from the moment we started talking i knew that i wanted you around

Imagine Bill letting it slip that you are dating during an interview.

Bill himself chuckled as he took in the sight of you looking stunning as ever in your red dress, standing on your tiptoes even if you were wearing high heels to kiss his cheek; one hand on his chest and the other on your shoulder as he had an arm wrapped around your waist and the other cupping your cheek.

He didn’t even know how they had managed to snap that photo because it wasn’t exactly in front of the cameras. You had mostly been standing on the side with his brothers, and great friends of yours, and he had rushed to you to get that good luck kiss. He didn’t expect there to be evidence of that so he was glad he’d kept himself from kissing you properly on the lips.

“(Y/n) and you.” he completed with a smile, glancing for a moment at the enthusiastic audience “You two-” he turned back to the actor “You two are great friends right? I’m- I’m just asking because that could, you know, be misinterpreted by some.” he motioned to the photo, giving a look at the audience and everybody laughed at that.

winter-and-little-brunettes  asked:

Oooo, for the prompt thing, what about Lance talking to Keith in a quiet moment where the BoM and Voltron are actually in the same room about why Keith really left... Like, what was the 'other' part of the reason Keith left? Lance probably thinks it has something to do with hiiimmmmmmm

Lance sits in the common room with Keith next to him. Their knees touch slightly. Lance sighs and listens to the sounds of Hunk hovering over something in the kitchen and Pidge entering some numbers into her laptop. Shiro confers quietly on the other side of the room with Allura, Kolivan, and a couple of other blades. The setting is familiar. It’s comfortable. Lance smiles to himself and turns to murmur something quietly to Keith when he pauses.

Ah. Of course.

Where he eyes should meet shades of red he only sees purple. He sighs. Reality comes crushing back.

“Yes?” Keith waits expectantly. Lance shakes his head. His hand gently reaches out to lower Keith’s hood. His fingertips brush against his pale cheek.

“God, pull this down when you’re in here. Your cool, mysterious act fools no one.” Lance smirks. Keith pulls his face away with a pout.

“Just hiding my mullet from you.”

“You gonna try to grow it into a sweet braid?” Lance sneers. He nods over to where Kolivan stands. “Get a super long one like Kolivan and whip your enemies with it?” He moves his head in slow arcs like he’s in a shampoo commercial. Keith frowns… then caves. He smiles shyly.

“No, that would be a huge disadvantage. Enemies could grab me by it.”

“You should tie your knife to the end of it and just SCHWING! SCHWIP!”

Keith laughs at Lance’s sound effects. He can’t remember the last time he laughed like this.

“Keith! Are you paying attention?” Kolivan turns over his shoulder. Imposing and serious as always.

“Yes sir!” Keith sits up. Kolivan nods, then resumes talking to Shiro.

“Jeez,” Lance scoots close so that their sides are against each other. His breath fans against Keith’s ear.

“No fun allowed.”

“You don’t get to be leader by telling jokes.” Keith chuckles. He lets his head turn and he realises how incredibly close he is to Lance. Lance’s expression is relaxed and looks at Keith with lidded eyes and a lazy smile.

“Are you having fun?”

“W….what?” Keith’s pulse starts to hammer. Had he been caught staring.

“With the blades. Are you having fun there?” Lance’s eyes narrow curiously. Keith relaxes. He doesn’t pull away when Lance slides his arm behind him on the couch.

“Fun is… not the word I’d use…”

“Come back then.”

“I can’t…”

“Keith…”

“Lance…” Keith sighs. “I’m needed there.”

“We need you here.”

“No you don’t, I’m superfluous. We have six paladins and only five lions. Shiro is a better leader than me so…”

“So I’ll sit out!”

“No!” Keith suddenly reaches for Lance’s arm. He grips it tightly. His eyes look panicked. “No I don’t want that.”

Lance scowls. His mouth forms a hard line and he pulls his arm away.

“Is that what this is all about?” His voice is dangerously low. “You leaving just so I get a lion?”

“No! No!” Keith shakes his head aggressively. “Lance I…”

“Please, Keith please don’t be the reason you left.” This time it’s Lance that initiates the contact. He gently touches Keith’s thigh. It’s warm. Keith heaves out a long sigh.

“Lance… you are much more important to this team then you realise.” Keith picks up his gaze and forces a smile. “That day… when you came to me and told me about how we need our best paladins to make our strongest team?” He huffs a humourless laugh.

“I never doubted that you would be in a lion. You are one of our best, Lance. I said to not worry about it, because I knew that you would always be in a lion. Maybe not blue, maybe not even Red but…” Keith smiles. He puts his hand on top of Lance’s. Lance stares dumbstruck.

“You’ll always be needed in Voltron.” Keith smiles wider.

“We need you too.” Lance leans closer. Keith shakes his head.

“I’m just a pilot. And good at stabbing things, but you…” Keith leans forward. He dares to cup lance’s cheek with his hand. Lance blushes up to his ears.

“Lance you do things that I could never do. You lift the team up. You’re good with plans and knowing when to fight and when to run. You keep this team together.”

“Then why can’t I keep you?”

Keith’s hand drops. He feels floored. Air escapes his lungs in a rush. He blinks several times as he tries to compose himself. As he tries to build up his walls again in the face of Lance’s brutal honesty.

“I didn’t leave so you could stay.” He swallows. “But I knew I could leave, because the team still had you and Shiro.”

Lance pouts. He’s not satisfied but he knows this isn’t the place to argue. He falls forward until his head thumps against Keith’s shoulder.

“Come back in one piece, you hear?”

Keith wraps his arms around Lance’s middle. He tries to burn the feel of his jacket, the warmth, the weight against his chest into his memory. He isn’t sure when the next time he’ll be able to do this again.

“I will.”

Lance chuckles. It surprises Keith.

“I can’t believe you’re not embarrassed hugging me in front of your new dad.”

“He’s not my new dad.”

“But do you think he’ll yell at you if he sees you getting sentimental?”

Keith hums.

“Yeah, but I’ll fight him.” He chuckles and squeezes Lance tighter.

“My money’s on Kolivan.”

“Hey,”

“Dude, you’re tiny. Have you seen you with the other blades? It’s hilarious.” Lance laughs into Keith’s chest. It’s warm and rumbles pleasantly. Keith smiles and melts further into the couch.

Perspective | I wanted to understand why racists hated me. So I befriended Klansmen.
My collection of robes and hoods is still growing.

By Daryl Davis,  September 29 at 6:00 AM:  Daryl Davis, author of “Klan-Destine Relationships,” and subject of the documentary “Accidental Courtesy,” is an award-winning musician, actor, lecturer and race relations expert.

“One night in 1983, I found myself playing in a country band at a truck stop lounge. I was the only black person in the joint. Taking a break after the first set of music, I was headed to sit at a table with my bandmates when a white gentleman approached from behind and put his arm around my shoulders. “I really enjoy y’all’s music,” he said. I shook his hand and thanked him. “This is the first time I ever heard a black man play piano like Jerry Lee Lewis,” he continued.

I told him that Lewis was a friend of mine and that he had learned his style from watching and listening to black blues and boogie-woogie pianists. My new fan didn’t buy it, but he did want to buy me a drink. While we sipped, he clinked my glass and said, “This is the first time I ever sat down and had a drink with a black man.”

Why? “I’m a member of the Ku Klux Klan,” he said. I burst out laughing. Then he handed me his KKK membership card, and I recognized the Klan’s symbols. In that moment, I was overcome by a question: How could anybody hate me when they didn’t even know me?

I was no stranger to racism. Having grown up a black person in the ’60s and ’70s, I knew that prejudice was common. But I had never understood why. Sitting in that lounge with my new friend, I decided to figure it out in the only way that made sense: By getting to know those who felt hostility toward black people without ever having known any.

Several years later, I recruited that man, whose name was Frank James, to put me in contact with the grand dragon of the Maryland Klan. He tried to deter me, warning that the leader would kill me. But eventually, after I promised not to reveal how I’d gotten the grand dragon’s contact information, James gave it to me.

By then I had decided to travel around the country and interview KKK leaders and members from various chapters and factions to get the answer to my question: How can you hate someone you’ve never met? I was planning to write a book detailing my interviews, experiences and encounters with these Ku Klux Klan members. (The book, “Klan-Destine Relationships,” was published in 1998.)

I had my white secretary, who typically booked my band and assisted me with my music business, set up a meeting with the Maryland grand dragon, explaining that her boss was writing a book on the Klan and would like his input. Per my instructions, she did not reveal the color of my skin.

The grand dragon agreed to participate, and we secured a room at a Frederck, Maryland motel, where my secretary filled an ice bucket with cans of soda so I could offer my guest a drink. Regardless of how and what he felt about me, if he entered my room after seeing the color of my skin, I was going to treat him with hospitality.

Punctual to the minute, there was a knock on the door. The grand nighthawk (the grand dragon’s bodyguard) entered first, and then the dragon himself. “Hello,” I began, “I’m Daryl Davis.” I offered my palm, and the dragon shook my hand as he and the nighthawk introduced themselves. The dragon sat in the chair I had set out, and the nighthawk stood at attention beside him.

We were both apprehensive of the other, and the interview started haltingly. We discussed what he had hoped to achieve by joining the Klan; what his thoughts were on blacks, Asians, Jews and Hispanics; and whether he thought it would ever be possible for different races to get along. A little while later, we heard an inexplicable crackling noise and we both tensed. The dragon and I stared each other in the eye, silently asking, “What did you just do?” The nighthawk reached for his gun. Nobody spoke. I barely breathed.

Seated atop the dresser, my secretary realized what had happened: The ice in the bucket had started to melt, causing the soda cans to shift. It happened again, and we all began laughing. From there, the interview went on without a hitch.

It was a perfect illustration that ignorance breeds fear and possibly violence. An unknown noise in an ice bucket could’ve led to gunfire, had we not taken a moment to understand what we were encountering.

Even though the grand dragon, who now prefers not to be named, had told me he knew that white people were superior to blacks, our dialogue continued over the years. He would visit me in my home, and I would eventually be a guest in his. We would share many meals together, even though he thought I was inferior. Within a couple of years, he rose to the rank of imperial wizard, the top national leadership position in the Klan.

Over the past 30 years, I have come to know hundreds of white supremacists, from KKK members, neo-Nazis and white nationalists to those who call themselves alt-right. Some were good people with wrong beliefs, and others were bad people hellbent on violence and the destruction of those who were non-Aryan.

There was Bob White, a grand dragon for Maryland who served four years in prison for conspiring to bomb a synagogue in Baltimore, where he had been a police officer. When he got out, he returned to the Klan and later went back to prison for three more years for assaulting two black men with a shotgun, evidently intent on murder. But after I reached out to him with a letter while he was in prison for the second time, Bob became a very good friend, renounced the Klan and attended my wedding.

Imperial Wizard Frank Ancona, who headed one of the largest Klan groups in the country, would also become a very close friend. When Frank was killed this year (his wife and stepson have been charged with his murder), one of his Klan members, knowing how close we had been, called me and told me before notifying the police. I accepted the Klan’s invitation to participate in his funeral service.

Three weeks after this summer’s violent clash in Charlottesville, I was invited by the leaders of the Tennessee and Kentucky chapters of Ancona’s branch of the Klan to speak at their national Konvocation. I accepted, spoke and took audience questions after the lecture. Whether or not anyone there immediately changed their minds, we talked as people — and we all benefitted from that.

I am not so naive as to think everyone will change. There are certainly those who will go to their graves as hateful, violent racists. I never set out certain that I would convert anyone. I just wanted to have a conversation and ask, “How can you hate me when you don’t even know me?” What I’ve learned is that whether or not I’ve changed minds, talking can still relieve tensions. I’ve seen firsthand that when two enemies are talking, they are not fighting. They may be yelling and beating their fists on the table, but at least they are talking. Violence happens only when talking has stopped.

And sometimes, people do change. One day in 1999, after having been in the Ku Klux Klan for about 20 years, the Klan leader from the motel interview, whom I watched go from grand dragon to imperial wizard, called me, said he was leaving the Klan and apologized for having been a member. He told me he could no longer hate people. I had not turned out to be what he had always thought of black people. He went on to become one of my best friends, and today I own his robe and hood — one set of many in my collection of garments donated to me by apostate Klansmen and Klanswomen,

which is always growing.”

When did Lucy fall in love with Natsu?

There’s been so many essay-like posts around tumblr talking about when and where Natsu first realised he was in love with Lucy, but I’ve never actually seen any regarding when Lucy’s feelings started. So I thought I’d share my own opinionated theory!

I feel as though Lucy’s feelings for Natsu took a lot longer for her to realise than Natsu’s, so let’s start from the beginning:

Episodes 1-50:

At this point, the story as well as Natsu and Lucy’s relationship is very much in the starting stages; there simply isn’t a whole lot to it. Neither of them have even considered a relationship, especially not with each other. Lucy may have her “knight in shining armour” fantasies, (as we see in ending 1 of the anime), but that is the most we get.

Episode 50:

Episode 50 is where things start to get more interesting.

After the hilarious scenario of Lucy believing Natsu has a crush on her because of Mira’s meddling, she has now become self aware of the fact people mistake her and Natsu as a couple. Because of this, she starts to picture it in her mind and perhaps imagine what it would be like if they were in a relationship.

Again, though, this is still very early stages in their development, so she will continue to deny any sort of feelings for Natsu.

Episode 122:

The Tenrou Island arc in general was a huge step for NaLu’s relationship, especially on Natsu’s part as that was when (as many of us have speculated) he first realised he was in love with Lucy. Sadly, though, Lucy is nowhere near the love stage at this point.

During Acnologia’s attack in episode 122, Lucy is crying because she thinks it’s all over. Naturally Natsu overhears this, and of course the first thing he does is reassure her that it isn’t the end.

Now, I think the look Lucy gives Natsu after saying this is really significant:

This isn’t a look of love or anything, as I said earlier we’re still far from Lucy being in love with Natsu. Rather, this is her beginning to toy with the idea of liking Natsu. In this moment she cannot confidently say “I like Natsu”, but she is far more aware of it, and knows deep down that there is a slight possibility it could happen. However, at this stage she will still continue to deny any feelings for him.

Episode 123-End of Tartaros Arc

I know this is a really big time jump, but the end of Tartaros is where things start to pick up. Throughout this time, Natsu and Lucy’s characters and relationship develops immensely. I’m not going to dish out every example otherwise we’d be here for weeks, but it’s safe to say Lucy’s feelings have begun to develop, although she is still on the fence of “Do I like him” or “Is he just a friend”.

Chapter 468:

I’m going to skip the beginning of the Alvarez arc, because I know we’ve all heard the theories and opinions on Lucy’s angst a million times, and although their relationship does develop, it’s not enough for me to talk about. After all, a lot of those chapters illustrated Natsu’s feelings more than Lucy’s.

Chapter 468 is when Lucy’s feelings take a huge step forward. For those unaware, Natsu had gone off on his own, (with Happy), to try and defeat Zeref, and Lucy has basically spent most of her time worrying about him.

A few chapters later, (Chapter 468), Happy returns to the guild, but Natsu is unconscious, and Lucy’s face says it all:

Then she realises that Natsu’s heart isn’t beating:

And begs Brandish to save him:

Natsu being faced with death is the last thing Lucy would expect from a war. After all, he’s one of the strongest wizards she knows. So for him to be lying there in front of her, unconscious and his heart not beating, Lucy is absolutely terrified.

This, ladies and gentlemen, is the point where Lucy realises that she likes Natsu, because she cannot picture a world without him in it. After over a year of contemplation, she has finally reached the conclusion that she likes her best friend, meaning she would gladly consider a relationship with him, if it weren’t for the current circumstances, of course.

She isn’t in love with him yet, she simply wouldn’t mind the idea of a relationship. Of course she will still deny her feelings because she doesn’t want people to know, after all she’s only just figured it out herself, however you will notice she is definitely less upfront about it:

Of course she gets flustered and blushes over it, however she doesn’t explicitly deny it. Now, this could just be a translation error, I don’t have access to official translations, so please don’t quote me on it, but in this frame she’s simply saying that wasn’t what she meant, not that she isn’t, (as quoted by Ever), “head over heels for him”. See, she isn’t denying that she likes him, but she isn’t exactly singing on the rooftops that she has feelings for him. Remember, this is all still very new to her.

Now, throughout the rest of the Alvarez arc, you can see that Lucy is incredibly protective over Natsu:

This protectiveness is Lucy’s feelings developing more and more. She knows that she likes Natsu, and therefore will now be even more worried about the possibility of losing him, and wants to continuously protect him at all costs, as we can see from the screenshots.

Chapter 545:

Like I said at the beginning of this opinion/theory, Lucy takes a lot longer to comprehend her feelings for Natsu, which is why I believe that she only realises that she is in love with him in the final chapter.

I did a whole other opinion/theory explaining what each NaLu panel in the final chapter means, so I’m not gonna go into loads of detail here. (If you want to read that theory click here #shamelessselfpromo)

ANYWAY, I think the moment Lucy finally realises she loves Natsu is here:

Memories come flooding back to her old jobs with Natsu. All these memories cause this sudden realisation that her feelings for Natsu are far more than just “I like him”. She loves him. She’s spent such a long time toying with her feelings and throwing them back and forth, that shes finally figured out that she can’t keep throwing them around forever. She needs to come to that conclusion and she finally has.

Granted, she has only come to this realisation, so she’s not just going to burst out and say “I love you”, but she does do something equally as meaningful:

She hugs him. I touched on what this hug means in my other theory, so again I’m not going to go into heaps of detail, but I will say this. Lucy is new to romance. As is Natsu. Neither of them are just going to say “I love you” because it just isn’t like them to do something that stereotypical of two people in love. This hug is her way of expressing her love for Natsu.

What happens next is controversial. Every single person has a different opinion on it but I’m just going to say it how I believe it.

Natsu was going to kiss Lucy. You may be asking “well if Lucy loves Natsu why did she stutter and say wait?”. You have to remember and keep in mind that Lucy has only just realised that she is in love with him. Her feelings are all over the place and it is all so new to her. It’s all a big shock and a lot to take in, so of course she’s going to stutter and be all nervous; this is her first time feeling this way about anyone. However, because she is aware that she is in love with him, she doesn’t push him away, she doesn’t try to get out of his grip. Instead, she closes her eyes and opens her mouth. She wants Natsu to kiss her.

Of course we know that there was no kiss, but I think the most important thing here is that she would have gladly accepted the kiss and would not have regretted it, because she is in love with Natsu.

So that’s it! It’s annoying to think that Lucy took painfully longer to realise her feelings than Natsu did, but I truly believe that this was the moment she knew that she was in love with him.

As I said before I’ve never really seen any posts regarding Lucy’s feelings towards Natsu, or if I have they haven’t been in immense detail, so this was really fun to write and figure out!

Let me know what you all think <3

The beautiful white hid the imperfections, hid the flaws that laid just below the surface a step away from being seen, and in some ways you were jealous you couldn’t be covered by the snow yourself. Your troubles couldn’t be hidden from view with a simple change of the weather; they were in the forefront of your mind and beginning to strain at your muscles. You didn’t want to deal with it, didn’t want to face the reality that things with Chanyeol were making the doubt bubble over in your chest, his quiet pleads for you to not leave him whispering in your ear over and over like a skipping record as you watched the snow fall.

Seven twenty-three.

The clock taunted you, reminding you that this god foresaken party had hours left to go.

Amongst all of the sharp-dressed men and elegant women, you were the only young person in the vincity, no one being under the age of thirty five. It was awkward and boring because you literally had no one to talk to, on a casual-level that was.

Jimin would usually come to the parties just to save you from dying of bordem, but he had other plans tonight. Like almost every teenager on a Friday night, save for your stupid self.

Slowly, you made your way to the staircase and looked around, checking to see if anyone was paying any attention to you so they wouldn’t call out or question your departure. After failing to notice anyone paying attention, you sneakily made your way up the stairs - to your freedom.

On the way up, you couldn’t help but to feel like you were being watched, eyes trained on your back, but you figured it was just paranoia and continued upwards with quick steps.

Tonight your father was hosting one of the parties for his work, which at one point in time used to be glamarous in your eyes. Back when your mother was still alive, you looked forward to the parties because you and her always went shopping for new dresses and got your hair done, pampered yourselves for the special occasion.

Now, they were simply boring and quite honestly inconvenient.

BACK WITH ANOTHER ONE-SHOT!!! I told you guys I’d have some canonverse klangst, so here it is! Longer than my usual one-shots, and while I don’t want to give a vague summary… there’s a bomb involved. So. Yeah, that’s a thing.

This one is actually inspired by this absolutely gorgeous, angsty art/mini-comic by @littlecofiegirl who is an amazing artist that you should definitely check out!!

I saw this comic on my dash and I loved it so much that I was immediately inclined to write for it? Anyway, here it is! I hope you enjoy!

The plan had been going flawlessly.

Key word being had.

Shiro and Lance were both searching opposite sides of the base for their captured teammate, and Pidge and Hunk were too occupied giving Shiro directions through the maze-like corridors that they neglected to warn Lance of the approaching Galra heat signature.

A cat blocked his path in the hall, staring at him with large, yellow eyes. It didn’t move to attack, but it also didn’t run away.

“Um… guys?” Lance tried over the coms, lowering his gun just a bit. He wasn’t about to shoot a cat, but he still wanted to be on guard.

He didn’t hear the Galra behind him until her hand was on his shoulder.

That was mistake number one.

Maybe, if I post every time this happens, abled people will stop thinking that this sort of thing is rare.

A while back I was sitting by the restaurant in Ikea and using my phone while I waited for Marvin to buy some things.

I was seated at one of four high-backed chairs arranged around a low coffee table. Across the table from me was a stranger, his young son sat in the chair to the right of me, and his daughter, who was about nine-years-old, sat on the floor at the coffee table. She was colouring and her brother was playing on a DS.

Their father stared at me while pretending he wasn’t. It’s pretty obvious when someone is watching you from eight feet away, though. I didn’t get angry vibes so I wasn’t concerned and just pointedly ignored him while catching Pidgey after Pidgey.

My phone had a semi-transparent, soft plastic case on it. I usually covered it with cute stickers. At that time, it had large words written in sharpie on the back that said, “It’s rude to stare”.

I was absorbed in my game when the stranger across from me laughed suddenly, loudly, and pointed me out to his daughter.

“Her phone says, ‘It’s rude to stare’,” he said.

He chuckled and looked at my face, expecting an explanation.

I stared at him.

He stared back.

I sighed.

“Oh, yeah. People stare at me a lot,” Just like you were, I thought. I waved my phone to show off the words. “So I wrote that on there. So, yeah.”

I went back to my game. Guy chuckled again.

“Really, people stare at you? Why?” He asked.

I looked up from my phone. I stared at him.

He stared back. I raised my eyebrows. He kept waiting for an answer.

I held up the butterfly-printed cane that had been leaning against my legs by way of explanation. “Sometimes I use a walker or wheelchair, too.”

“And people stare?” He pressed.

“Yep,” I said shortly.

“Wow. Well, you know, I think it’s probably because of their own personal fear.”

I seriously bristled at that. The tone was awful, really patronizing.

“Yeah. Seeing disabled people in public is a real shock. We remind people of their own mortality,” I said humourlessly, adding in some sarcastic laughter for good measure. I tried to signal my disinterest by lowering my head and leaning over my phone screen.

“Yeah-” he said, charging full speed ahead like he didn’t even need me for this conversation. He clearly had something to say all prepared.

"And you know, it’s funny. But I used to be scared of- people- people with disabilities,” he said, with a smile and lean-in, touching his fingertips together, making me want to punch his face.

I was in a bit of social shock. I just kept thinking, are you kidding me? This Ikea food court confession is happening right now, huh?

“Not physical disabilities, but mental disabilities.”

He was so smarmy, you guys. When he said that, I think my soul left my body. And I had no idea how to either respond or extricate myself reasonably.

I hesitated, looked from this guy to his children, who were watching the exchange with awkward interest.

“Oh. Uh. Well, I’m autistic, so…” I let my words trail off. To this day I have no idea where that sentence would have gone.

“Oh. Oh! But I mean, you can’t tell,” he turned tomato red. “You’re so well-spoken and- I guess you could say that you have really overcome.”

As he was fumbling, I was giving him an exaggerated but sincerely felt grimace and an unimpressed "ehhh”.

At his pronouncement of my overcoming, I sat up straight and said, loudly and pissed enough that his children started looking worried, “Uh, yikes. No.”

Guy’s daughter looked like she would rather he did anything but continue talking, but that’s what he did. Like any allistic abled white dude worth his salt /s, he powered through, ignoring my obvious and projected displeasure.

“But, I mean. In school, it’s funny, because it ended up that most of my friends were handicapped. I guess I kind of protected them-” His voice took on an artificially soft, sticky quality. It was at this moment that I snapped.

“Okay. I’m going to cut you off there,” I said. I put my hand up. His tomato face spoiled.

“What? Why?” He seemed torn between expressing frustration and wanting to appear kind-hearted and open-minded in front of his children.

“Well. Uh. Ugh,“ I looked at his kids, wondering how harsh or how kind I should be. I hated that he put me in this spot. In that moment I hated him so much.

"Well, you’re saying a lot of stuff that non-disabled people think is nice to hear, but it’s not. It’s just- it’s just not.” I knew it was pointless to try to explain. My words were failing fast. He didn’t really care, anyway.

“I wouldn’t even be able to explain it to you,” I shrugged.

He gaped at me. Now he was angry. This wasn’t going how he had wanted it to.

“I know you’re coming from a good place. But it’s not nice. It’s just not… yeah.” I gripped the handle of my cane in one hand and my phone, Pokémon Go forgotten, in the other. I fought the urge to literally run away. I felt the surreal pressure of my behaviour being one of these kids’ formative disability-related experiences.

“Oh. Uh. Well. Okay. Sorry,” he said, embarrassed, not sorry. “And uh, thanks for saying that,” he said, trying to get me back. I looked away.

“I just-” he started. Even his children looked unhappily surprised that he was trying for that last word.

“I just want to say that you’re great.

I didn’t look at him. I smiled at his daughter, who smiled back out of habit, more confused than anything. His son looked down at his DS, secondhand embarrassment turning him red too.

“Hmm. Well, your kids seem nice,” I offered breezily.

After that, I moved away from the circle of green chairs and sat in an uncomfortably high stool in the corner. I hid there, head down, my hands shaking very slightly, feeling paranoid. Like I failed. And that my friends, is ableism.

Eddie woke up even more exhausted than he was when he fell asleep. He let a breath out of his mouth and took in a long one through his nose. He kept his eyes shut. He wasn’t ready to face the world yet.

Everything he loved was gone, he suddenly realized. This thought jolted him awake, causing him to sit straight up in a panic. It hadn’t occurred to him that he lost everything yesterday. All of his friends were bound to know. They all hung out together. They were the Loser’s Club and Eddie had ruined that. They could never all hang out anymore as Eddie couldn’t bear to be in the same room as Richie, let alone even think about him. He started to really panic, then.

His breathing was rapid and shallow and his hands were shaking violently. Eddie got up, stumbling, trying to find his damned inhaler. It wasn’t in his pocket, nor his backpack, or on his desk. He couldn’t breathe. At this point, he didn’t know if it was even an asthma attack anymore, or if it was one in the first place. It was so much worse. His head was spinning and he couldn’t see anymore. It was in his jacket, he remembered suddenly.

Eddie collapsed on the ground, catching himself with his hands as he tried to steady his breathing, but nothing was working. His heart was racing and he couldn’t stop shaking. Eddie was sobbing uncontrollably, his vision blurred from the tears. He didn’t know what was happening. His lungs felt constricted and he couldn’t get any air in. He was hyperventilating, trying to breathe but couldn’t. He tried to move towards his jacket that was hanging on the back of his chair. He was shaking so badly that he could barely move. His hand grasped the chair, pulling it and knocking it over. The light blue inhaler fell out of the pocket of his coat, landing a couple inches away from him. He grabbed it, instantly feeling as if he could breathe again when he took his first two puffs of medicine.

An hour passed before Eddie could stand again. HIs legs were shaky but he managed to get to his bathroom. He found it odd that his mother hadn’t come to get him yet until he realized that it was four in the morning. Eddie knew he couldn’t go to school, but he couldn’t stay home ‘sick’ as his mother would take him to the hospital. He washed his face with some water and laid back down and attempted to fall asleep.

His mother woke him up at 7 am and tried to get him to take his pills as she did every morning. He walked out of the house and rode his bike to park. Eddie read there all day. He needed to take a breather and reading was his escape. The cool breeze against his skin calmed him even more as he closed his eyes and rested his head against the tree he was sitting up against. It was odd to feel so peaceful. At three o'clock, he headed home as if he had gone to school.

“Eddie bear, how was school?” She asked from her chair in the living room.

“Fine.” He responded quietly, heading upstairs and into his room.

Eddie felt bad about lying, not going to school, but he knew he couldn’t face Richie, Bill, or anyone for that matter. He checked his cut from the previous day, and it was still healing properly. That was one less thing for him to worry about. Eddie laid back on his bed, sighing. Could his life get any worse?

“W-W-What did you d-do?” Bill demanded, slamming his Chemistry book down on the loser’s lunch table. He was beyond pissed.

Richie looked up at Bill through his coke bottle lenses. Stan was pissed too, standing behind him with crossed arms and narrowed eyes. “I didn’t do anything!” He defended, pushing his glasses further up on his nose. “I-”

“Where is Eddie?” Stan interjected, sliding into the seat across from Richie. “He isn’t here today and he was supposed to tell you how he felt yesterday. What the hell did you do to him, Richie?”

Richie scoffed. “So that’s why he was avoiding me.”

Bill looked at him confused. “W-What do you mean av-av-avoiding you?”

Richie rolled his eyes. “You know when someone doesn’t talk to you and walks different routes in the hallways so they don’t see you. Gee, Bill, I thought you were smart.” He replied sarcastically, sticking his plastic fork into eerily yellow mashed potatoes.

Stan leaned forward on his elbows. “So, if he avoided you, why isn’t he here?”

Richie let out an exasperated sigh, leaning backward in his chair. “He told me in the gym locker room, alright?”

Bill sat down next to Stan, looking at Richie to egg him on.

Richie sighed again. “And I was too shocked to do anything and he ran out crying.”

   “Richie!”

“Hey! I tried to go to his house and apologize and he slammed the window shut. He wouldn’t listen to me.” Richie grumbled. “I really tried! But I have a plan.”

Stan and Bill exchanged glances. Bill nodded a little and Stan sighed. “What’s your plan?”

Richie sat up straight. “You two need to convince him to come over. Say it’s everyone but me.”

Bill frowned. “H-He’s not gonna b-b-believe us, Rich.”

“Make him believe you! I need to talk to him. I need to explain.” Richie protested, running a hand through his hair.

   Bill nodded. “I’ll t-try.”

Richie looked at Stan, who was staring down at the table. “Stan?”

“I’m not gonna help you if all you’re gonna do is break his heart. He doesn’t deserve that, Richie.” He deadpanned.

Richie was offended and a look of hurt flashed across his face before he composed himself. “I am not going to hurt Eddie!”

“Sure, telling him you only wanna be his friend isn’t gonna hurt him.”

“This is the one time I’m not being a sarcastic dipshit, Stanley! Are you listening? I said I’m not going to hurt him. I would never hurt him. I love him!” Richie slammed his fist on the table, causing a few kids to look over at them. “Did you hear that?”

   Stan nodded.

“At least they didn’t cut off your ears like they cut off your dick.” Richie spat, getting up and walking away. The bell rang moments later. Bill grabbed his bookbag and stood up, gently nudging Stan to do the same. Richie was standing near his locker, attempting to open it but getting the combination wrong.

   “Richie-”

“What, Stanley? What the hell do you want?” Richie practically growled, turning and glaring at Stan. If looks could kill, he would be dead ten times over.

   “I’ll help.”

Richie’s hard stare softened a little. “Thanks. I’m sorry I got mad but you gotta admit that line was good.” A small smile crept onto his face, and even Stan chuckled a bit.

Bill was assigned the job to get Eddie over, and Stan was to get everyone else in on the plan. He walked up to Eddie’s door and knocked. There was shuffling and a shout of “I got it” from Eddie. He opened the door and saw Bill, his face paled a little.

“H-Hi,” Bill said quietly. “C-Could we talk?”

Eddie glanced behind him for a moment to see if his mom had fallen back asleep or not before nodding and stepping outside, shutting the door behind him. “What do you wanna talk about because I’m not gonna talk about him.” He put emphasis on the word him. He sounded angry, disgusted, even. He laced his fingers together, still a bit shaky from his panic attack this morning.

“N-No. The group w-wants you to come over. Minus R-R-Richie.”

“Oh, no. I am not falling for that. He’s gonna be there when I get there and I don’t want to talk to him.”

Bill shook his head. “Please? I-I-It’s movie night. You can p-pick.”

Eddie glared at the ground, trying to work the request over in his head. He finally let out a long sigh and nodded. “Fine.”

They rode their bikes to Bill’s house in silence, neither of them knowing what to say, so they said nothing. Eddie set his bike up against the house as he always did, following Bill inside. Georgie greeted the both of them with a hello and a smile.

“H-Head to the living room, I-I-I’ll get the snacks,” Bill said, heading to the kitchen. Eddie nodded, walking towards the living room. He walked in, glancing around the room at the various decorations on the wall. Paintings and pictures of their family were scattered around the room. It felt homey.

Eddie was jolted out of his thoughts when he heard the door shut. He turned his head to look, only to find Richie standing there. His breath hitched in his throat and he knew he had paled. It wasn’t even five seconds before he started to get angry. He knew this was a set-up.

“I fucking knew it,” Eddie grumbled.

“Eddie-” Richie started, but Eddie had had enough.

“No, Richie. I don’t want to hear it. I’m really not in the mood to listen to you tell me you don’t feel the same way and that you hope we can be friends. Because we can’t be friends, Richie! I don’t want to be your friend. I can’t be your damn friend.

Richie Tozier was silenced by Eddie for the second time that week. It was a new record. He composed himself before stepping forward. “If you let me show you something, I promise I will leave you alone.”

Eddie was shocked that Richie was being serious. He was never serious in all the time he’s known the guy. He was always cracking inappropriate jokes at the wrong time. Despite all of his instinct to say no, Eddie nodded.

Richie let out a sigh of relief before spitting onto his hand.

“That is disgusting! What the hell are you-” Eddie cut himself off as he watched Richie take his spit and use it to smudge his soulmate tattoo off his skin. It wasn’t real. This whole time, Eddie thought that Richie had a soulmate. It was fake.

Richie watched Eddie for a moment before deciding to explain himself. “My mom used to tell me I would be made fun of for not having a soulmate. That I wouldn’t fit in. So, one night I decided to draw one on every morning so I would fit in. It sounds shitty and kind of is but- Eds are you listening?”

Eddie walked forward and grabbed Richie’s hand. He was holding back the urge to cringe, as Richie’s saliva was now on his hand. Richie didn’t understand what Eddie was doing. He let him move his finger until it was placed right next to the corresponding one on Eddie’s hand. Under Richie’s tattoo that he drew on, was a small, circular and blotchy birthmark. It was identical to Eddie’s.

“What the fuck,” Eddie announced. A smile spread across Richie’s face while Eddie started to ramble. “What does this mean? Are these soulmate tattoos? They look like birthmarks! Why the hell would this be a soul-”

Richie grabbed his face in his hands, leaning in and pressing his chapped lips onto Eddie’s soft ones. Eddie was stiff for a moment before he melted into the kiss and started to do the same that Richie was. Eddie was unsure where to put his hands or what to even do. Before he could react, Richie pulled away, slowly opening his eyes to find Eddie completely red.

   “I love you too, Eds.”

Eddie had a content smile on his face. “Don’t call me that, Trashmouth.”

“Ah, Trashmouth, what a nickname. You really know how to charm the boys.” Richie sassed, throwing his arm over Eddie’s shoulder. “Shall we tell the rest of the losers that Bill and Stan have competition?”

Eddie and Richie showed the rest of the group their tattoos. Stan had this smug look of “I told you so” written across his face and so did Bill. They ended up watching a rom-com, much to Eddie’s dismay. Richie kept his arm around the smaller boy the whole night, pressing chaste kisses to his forehead every once and awhile.

Richie and Eddie rode back to their houses together that night. They arrived at Eddie’s house first, both of them silent.

“Gee, you could cut this sexual tension with a knife.” Richie joked, leaning forward on the handlebars of his bike.

Eddie rolled his eyes, using his kickstand to stand his bike up next to his porch as he always did. Richie hopped off his bike, letting it lay on the ground. He walked up to Eddie, pinching his cheek. “So, Eddie Spaghetti, where do you wanna go on our first date of being fuckbuddies?”

“You ruined it.” Eddie sighed, slapping his hand away.

“I didn’t ruin anything!” Richie retorted, smiling. “I made it better.”

“Okay, Tozier,” Eddie said, leaning forward and kissing Richie briefly.

Richie had a smile plastered on his face. “Goodnight, Eds.”

“Goodnight, Trashmouth,” Eddie said before he shut the door. He quietly snuck up the stairs. His mom was still asleep in her chair. He fell back on his bed, a content smile on his face.

   Eddie Kaspbrak was happy.

I Thought You Were Already Married

So, no one asked for a part two butttt I decided to write it anyways. You don’t have to read part one to understand it. This can be read as a stand alone. If you would like to read part one, here you go.

——————————————————————-

“Harry, you have to go in.” Sirius told his godson firmly. He tried to remain stern but the pleading green eyes of the three-year-old was hard to ignore.

“What if they don’t like me.” The sniffle and wobbling lip was always his weakness. Merlin, where was Remus when he needed him? “What if no one wants to be my friend?”

Sirius sighed heavily as he kneeled on the ground and cupped Harry’s cheeks. “You are going to make many friends. Probably too many to count.” He smiled softly at the wonder in those bright eyes. “Even if for some crazy reason, you don’t make a friend, I’ll always be your friend. Isn’t that enough?”

“No.” Came the quick reply. It had Sirius rolling his eyes at his sassy godson. Harry must get that from Remus.

“Why can’t Moony be here? He wouldn’t make me go in.”

That had Sirius dropping his hands in defeat and adopting a pout. “I see how it is, Remus is your favorite.”

When Harry nodded his head, Sirius let out a playful growl. “You aren’t supposed to agree!” He tickled Harry and relished the joyful squeals the boy released. He couldn’t fault Harry for preferring Remus over him. The werewolf was his favorite person too.

“If you go in there, I promise that I’ll let you help me cheer up Remus when you get home.” Harry didn’t understand anything about the full moon or what was going on but he was smart enough at his age to know that the full moon makes Remus sad. The man was resting in bed recovering after yesterday’s transformation.

By the way Harry’s eyes lit up and a soft gasp escaped, he knew that he had won. Despite this, he couldn’t help but pray to any higher power that Harry really would make a friend. Any friend would do.

Requests: 1. Getting into a fight with h at Anne’s house please. 2. request-going to lunch with h, his family, and your family. (These were two separate requests I just combined them)

Pairing: Harry Styles x reader

A/N: I’m starting to work on the requests I’ve been sent, thank you so much to everyone who has been sending them! Feel free to send more

It had been one of the best days you had had with Harry in a while.

Every day you spent with him seemed to be a great day, but he had been really busy lately so the two of you hadn’t been able to do much. You never blamed him, this was the lifestyle you signed on for after all, but you were still grateful for days like this.

The two of you had started the day with a lazy sleep in. Despite it being the late morning you had remained in bed, shifting from lying in each other’s arms to gentle, loving kisses for hours. The two of you shared some long-awaited downtime together, just drinking each other in.

But when the time on your bedside clock had hit 11 o’clock the two of you had begrudgingly gotten out of bed and started getting ready for the day. Anne had been planning this lunch for weeks and the last thing she would have wanted was for the two of you to be late. You both knew how her mind went to the worst case scenario when anyone was more than three minutes late.

So, punctual as ever, Harry’s car rolled into the driveway of his family home right on 12:30. You had gone to open the door to get out but Harry had grabbed your arm to catch your attention. “Hey,” he spoke softly, “I love you.”

You were sure your smile spread from ear to ear as you returned those three little words. You leaned over to place one last gentle kiss on Harry’s lips before you joined both his and your family for lunch.

When you walked in, both your families were already scattered in small groups throughout the house, each in separate conversations. “Y/N!” Anne exclaimed as she saw you walk through the door. She quickly made her way over to you and wrapped you up in a big hug, squeezing you so tight you could hardly breathe. “Good to see you too, Mum,” Harry joked as he stood to the side.

She gave him a light smack on the arm but pulled him into a hug seconds later. “It’s good to see you,” she mumbled into his shoulder.

The two of you spent the next half hour greeting the rest of the family members who were at the gathering and sipping champagne, up until Anne announced that the food was ready. You both took your seats at the table and seconds later Harry had placed his hand on your thigh, tracing small circles with his thumb.

For a while, everything was complete bliss. Harry was by your side and your family was all around, chatting and eating great food. You had always been very family orientated and times like this were one of the things you loved most in this world.

Everything was going perfectly until your mother brought up your family friend, Isabelle, having a baby last week.

“Hopefully it won’t be long until Harry and Y/N start giving us cute little grandchildren,” Anne said with a grin.

“Well, he better put a ring on it first,” you joked and everyone else laughed along easily.

Everyone, that is, but Harry.

At your words, he hastily removed his hand from your thigh and your laughing was cut short. A few people around the table, as well as yourself, noticed his sour expression, Gemma being one of them. With a quick glance between the two of you, she knew to change the subject.

“I’m thinking of visiting Isabelle and the baby tomorrow if anyone wants to join me,” she broke the silence that had filled the room. By now everyone had noticed that Harry did not appreciate your joke, so everyone was quick to latch onto her subject change.

You, on the other hand, just looked at Harry in confusion. What was his problem? The two of you had been dating for over three years now and had been living together for almost two. Surely marriage is what you were working towards. The two of you had never said it out loud before, but you had thought you had this silent understanding of what you both wanted for the future. But now you were starting to doubt this.

Harry refused to meet your gaze, eyes moving to whoever was speaking at that moment but never engaging in the conversation.

You stared down at your food, no longer feeling at all hungry.

“Excuse me,” you mumbled, standing in your chair abruptly.

“You alright love?” Anne looked at you in concern.

“Yeah, I’m fine. Just going to the bathroom sorry,” you smiled at her, but it didn’t meet your eyes.

You quickly exited the dining room, acutely aware of Harry standing in his place and following you out. You walked all the way to the other end of the house before turning to face Harry, you didn’t want your families to hear any of this conversation. You opened your mouth to speak but Harry beat you to it.

“What the hell was that Y/N?” he snapped at you.

But then Richie Tozier came along, with his wild hair, passion for film making, and annoying talent of making Eddie’s heart beat faster than normal, and he finally found someone who knew him better than he knew himself. When you open the door, you are not surprised to see Bucky with his son, Grant, in his arms on the other side. If someone was going to show up at your house without being invited this someone would be Bucky Barnes. Not that you mind, you loved to spend time with him and his little boy.

–SEOKJIN–

You had just taken a big bite out of Jin’s latest dish. It was delicious and flavorful as always, but maybe a little too much. You coughed, hitting your chest with one hand as Jin panicked, rushing to bring you some water. After downing a whole glass, you breathed a sigh of relief. So did Jin.

“I’m so sorry, honey! For a second I thought I’d killed you.”

Still recovering, you weren’t thinking as your next words tumbled out of your mouth.

“You’re a professional killer, so it wouldn’t be a surprise.”

A long, heavy silence fell over you both realized what you had just said. Horror twisted in your gut. Crap. How could you cover this up?

“What did you just say?” Jin asked, voice low with something very, very dangerous.

There was a long moment where you both stood there, unmoving and unblinking, just staring at one another. Then the panic settled in. Your breathing became quicker, your eyes wide. He knew. He knew you knew. This was bad. He was angry. This was bad.

Jin took a step forward, features softening as he approached you slowly, like one would approach a wounded animal.

“Darling, calm down. It’s—“

Thoughts still hazy, you turned on your heel and made a break for the door, running as fast as you possibly could.

Jin was faster.

You barely made it out of the kitchen when you felt his hand circle around your arm in a vice grip. In the next instant, he slammed you against the nearest wall with terrifying strength you had always known he possessed. You winced, screwing your eyes shut as you looked down. You couldn’t look at him—you were afraid of what you would see.

Gentle but firm, his other hand gripped your chin and made you look into his eyes. They were soft and gentle, the same as they had always been. You felt yourself relax, just a little bit, at that.

“I think,” he finally said, “you and I need to have a little talk.”

–NAMJOON–

You were home alone, so you decided to take a long, much deserved bath. Eyes closed, you sighed as you soaked in the steaming water. Then, you heard it. A loud bang and a crash from outside the door. Namjoon wasn’t supposed to be home until very late that night, which could only mean it was a break in.

Your eyes snapped open and you practically flew out of the tub, heart hammering in your chest as you thought of your options. You knew Namjoon kept a gun in every room. It was how you discovered his real occupation some time ago.

As quickly as you could, you removed the bathmat at the base of the tub and felt around for a loose tile. Sure enough, you search was fruitful. You grabbed the weapon and slowly backed away. You didn’t want to use it, or even threaten anyone with it, so you stayed put, hoping the intruder wouldn’t come into the washroom. No such luck. Soon enough, the knob jiggled for a moment before the door was pushed open. With shaky hands you put the gun up.

“D-don’t move! I’m not a-afraid to use this!”

“Shit, baby, what the fuck?

Namjoon stood before you, hands up in surrender and eyes wide with shock as he stared at you in utter disbelief.  You could have cried at the sight of your boyfriend. Shaking, you lowered the weapon. Then, enraged, you lifted it again.

“You! You scared me half to death! What the hell is wrong with you?!”

Namjoon gaped.

“What’s wrong with me? What’s wrong with you?”

“Excuse me?!”

“Why do you have a gun?!”

“You’re in the mob and you’re asking about your own gun?!”

You froze, realizing your mistake. Namjoon stared at you, wide eyed. Then, he sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose as he slouched in defeat, almost as if he’d been expecting this. You wouldn’t be surprised if he had.

“Ok, before we have this conversation,” he said, voice exasperated, “could you please put the gun down? And maybe put some clothes on?”

You looked down at yourself and blushed, placing the gun back on the floor and running past him into the bedroom.

“If you like,” he said, voice amused and suggestive, “we could save the clothes and the conversation for later…”

–YOONGI–

Yoongi was still sleeping when you decided to slip out of bed and make breakfast for the both of you. You were flipping pancakes in the kitchen when you heard the unmistakable sound of a knock on the door. You nearly jumped out of your skin, dropping one of the pancakes in the process. Cursing, you turned the stove off and marched to the door.

When you opened it, you were surprised to find two men you had never seen before standing in front of you.

You immediately stiffened, thinking about Yoongi’s job. Did they know him? Were these friends or enemies? Were they dangerous? Were you about to get kidnapped? You were so going to kill Yoongi if you got kidnapped because of him.

You fixed the two men with an unamused glare.

“May I help you?”

The men looked almost as surprised to see you as you were to see them. They shifted uncomfortably, looking at one another.

“Uh. Is Suga home?”

‘Suga’ was Yoongi, you knew. You also knew it was a name only his friends knew him by, if the papers you found in his office were anything to go by. Still, you didn’t trust these guys yet.

“Who are you?”

They looked at each other.

“Uh. I’m V and that’s Jimin. We’re—“

“His underlings. Yeah, I know.” You sighed, relieved when you recognized their names. “Sorry, but Suga’s—“

“Awake now.”

You jumped when you felt the heat of another body pressed against your back. Yoongi was standing there, still shirtless, using an arm to lean against the doorframe as he fixed the two visitors with a glare.

“Whatever it is, it can wait until tomorrow.”

“But—“

Without saying another word, Yoongi grabbed the door and shut it in their faces. He sighed, still pressed right up against your back. You squirmed, trying to step away from him, but started when you felt both of his hands firmly grasp each of your arms. He pressed further into you, leaning in until you felt his breath on the back of your neck.

You shivered—out of fear or something else, you weren’t sure.

“How long,” he said, his low voice practically a whisper as he spoke into your ear, “have you known about this?”

–HOSEOK–

You and Hoseok were getting some shopping done when you passed by a department store, one of the very upscale and intimidating ones that you dared not enter by yourself. So, naturally, Hoseok decided to drag you inside.

“Come on, it’ll be fun!”

You rolled your eyes at his antics, but obliged nonetheless. He was so happy, after all. While inside, you found yourself surprised as something caught your eye. It was a beautiful silver watch. You leaned over the glass case displaying it, admiring the piece. You had always wanted one of these high-end accessories, but you could never possibly afford it.

“Like what you see, babe?”

You jumped, having almost forgot you were here with your boyfriend. Smiling, you nodded, but shrugged it off with a small, disappointed sigh.

“Yeah, but when in a million years could I ever afford something like this?”

Hoseok blinked, staring at you for a moment in thought before he spoke again, smile ever-present.

“I’ll buy it for you.”

You raised your eyebrows. Of course, you knew Hoseok could afford this sort of thing. He was a mobster after all, and a pretty damn successful one, from what you gathered. But still, he didn’t need to know that you knew. So, you shook your head.

“If I can’t afford it, then you can’t either.”

“Yes, I can,” he replied, persistent.

“No, you can’t.” You glared at him. “I don’t want it that bad, Hoseok.”

“Sure you do.”

“No.”

“Babe it’s ok, I’ll buy—“

“If I want this watch,” you snapped, irritation taking over you, “then I want it with good, honest money. Not—“ you gasped, cutting yourself off once you realized what you said.

“Not what, babe?”

Everything around you seemed to stop—the bustling department store seemed empty, the lights seemed dimmer. All you could focus on was Hoseok, his eyes darkening while the smile remained on his face. You had a feeling you weren’t the first person to be on the receiving end of such a look. Your sweet, loving boyfriend was replaced with someone else.

He was terrifying.

Still smiling, Hoseok leaned forward until your faces were centimeters apart.

“Sweetheart,” he said, his sweet voice laced with venom, “is there something you’d like to tell me?”

Peter Parker nodded as his friend Ned prattled on about what happened in Chemistry class. A class Peter had to miss because of his crime fighting duties. Truth was, Peter couldn’t care less about Chemistry. He was too busy staring at the laughing girl from across their table. Her head was thrown back and her silvery laugh filled his ears. Y/N’s face lit up in a way that made Peter’s heart fall even more for her. The boy sighed and rested his head on his fist.

“You know you could just talk to her instead of staring at her like a creeper.” Ned stated.

“I-I wasn’t staring, Ned.” Peter defended himself.

“Sure you weren’t, buddy.” Ned chuckled. Peter rolled his eyes.

“If I was, and I’m not saying I was, can you blame me? She’s perfect.” Peter said, dreamily.

“Which is why you should talk to her.” Ned forced.

“With her friends, who hate me by the way, around her? I don’t think so.”

You woke up with a start, unsure where you were. The distant sound of laughter filled the room and you rolled to your side, groaning. The light filtering through the curtains was bright enough to see by, but your eyes were still blurry from sleep.

“It’s barely seven!” Bucky groaned.

His head appeared just above the mattress as he sat up from the floor. He was at eye level with you and yawned widely, not bothering to cover his mouth. You buried your face into the pillow, mumbling something about morning breath.

“So this is what you look like in the morning,” he said, stretching his back. “Interesting.”

The Arrangement  (pt 8)

The next few weeks were truly the happiest you had been in a long, long time. You were falling more in love with Jimin as each day passed by and he never hesitated to tell you that he too felt the same.

You two were practically inseperable. He would even come surprise you at work for lunch every now and then and he loved the way your face lit up when he walked through your office door with lunch in hand.

One day, you heard a knock on your door a few minutes before lunch and you smiled, guessing it was your loving husband. But to your surprise, it was your father and another male behind him who you recognized as Taehyung, one of Jimin’s best friends.

“Appa, hi!” you squealed as you got out of your chair and practically ran to hug your father.

“Hi Y/N” he chuckles.

“Hello Taehyung!” you say to Taehyung as he flashes you a smile. “Both of you, come sit!”

After sitting down on the couches in your office, you suddenly wonder why Taehyung was there in the first place. You had seen him a few times after the wedding and Jimin had told you that he was one of his closest friends, but you didn’t really know much else about Taehyung, other than the fact that his family was also into a similar business.

“Y/N, you’re probably wondering why I’ve brough Taehyung here today” your father says as you nod your head. “Our companies will be starting a new project this week. I’ve sent the details to your email just recently but I would like if you could take this project on in my place dear. Taehyung’s father would like for him to lead the project as well” he said.

“Oh, I think I just opened up that email. Don’t worry appa, whatever project it is, I’m sure me and Taehyung can handle it” you say confidently. This wasn’t the first time your father had thrown a project out of the blue for you, but you loved the challenge and always exceeded his expectations. He was confident in handing over the entire business to you.

“Yes sir, like Y/N said, I’m confident that we can succeed in this project. This will be great for both our companies” Taehyung said.

“I’m really glad to hear it, kids. We’re leaving this entire thing to you both, so need to get our approval for anything, ok? With that said, Y/N, Taehyung will be temporarily working here in this building with some of his staff for the duration of this project. However long it takes for you finish.” your father said.

“Oh of course, that will make things easier! We have more than enough space for you, Taehyung” you say with a warm smile.

“Thank you for having us!” Taehyung said.

When Jimin found out that you and Tae were going to be working on a new project at work, he was happy. Two very important in his life were getting the chance to know eachother. He was trying to figure out a way to get you and his friends to hang out more and maybe even get introduced to your friends, but there wasn’t really much time. Plus, he wanted you all to himself.

Unfortunately though, this project was just extra work for both you and Tae on top of the work you normally had, so you spent more and more time at work. Jimin would often come home to an empty house which would remain empty for a few hours. You would walk in, tired from a long day and he missed spending time with you.

You too had missed coming home on time and spending time with Jimin. He woud still surprise you with lunch every now and then, but Taehyung was also there too. But things were going really well you thought. You were having fun with this project and Taehyung was fun to work with. He told you lots of stories about Jimin and that always put a smile on your face. And you thought you relationship with Jimin was getting stronger despite not seeing eachother as much. You even celebrated your first anniversary together. One year ago, you would have disregarded this day and cursed it. But your anniversary now actually meant something to the both of you.

One Saturday morning, you woke up to an empty bed. Usually you woke up in Jimins arms, but he was no where to be seen. You quickly got out of bed to head to the bathroom, but you suddenly felt dizzy and had to steady yourself. You thought nothing of it and freshened up in the bathroom before heading out to find you husband. You had walked out of your shared room only to find Jimin cooking away in the kitchen.

You stood there, just watching him as he stuggled to make whatever it was he was trying to make. Jimin looked up to find you with a big smile on your face. “Morning wifey! I’m making us breakfast! Did I wake you? I’m sorry. I’m not entirely done, but look I finished the stew!” he said as he walked to the table which was mostly set. You walked closer and to be honest, you were quite impressed.

Jimin opened the lid to the stew and that’s when it all hit you at once. The smell from all the food overwhelmed you and you threw your hands to cover your mouth as you ran to the bathroom. Jimin got scared when he saw you run out of the kitchen. Was the food that bad? He ran after you seconds later and he found you on the bathroom floor, throwing up into the toilet. He held your hair up and he felt so bad. He didn’t mean for you to throw up. He even tried the food and he thought it tasted somewhat decent. “Sweetheart I’m so sorry, I didn’t think the food was that bad” he said.

Despite leaning over the toilet, you couldn’t help but laugh at how cute he was being. You knew it wasn’t because of the food. “Sweets, can you please hand me my phone?” you say, as you flush the toilet, feeling somewhat better. Jimin runs out and returns a few seconds later with a water bottle and phone in hand. You immediately open up your period tracker and to your surprise you’re…almost 3 weeks late. You were surprised to say the least. You had just been so busy these last few weeks that you didn’t even realize.

Jimin peaks over your shoulder and soon, he too registers what you were looking at. He immediately opened one of the bathroom drawers and shoves a box of pregnancy tests into your hands.

“What the hell? Where’d you get these from?” you ask in disbelief.

“I just figured we would need it at some point in the future so I picked it up a few weeks ago. Thats not important though, just do it already!” he says, excitedly. He walks out of the bathroom and closes the door behind him. “I’ll be right outside Y/N! Take your time” he says.

Jimins mind started to race. You two had been married for about a little over a year now, and he really just liked the way his life was right now. Did you both even have time for a kid? But at the same time, the thought of having mini you’s or mini hims around the house, his heart swelled. As for you, you knew you always wanted to be a mother. You loved kids and have wanted one for youself when the time came. But was this the time? You and Jimin had discussed having kids, but for the future. Although you felt like it was soon, you couldn’t help but tear up when you thought about holding a baby of your own in your arms.

Jimin paced around the bathroom door for what felt like hours. He was practically shaking from anticipation. He ran his hands through his hair nervously and tried to take deep breaths to calm himself down. As he paced, he heard the door open behind him. He had never turned around so quickly in his life. He looked at you wide eyed, trying to find the answer in your eyes. You eyes were slightly glazed and he noticed you had not one, but three tests in your hands.

“I’m…I’m pregnant” you say as a tear falls from your eyes and you smile. Jimin just stares at you for a moment, letting your announcement sink in. And once it does, he practically runs to you and pulls you into a tight hug as he spins you around.

You both are laughing and giggling and crying all at once. He places you down and kisses you tenderly. “Y/N, you have no idea how happy I am right now” he says.

“So, we’re doing this? We’re going to be parents?” you ask, smiling through the tears.

“We’re going to be parents” he confirms, as he kisses you again

A few weeks after you took the test, you also confirmed it with a doctor and she set your mind at ease when she said the baby seemed healthy so far. Soon after, you and Jimin went to the store and bough 2 pairs of baby shoes and gifted them to your parents, who were more than happy that they all practically cried.

However, the media had found out about your little trip to the store and soon picture were leaked with you and baby shoes in hand. You had no choice but to confirm the news and urged the media to give you your space for the duration of the pregnancy. Soon, it seemed like the whole country was congratulating you.

You walked into work the following Monday when a bouqet of flowers was quite literally shoved into your face as you entered your office. You grabbed onto the flowers and peaked behind them to see Taehyung behind them.

“CONGRATS Y/N!” he practically yells.

“oh my gosh, tae you scared me! Thank you, these are gorgeous” you say as you look at the flowers. Over the course of the project, you and Taehyung had got quite close and even resorted to nicknames.

“How far along are you? Is it a boy or girl? I’m the godfather right? of course I am.” he said, excitedly. “omg is it kicking already?”

“Kim Taehyung, I’m going to need you to calm down a little. I’m only about 2 months in. The baby is probably the size of a peanut and so no, I don’t know whether or not it’s a boy or girl. And we can talk godfather much, much later” you say as you walk to your desk. You don’t have to see him to know that he’s frowning.

“But Tae, I’ve been meaning to talk to you about something” you say as he sits down as well. “Jimin’s birthday is coming up and I wanted to plan a surprise party for him. Do you think you can help me coordinate things?” you ask.

You had wanted to do something nice for your husband for his birthday since you couldn’t do anything for his last birthday. You had already found his gift, but you needed help with the party details.

“Of course I’ll help. He’s my best friend!” he exclaims.

So instead of work that day, you and taehyung sit and plan for a party two months away.

Jimin knew something was going on. He noticed how you would fumble around, closing your browser when he was nearby. How you would hide your phone and eventually changed the passcode. But he knew who the texts were from.

He noticed when sometimes you and taehyung would skip lunch to go do “business”. He noticed the secret glances you two shared whenever Taehyung was invited over.

On one day that you claimed to be working late, Jimin was incredibly bored. He had invited Yoongi over to a local bar, but he ended up getting there early. The bar was one that he had frequented over the years. Jimin honestly just wanted to spend some time with you. Hell, he was just worried that you were over working yourself. And with the baby on the way? You should be working less!

As he drowned in his thoughts, he felt an arm slide up his back. It sent a shiver down his spine and he turned the face a unfortunate familiar face. “Jiah, what are you doing here?” he says, not even smiling.

“oh come on minnie, we would come here often when we dated. I like this place too, you know” she said with a smirk on her face as she sat on in the seat next to you.

“what do you want Jiah” Jimin said as he tried not to roll his eyes at his ex.

“Nothing. I’m just enjoying my evening” she said. “Shouldn’t you be spending time with the mom-to-be?” she asked, dryly. “oh wait, she’s out spending time with your best friend. Taehyung, was it?” she asked.

“How’d you know?” Jimin asks, suddenly annoyed.

“Those two frequent the mall I work at. They’re there at least once or twice a week. Oh…you didn’t know? Don’t tell me she’s out with him now? Oh right, this marriage was arranged right? It’s not like she’s obligated to love you, she’s free to love who she pleases. She has such a big smile around Taehyung. You know, that means you’re obligated to love whoever you want as well, Jimin” she says as she runs a finger along the outline of his face before she gets up and leaves.

Yoongi walks in right at that moment, watching as Jiah walks out of the bar. “Hey, was that who I think it was? What the hell was she doing here? Did she sprout more nonsense?” Yoongi asks Jimin, sitting on the same seat that Jiah had just occupied.

“What? no, she was just saying hi” Jimin said, not reallly paying attention. Because it had happened. The seed of doubt had been planted.

The days turned into weeks and that seed of doubt was growing at full speed. Hell, it was practically a forest at this point. Jimin had started to increasingly doubt you, but you failed to notice. You were either busy with work, planning the party, or doctors appointments.

Jimin wanted to believe you. He wanted so much to believe that you wouldn’t cheat on him. But literally everything seemd to prove that you were. He can’t remember the last time you two shared any physical affection and it seemed like you didn’t even care. The only time you put out for him was during your doctors appointments.

So when you had suggested meeting for dinner at his favorite restaurant for his birthday, he agreed in a flash. He thought that maybe this dryspell would end and you two could go back to being normal.

He had picked you up directly from work as per your orders and soon enough, you were sitting at one of the restaurants. He missed having alone time with you like this.

“Happy Birthday, baby” you cooed as the waiter left after taking your order. It was crazy how much you could make his heart race with just those simple words.

“Thank you, Y/N. Where’s my gift?” he asked, jokingly. You had blushed and stuttered a little. “It’s actually at home! I thought we could open it together later?” you asked.

“Of course baby. You know you didn’t have to get me anything right?” he said with a warm smile.

“I don’t care, I think you’ll really like it” you say. “Just try to gu-” you started, but were interrupted with a text. You grab your phone and as you read the text, you smile. You quickly type a reply and place the phone back on the table, smile still plastered on your face.

And just like that, the evening continued. Throughout dinner, your phone would buzz with texts and you always answered, even if you were interrupting Jimin in the middle of a conversation. You knew it was rude, but Taehyung was currently at home with some other people decorating the house and he kept asking you questions. You couldnt’ help but smile when thinking about how surprised Jimin was going to be.

After you finished eating, you excused yourself to the bathroom, leaving your phone behind. Jimin was growing increasingly frustrated with you as you seemed to always be on your phone. Your phone buzzed again and Jimin wanted to take your phone and chuck it across the restaurant. Who the hell was texting you so much? He grabbed your phone and your phone lit up to the home screen.

Taehyung: Don’t worry Y/N, he won’t find out our secret

The car ride back home was very silent. The second you returned back to the table, you noticed the change in mood from Jimin. You were extremely uncomfortable with the silence and you wanted to lift his mood before his surprise party. As you pulled into your neighborhood, you gently placed your hands on Jimin’s hands that was on his lap and gave it a gentle squeeze. “Sweets, are you ok?” you ask, finally breaking the silence.

But much to your surprise, he pushes your hand off. You were hurt to say the least. By now, Jimin had pulled into your garage. “Jimin.. “ you started.

“Just save it” he all but sneers at you.

“Jimin.. what’s wrong?” you ask, extremely worried.

“JUST SHUT UP Y/N” he yells at you and you are genuinely scared. You shudder in fear.

“B-Baby, what is it” you try again after a few moments.

“I know about you and Taehyung” he says, moments later, anger clearly laced in his tone.

“What?” you ask, confused.

“Oh cut the act Y/N, I’m not stupid. Of all people to cheat on me with, it had to be with my best friend?” he says with venom in his voice. If looks could kill, you would be dead at the moment.

“Baby, I think you’re misunderstanding something. I’m not cheating on you sweets” you say with a small smile, finally realizing why he was so upset. You try to grab his hand again but he pulls his hands away.

“Don’t even pretend, you slut” he says, silentely, but loud enough for you to hear. You feel your heart start to crack.

“Jimin, calm down. I’m telling you the truth. And watch your words Jimin, don’t say something you will regret.” you warn.

“Regret? The only thing I regret is marrying you” he says.

“Jim-” you try again but he interrupts you with one final blow.

“Is the child even mine, Y/n?”
