“Just take a look around the world and you’ll find that nearly all mass media (FOX, CNN, NBC, MSNBC, etc) is owned and controlled by a handful of (the same) conservative capitalists. We must devise and implement an alternative method of distributing OUR news, OUR information, OUR ideas…people united world wide can take a stand and tell the TRUTH”

Fuck super bowl 50.

I’m from San Francisco and I don’t think people understand how horrible it is to live in a city that pours money into events, remodeling and renovation for rich people from other places. We have no affordable housing for working class families, our homeless and mentally ill population is off the charts and I won’t even fucking start on the gentrification. Build fucking housing with that money not a “mini-town for fans”….and I don’t mean fucking condos motherfucker.

Entitlement Is Good!

I haven’t posted anything on my Tumblr for four years now because not only have I been busy and haven’t felt I’ve had a lot to say, but I’ve also become incredibly disenchanted with the whole social web thing in general – that’s a whole post or series of posts unto itself, or not if I stick to my guns and more or less continue refusing to participate in the culture of narcissism… we’ll see.

This other day however, I got one of those what’s happening on Tumblr emails and read a repost by someone I met online about five years ago when I was in a very dark place (thanks again http://jhnbrssndn.com/) and connecting it to something I read the day before by another blogger I highly admire finally broke my self imposed silence, apathy, or whatever it is.

Considering the infrequency of my social web activity, I don’t expect anyone to read this, much less care, but if nothing else the catharsis of writing is satisfying, though prepare yourselves! It’s not going to be pretty, or positive or self congratulatory.

Anyhow, read John’s repost: http://jhnbrssndn.com/post/76877491725/when-people-can-see-with-their-own-eyes-that-a or the original: http://kohenari.net/post/76876076939/deserving-talent-wealth or the original article that spawned the meta: http://mobile.nytimes.com/2014/02/16/business/yes-the-wealthy-can-be-deserving.html

Then read Kontra’s incisive, connecting of the obvious dots regarding the latest monopolist merger: http://counternotions.com/2014/02/17/monopolists/

And for good measure this outing of the secret Wall Street fraternity Kappa Beta Phi: http://nymag.com/daily/intelligencer/2014/02/i-crashed-a-wall-street-secret-society.html

This is what our collective delusion of “free market capitalism” has wrought. Certainly hard work should be rewarded, but given the entitled and corrupt behavior that the wealthy repeatedly display and are encouraged to pursue in our wealth and fame obsessed culture, I actually feel quite justified in resenting them, especially when so many of the ultra-rich openly resent the poor and ever shrinking middle class with such vehemence, paranoia and vitriol.

Sort version. Fuck the rich! They’ve got pretty much everything already, they don’t deserve our respect and adulation just for existing.

Thanks to Portland city council for helping to make the life of underpaid workers in this city just a little bit easier. No thanks to my employers who don’t give enough of a shit to ensure health insurance coverage, sick pay benefits, or any benefits at all to speak of, to their employees. Enjoy your profits and bonuses, I still can’t afford basic medical care for basic personal issues. #wealthdisparity #sickpay #socialism #fucktherich
