I love your writting! I was wondering could u write something about Zach Fucale? something cute like a lazy morning together?
*Hiii! Thank you so much! I hope you like this one. Rather short but I swear it’s sweet and cute. :) Enjoy!!*
Word count: 773
Why does it feel like it’s still six in the morning when
your body clock is telling you that it’s almost noon? Rolling on your back, you
reached for your phone to look at the time and, true enough, it’s eleven
thirty-eight. Groaning, you pushed the covers off and started to sit up.
You haven’t even straightened when an arm gripped your waist
and pulled you back into the bed, trapping you with his leg and arm.
his nose against your neck and murmured sleepily, “where you goin?”
Requested by @fearfuloffailure: Hey, so Zach Fucale please and maybe something fluffy? Like the start of the relationship or he asks you to be his girlfriend or something? Idk, I know whatever you write will be amazing <3
“Zach, this isn’t a couple miles!” You complain, trying to keep up with Zach as you two climb up the hill.
Zach and you have been seeing each other for months now, but ‘it’s complicated’ doesn’t begin to cover it. Zach is too focus on hockey, too determined to get better, too eager to play on the NHL, to actually think about having a relationship.
“Less whining and more walking, babe.” Zach says, climbing up a rock and offering you his hand for you to take so he can help you up.
You two aren’t dating, but it sure as hell looks like it. You go on dates, hold hands, have lazy days just the two of you… but he won’t make it official. You are tired of the ‘just friends’, because for you he wasn’t just a friend, he was much more. But this has been going on for way too long and your patience is running thin.
“Where are we going anyways?” You ask, taking his hand and climbing on top of the rock with him.
“If I tell you it wouldn’t be a surprise.” Zach says, pecking the tip of your nose. “Let’s go, we are gonna be late.”
“Late? Late for what?” You inquire as Zach resumes the hike.
When Zach asked you if you wanted to go for a ‘hike’ you didn’t think that the ‘hike’ would actually be an actual proper hike, but you have found yourself following Zach’ steps on dirt roads and uphills.
“Too many questions.” He chuckles, waiting up for you to catch up with him to intertwine his fingers with yours, walking alongside you on a slower path.
“How do you know about this place?” You wonder, enjoying Zach’s touch. He has been away on a string of away games, so you haven’t seen him in a while and you’ve missed how your body reacts to him at the slightest touch.
“Frustration takes you to more places than curiosity.” He says criptly.
“Care you elaborate?” You chuckle, squeezing his bigger hand softly.
“I found it after a particularly bad game… I couldn’t just go home, I was too angry and frustrated, so I drove around until I found the sign on the road that points at this place.” He stops talking for a second and you give him an encouraging look. “I parked the car and started walking, and the more I walked the best I felt… I come here now every time I need to be alone and clear my mind.”
You chew on his words, taking in everything he has just said. This place was his place, his safe place, the place he came to when he needed to be alone… and he is sharing it with you. You are so busy thinking about this that you don’t realize that you have made it to the top of the hill.
“Just in time.” Zach says, dragging you to chair looking rock. It has a flat part where you can sit and a part where you can lean in. How convenient.
You are about to sit in between Zach’s legs when you see it, the view. You can see the city of Toronto from here, far away in distance with just a couple buildings that are recognizable. The sun is setting, tinting the sky with shades of orange, red and pink, and giving the landscape a magical vibe.
“This is beautiful.” You whisper, leaning on Zach, your back against his chest as he wraps his arms around you.
“You are beautiful.” He answers, kissing your temple absent-mindly.
Both of you stay quiet for a while, enjoying the views and each other’s company as you two give away innocent caresses. The silence is comfortable and you distract yourself following with your finger the veins that are more noticeable under his skin.
“Thanks for bringing me here.” You whisper as he kisses the corner of your mouth.
“Thanks for coming with me.” He whispers back, pulling you even closer to him. “And I’m sorry that I’ve been such an idiot to you.”
“What are you talking about? You are always great t –” You try to complain, but Zach cuts you off.
“I’ve been so focused on what I wanted that I haven’t realized that maybe I wasn’t giving you enough, (y/n).” You are gonna start complaining again, but he doesn’t let you. “Let me finish, babe. Please.” He begs and you nod, resting your head on his shoulder. “This season has been rough, but you have been there for me every time I needed you. You help me unwind and you help me see that there is more in life that just hockey.”
Zach has practiced this speech a million times in his head, but now he is stumbling with his words, so you squeeze his hand reassuringly, letting him know that he has all your attention.
“You have been there for me, even though I haven’t been the greatest to you. What I want to say is –” He starts, but chokes with his own words. “Fuck, what I want to say is that I want you to be mine. I want you to be my girlfriend. I don’t want your smile to disappear every time someone asks us what we are and we say ‘friends’. I want –”
“Yes, Zach. I want to officially be your girlfriend.” You are the one cutting him off this time.
“ – you to be proud of what we have… Wait what?”
“Yes, I’ll be your girlfriend.” You repeat.
Zach holds your chin in between this thumb and index finger and crashes his lips with yours. You two have kissed countless times before, but this time feels different, it is more tender and loving, and you melt against his lips.
“Is it too early to say that I love you?” Zach asks as soon as you break the kiss to gasp for some air. Your stomach fills up with butterflies as you shake your head. “I love you, (y/n).”
You sighed, turning your iPod on, you grabbed plastic
containers out of the cabinet, beginning to clean up the untouched dinner you
had prepared. Zach had been stressed recently, he had a lot on his mind. The tiniest
part of you wanted to be mad at him, but you were more concerned that he was
okay. It wasn’t like him to be late, much less not show up to something the two
of you had planned. You were putting the last of the dishes into the dishwasher
when you heard the door open. Moments later you heard Zach shuffle into the
kitchen, turning when you heard him drop his bag on the floor.
“Fuck, (Y/N). I’m so sorry.” Zach said earnestly, the
realization that he had missed date night just dawning on him.
