedule;; )

Also, I’ve turned anonymous asks back on for anyone who was too shy to send messages off-anon! Requests are still closed, unfortunately - I was considering doing some for Inktober but my shift schedule for October is a MESS so I’m most definitely not going to have time to participate this year :’(

I hope everyone is having a good start-of-autumn! Many cheers <3
