fun treat

Things I’ve learned in the past twenty minutes:

- our lower jaws are actually SHRINKING because of our modern diet (I knew that our jaws have changed shape since the Medieval era and we now naturally have an overbite where before our front teeth met when we closed our jaws, but I had no clue it was actually changing size!!)

- teeth have less collagen than other bones and that’s why they’re so hard

- snakes don’t unhinge their jaws - their jaws don’t even connect, they just have super stretchy ligaments attached to their jaws

neurotypicals who use fidgets and stim toys because they find them personally helpful: YAY

neurotypicals who use fidgets and stim toys but treat them like their only purpose is to do cool tricks and have fun and subsequently treat the ones they find less fun as pointless: NAY

list of random spirits encountered:

- a spirit haunting a lamppost on 3rd street. it asks for the umbrella of anyone passing by in exchange for a temporary alteration in reality

- a spirit haunting people with burdens on their mind. manifests as a pair of wings on their shoulders

3… 2… 1… GO!

Make a to-do list
Write it down! You’ll know what you want to achieve, what you need to get done. That way you can work task by task and check things off.

  • Prioritize and break it down — larger tasks can be extremely overwhelming, so that shit break it down.
  • It’s easier to prioritize what to do now vs. later.
  • It makes it less daunting, more achievable and manageable.
  • Avoid: Overwhelming yourself, don’t stress yourself out about all the things you need to get done. Just write it down and don’t think about it until you’re actually working on it.

Why do you want to do it
What’s the reason behind it? Use it as fuel to motivate you! It’s good to focus on the good feelings when you achieve something, how completing a task makes you feel!

  • What are you gaining from it?
  • Is it to get the grades you want or require?
  • Is it for a career you’re trying to get?
  • Give yourself a reason!
  • Avoid: Being unrealistic, feeling like you have to be perfect. You just work on being you!

Start with something small
If you’re feeling frozen, start with something small to get the ball rolling!

  • Make your bed, have breakfast, check your emails!
  • You’ll feel like you’ve already accomplished something and it will give you the boost you need to kickstart on your major tasks!
  • Avoid: Getting caught up in all the little things, at some point you have to make the switch — priorities!

Touch it once
Aim to at least touch each task on your list once!

  • Take 2 minutes to get started, who knows, once you’ve started you might end up finishing the entire thing!
  •  At least if you just start it, you’ve already gotten somewhere.
  • If you keep doing that, you’ll eventually slowly progress each task!
  • Avoid: Only spending the minimum time on all tasks then thinking, ‘oh, I’ve touched each one, I can go have the rest of the day off’… NO! Go back and do it again, and try stick to one for awhile! But don’t forget to take breaks!

Have the correct mindset
Have you ever asked someone ‘how do you find the time to…’, well it’s all about utilizing the time you have.

  • Use your time in productive ways — listen to book whilst you shower, revise your notes while you catch up on your favourite tv shows!
  • Just do it — just start, once you’ve started you’re halfway there. Plus, you’ll thank yourself later!
  • Be easy on yourself — don’t feel bad about yourself, if you’ve procrastinated all day so what. Think of it as you needed some downtime for yourself. Go into tomorrow with goals you want to achieve and if you feel tempted to procrastinate, take a moment to think of why it’s important for you to get it done.
  • Make studying fun — treat yourself on your accomplishments, study in groups, listen to music, make your notes look fantastic, just whatever!
  • Be optimistic — instead of saying ‘I think and I hope’ say ‘I can and I will’.
  • Avoid: All negativity, you don’t need it. You know what you’re capable of so what’s stopping you?

Analyze your lifestyle habits
Look at your lifestyle as a whole. The decisions you’re making can actually affect your productivity level.

  • Are you getting enough sleep? This is a MAJOR priority not matter what.
  • Try going to sleep earlier and wake up earlier — by getting a good nights sleep you’ll feel refreshed, motivated and like you’re ready to achieve more of your tasks.
  • The food you’re eating, water you’re drinking — is there enough nutrients to fuel your body? By fueling your body with good, healthy foods you’ll get good outcomes.
  • We need to fuel our bodies so we function properly, don’t become fatigued and are able to excrete all the toxins from our bodies.
  • How can you expect your body to be productive for you if you’re not treating it well? Take care of yourself!
  • Avoid: Going to sleep late and straining your body. Don’t stay up late on social media, and I know you want to catch up on your fave tv shows but we all know how good sleep is!

Summer Themes

Hi everyone!

As promised, here are some of the theme suggestions for the Reaper76 Summer Event!

We don’t want to do set “day themes” like many of these event weeks do, but we do want to provide everyone with some ideas or inspiration.  You’re not limited to these, but some of them might help you get started or get the gears turning.

  • A day at the beach: it’s hard to think of summer without a trip to the beach! Gabriel’s home city of Los Angeles has several great beaches that might give you some inspiration!
    • Some ideas: Which one immediately jumps in the water?  Do either of them like building sand castles?  How does Jack react when seeing the ocean for the first time?
  • Setting up camp: many people like to go camping in the summer, not just for being outdoors but also to enjoy other activities like hiking, swimming, off-road driving and biking.
    • Some ideas: making smores, building campfires, watching sunrises and sunsets, stargazing
  • Hit the road, Jack: road trips are a quintessential summer pastime. Popular routes include Route 66 and California Highway 1.
    • Some ideas: how do they split driving time, and who is the bad driver?  Who gives bad directions?  How do they split music choices? Motel rooms?  What sights do they go see?
    • Some ideas: when do they take their big Americas road trip?  Who plans the route through Central America, who plans for Southern America?  Where do they visit?  What do they do in Mexico City?  Or Rio de Janiero?  Or Buenos Aires?  Or Santiago?  Do they visit the Amazon in Brazil, the Andes in Chile and Argentina, the cenotes of Mexico and Belize?  Trips across the United States are fun, but consider looking at the wonderful world beyond it - as an opportunity to explore and learn about new places and cultures.
  • We’re all golfers now: lots of sports take place in summer, including baseball, golf, swimming, surfing, and bike races
    • Soccer/fútbol: outside of the US, fútbol matches are popular in the summer.  Would Gabriel and Jack root for a specific team?
    • Lúcioball: which one wants to learn how to play Lúcioball?  Does the other come along and try to play?
  • Just Desserts: lots of great food come into season in the summer - things like watermelons, strawberries, peaches, nectarines, and especially corn (lol).  Ice cream and pies are fun treats in the summer.  Barbecued foods, hamburgers, ribs, steaks, and grilled chicken are all popular.
    • Some ideas: Favorite ice cream flavor?  Favorite fruit?  Who makes the better burger?
  • Welcome to Hollywood: it’s time for summer movie blockbusters!  What kind of movies would they want to see?  Who gets scared in the horror film?  Who wants to see the action flick?
    • Some ideas: What sights does Gabriel show Jack the first time he visits LA?  What are some of their favorite movies?  Do they visit movie sets?
  • Retirement doesn’t suit us: summer often means trips to new destinations.  Where do two supersoldiers go in their time off?  The world is wide with many cool places to visit and see!
    • Some ideas: How do they react to seeing Dorado for the first time?  Or Hanamura?  Which one is the space nerd who wants to visit the Lijiang Tower?  Which one is the history nerd who wants to see Ilios or Giza?
    • Some ideas: Does Gabriel suggest going to Mexico to visit family?  What places does he show Jack?  What foods do they eat, what music do they experience?
    • Some ideas: who wants to take a trip to China?  Who wants to visit India?  Do they run into junkers in Australia?  What do they think when they visit Numbani in Nigeria for the first time?  How do they react to visiting Gibraltar?
  • Like the stars: did you know fireflies are not found in the western United States? How does Gabriel react to seeing fireflies in Indiana for the first time?
  • Now those are some fireworks: the 4th of July is Independence Day for the United States. Celebrated with barbecues, baseball games, neighborhood and family get-togethers, and fireworks large and small.
  • Summertime Romance: sometimes a love lasts a summer, sometimes it lasts a lifetime (or two).  How do Gabriel and Jack spend over twenty summers together?  Do they do anything special for just the two of them?

Hope these themes help spark your imaginations!   We’re super excited that so many people are interested in participating!  Please feel free to send us any questions or ideas, and best of luck to everyone creating some R76 content for the event!

Remember, the event begins July 4th and ends July 18th!  You can start submitting art, fics, graphics, and content to the tag #reaper76summerevent, or send us a link on the blog!

Have fun, and let the summer sparks fly!

[I demand unlimited access to your ask box at all times, for the important questions I have about many topics. What kind of underwear does Sasster wear?]

the embarrassing kind.

sometimes it’s easy to forget he’s just a grumpy old man, until you see his undies
tbf he does wear boxers in warm weather but that’s not nearly as hilarious

(it’s ok, I know an ask from Voidster when I see one ;) )

eyes burning a way through me
overwhelm, destroying so sweetly
now there is a fire within me
a fire that burns

What started out as vent art turned into a fun experiment with colors. I’m just trying to have fun with my art and start enjoying drawing again.

This is Caesyl, my wildfire-themed Sylvari Druid. He’s a Secondborn and former Warden of the Grove turned Soundless after escaping imprisonment and torture at the hands of the Nightmare Court. His brother, who was captured with him, wasn’t as fortunate, however; instead of freedom, he willingly accepted Nightmare. Caesyl blames himself for their capture and his brother’s corruption and still hasn’t quite recovered from the ordeal, even after all these years.

Fun fact: He has a soft spot for cats, and his best friend and companion is a panther named Moira.

Happy #Toonsday everyone! Here’s a fun little treat for you Tex Avery, Joe Murray, and John R. Dilworth fans out there!

Sarah takes this funny business thing very seriously. Here she is warming up for an important shoot. She makes sure to stretch (and squash) before every session so she’s ready for anything the cartoon calls for! It takes hard work and practice to make this look good!

I worry about them sometimes, I really do

Alright, it was pretty cute.

me when i have to accept the crushing reality that bismuth will never come back unless its plot relevant because thats how these writers treat their black coded characters

me when i gotta accept that im also desperate for bismuth’s return and i just want the poor gem to have some proper acknowledgement and closure so i convince myself that she’s coming back waiting for the inevitable anger and disappointment to hit me like a bus
