he /thought/ he was in love, but instead actually obsessed... so did ishim think cas was obsessed with dean but hes actually in love 🤔

ask n. 2   “ishim is a monster incapable of healthy love” That’s why I don’t really like that comparison. They got compared to something that wasn’t really love, but more like a stalker obsessed with a poor woman.

(This turned way too long, so here’s a recap: I discuss the comparison between Ishim and Cas /and respective relationships with humans/, which tells us who Cas is by contrast; I also draw a parallel between Ishim and Godstiel, aka Cas’ darkest side – that Cas still managed to overcome on his own, because despite everything he’s always had a good heart and good intentions; also, are we supposed to reconsider the nature - platonic or potentially romantic - of Dean and Cas’ relationship in s6?)

Hello there, my friends! Unfortunately, you have just opened a can of worms, since I was writing some meta on the parallel between Ishim and Cas.
To answer the first question, well, yes. Ishim (like many angels) doesn’t understand human feelings and emotions. Not only he’s a manipulative and abusive douchebag, he also lacks the experience to understand what love is (Cas, on the other hand, has been human..).
So, when he sees the bond between Dean and Cas, he compares it to what he knows. And what does he know? The love he knows is obsession, rotten to the core; the human he wanted never loved him back; he thinks she made him weaker (and this is just textbook abusive behavior). So when he sees how far Cas has fallen (subtext: for a human), of course he thinks Cas is in his same situation.

You know why we’re meant to stay away from them humans? Hmm? It’s not because we’re a danger to them. They’re a danger to us.

Yeah, he’s talking about both Dean and Sam, but casually Sam is never called Cas’ human weakness (context: we’re talking romantic love, throwback to Metatron saying Cas was in love with… humanity, just to point out one episode later that Cas’ goal was all about saving one human), nor he is in the climatic scene where Ishim goes after humani– erm, Dean (hint: Sam wasn’t supposed to be there because Cas loves Sam, but he’s not in love with Sam).

Now, on to question #2. Too much exposition is deadly to a story. A great way to show who a character is or what they’ve become is… to contrast them with who they’re not (same goes for relationships).

Favourite Acting Scenes – Eskild lays down the (gay) law for Isak (5.10 part 5)

A request from an anon.

The Most Difficult Scene Ever To Take Screenshots From Because There’s SO Much Text.

As mentioned before, acting is a game of interaction, in which both actors act and react to each other’s performance of lines or movements; there needs to be something that happens before someone else can react to it. This scene is very much different from the scene in 5.10 with Even that comes right before this one, however, because there Even barely shows any reaction in what Isak’s saying. Eskild is not that person. He is much more reactive, and this scene shows his range of different emotions that are going through his mind here. This scene is so poignant, so telling, so real because it shows exactly how hurtful words can be, even unintentional. And this is all it takes: 5 minutes.

In the beginning of the scene, Eskild is pretty excited. He’s a pretty observant person, has helped Isak through some tough shit at the end of last year. I think that Eskild really feels like he’s an older brother to Isak; he’s the one who took him in, gave him a place to stay, and I think that Eskild only told Noora that Isak wasn’t gay so she would back off a little. That gay bar meeting must have confirmed all his thoughts on Isak, and gave his some sense of needing to protect him. This is, what I have noticed myself, what happens in the LGBTQ+ community: you care for each other, in times that no one else seems to. This is Isak’s first introduction into that world. If only he was a little bit more graceful.

So Isak has had a boy over, to stay the night, and lied about it before Eskild’s entered this room. But he knows Isak, knows he’s finding this difficult, so Eskild feels like he has to give him a little nudge, in a very lighthearted manner. Eskild’s willing to leave him alone when Isak doesn’t respond. You see Isak losing his smile, considering his options here, and finally deciding okay, Eskild’s safe. I can tell him.

There is kind of a thing going on between Even and me.

Eskild’s first reaction is a small smile; he’s so proud that Isak is telling him this, but he can’t make it too big of a deal, that’s not what Isak wants. But when Isak’s done telling him, he reaches out and touches his knee, and tells him that it’s really awesome; he sees that Isak is completely red, not looking him too much in the eye because this is scary as heck. Eskild has probably gone through this, in a similar fashion. He reassures him: you know, that gay bar thing was pretty obvious. But Eskild is so, so proud and so happy. He keeps that small smile.

Then it all changes when Isak has the biggest brainfart in all the parallel universes.

I enjoy Tarjei’s portrayal of Isak here immensely: he makes it really painful to watch, because Isak’s not holding back, the words seem to roll out of him, he speaks more honestly about what he’s feeling than he has done in ages. He’s basically blaming ‘people like Eskild’ that he can’t be honest about himself because ‘those people’ have the monopoly on what being gay looks like.

And this is enormously hurtful: you see Carl looking away to collect himself, to keep the anger and hurt he feels under control. This is something that Eskild probably has heard before, but he did not expect to hear this from Isak, not someone who he has helped so much and who he feels really protective of. He keeps his emotions under control, but you can see that his eyes are slowly starting to water, and when he mentions the amount of courage people need to have to be themselves, that’s when his emotions get the best of him.

This is what it takes for people to be themselves, Isak. Do not take that lightly and throw their experiences under the rug. Not when you haven’t even scratched the surface on standing up for who you are.

And since Eskild is usually such a happy person, he still tries to laugh a small bit. This is not who he wants to be, but this hurts him on such a deeply personal level that he can’t help but leave. Isak is so ashamed that he can barely look him in the eyes anymore.

Carl needed to nail this scene, and this could’ve been such a preachy scene as well, but it wasn’t. He really reacted to what Tarjei gave him in that small instance, he collected all the information that was given to him in words and in emotions and put the energy into feeling what his character was going through and needed to do.

Different people exist; different mlm experiences and identities within the LGBTQ+ community exist. And through Isak, Eskild and Even we as an audience get to see that they also co-exist: they’re not separate, they can live together, really learn from each other and be the family for each other that they need. These are all valid experiences. This scene was needed to show that to us, and it’s revolutionary because it’s honest, it’s real, and explained in a way that everyone can understand. That is the true strength of this show.

Previous parts: here.

Season one of Dirk Gently except that, just beneath the surface, all of the psychic murder children are eldritch horrors.

They seem just a bit too interested when their gaze flickers over you, and there’s something almost predatory in their smile (even Dirk’s too-toothy grin). There’s something in Bart’s careless movements, and the Rowdy 3′s hive mind, and the way that bizarre and frightening states of disaster follow Dirk wherever he goes.

(Just before the breakout RIggins finds a book about cosmicism, finds a name for what he’s felt for years, the sense that ordinary life is a thin shell over a reality that is so alien and abstract in comparison that merely contemplating it would damage the sanity of the ordinary person.)

There’s a reason why Blackwing wants them all back so badly.

hey, everyone! i’ve been away for so long, but i’m back and hopefully this year I’ll be more active in the community. here you have a sneak peek at what i’ve been studying and my newest and favorite supplies.

this month i’m taking a break from working on my thesis because i’m applying for a Real Job as a teacher. i have two big upcoming exams as part of the selection, hence the legislation studies. wish me luck! 🌿

So, since I need some light distraction from my thesis I started watching Miraculous Ladybug...

I am propably way to old for that but it’s just so cute and now I’m kind of a fan…because why the f notXD

And I just suddenly realized that I need a ML AU fanfic where everything’s the same but one thing: Marinette and Plagg being paired up as well as Adrien with Tikki.

Just…imagine. Marinette and Plagg being sassy af with one another and just having sooo much fun. And Adrien getting the good advice and understanding of Tikki (I swear to god the boy needs it).

I am just fangirling about Marinette an Plagg being a team right now. <3

M: I need to get to his phone to delete the message *paniking because of the voicemail she left*
P: *being amused and snarky because human emotions and she is just like…overkill with them* *distracting her from paniking cuz she always sasses back* *grins* sounds like fun, let’s do it. *because he’s irresponsible and reckless and fun like that*

Troublemaking duo of disaster!!!

The Neighbour | NAMJIN

pairing: NamJin (Namjoon | Seokjin) + BrOTP!Jinkook
words: 1100
summary: Namjoon didn’t know that dating Seokjin would include dealing with a little fetus, who was more difficult than any parent and police officer combined. - Teen AU

Namjoon could feel the familiar knot of excitement and nervousness growing in the pit of his stomach when he turned a corner and reached his final destination. He had been there only once before - the white house with floral curtains at the windows didn’t differ from the other houses in the calm neighborhood, yet Namjoon couldn’t help the pleasant feeling of restlessness spreading through his body at the sight of this particular one. With a few strides, he crossed the freshly mowed lawn before he noticed a boy sitting on the porch steps of the house. His hands were playing with a soccer ball while he watched Namjoon fixedly with his big round eyes. He must have been like ten, twelve max.

“Are you here for Seokjin hyung?”

“Yes, is he-”

“You must be Kim Namjoon then?”

The hostility in the boy’s voice took Namjoon aback a little, but he quickly recovered from the cold tone of what felt like statement rather than actual question. “Um, yes, I am. Where-”

“Aren’t you here a bit early though?” The youngster cut him off and stood up, scrutinizing him now openly from head to toe.

“Better early then late, right?” With a little smile, Namjoon scratched the back of his neck awkwardly as he felt like a bug watched under a microscope. He used to fear the day he would meet Seokjin’s parents, which by coincidence had happened right before their first date. Eventually, it had turned out pretty well, since they were as nice as their eldest son. But somehow, it was this little fetus staring daggers at him now that made him nervous once again like he was about to ask for Seokjin’s hand. “Who are you anyway? Are you Seokjin hyung’s brother? Taehyung?”

Before the Frowny Face could answer, Seokjin himself walked out on the porch. “No, that’s Jungkook, my annoyingly overprotective neighbor.” Seokjin ruffled Jungkook’s hair and went around him to Namjoon, greeting the latter with a peck on a cheek and similarly sweet smile.

Namjoon flashed him his pair of dimples in return, while noticing Jungkook grimacing in disgust. “He’s kind of cute.”

“I’m not!”

Seokjin only rolled his eyes. “Anyway, want to come in? I’ll just put in some contact lenses and we’re good to go, I swear.”

Unlike Seokjin, who always felt self-conscious about his thick glasses, Namjoon actually found the older boy very attractive when the nerdy frames were adorning his face. However, all his attempts to convince Seokjin about this usually got brush off with “You’re supposed to say things like that, but thank you,” accompanied by his characteristic smile.

“Okay, take your time,” Namjoon shrugged, taking off his shoes and then following Seokjin into the kitchen with Jungkook in tail.

Before retreating to the bathroom, Seokjin glared at Jungkook for a moment, pointing his finger at the younger boy warningly. “Kookie, be nice! I mean it!”

“I’m always nice, hyung,” Jungkook sing-songed but as soon as the door clicked behind Seokjin, he turned his head swiftly in Namjoon’s direction. “How old are you?”

“Seventeen.”

“So you are younger than Seokjin hyung. Any siblings?”

“I have a younger sister.”

“Hm,” Jungkook nodded as if the information held some significant meaning. His gaze then landed on the elder’s head. “I don’t like your hair. Why is it white?”

Namjoon chuckled at the endless amount of questions the little guy threw at him. Jungkook seemed to be, in some mysterious way, a funny kid, despite that murderous stare or terrible attitude.

“I bleached it.”

“Dying your hair isn’t good to your scalp and it damages it. Seokjin hyung said that, when Taehyung hyung dyed it orange once.”

“Well, he said I’d look cool with pink hair, though.”

“It’s because pink is his favorite color,” Jungkook stated matter-of-factly. “Do you smoke?”

“I won’t lie, I did try it few times. But no, I don’t smoke.”

“Seokjin hyung hates smoking, because it’s unhealthy and makes people smell terrible.”

A teasing smirk flitted across Namjoon’s face as he took a long look at the boy in front of him. “Do you possibly have like some crush on him or-?”

“What? On Seokjin hyung? Ew, no.”

“Then why are you all Seokjin hyung this and that, while interrogating me like a cop?”

“That’s not true!” Jungkook snapped, the tips of his ears reddening at the accusation. “I care about him since he’s like my older brother. I only want the best for him.”

“You are so cute.”

Jungkook frowned at that, which made him only more lovable. “Stop calling me that, because I’m not. Cute, I mean.”

“If you say so.”

Jungkook cleared his throat to regain his composure. “So what are your plans with Seokjin hyung?”

“Um, we’ll just go grab something to eat and see this band playing downtown tonight.”

“No, I mean generally.”

“You mean like…. in the future?” Namjoon couldn’t help but raised his eyebrows at the kid. “How old are you again? Ten?”

“Thirteen! And answer the question!”

“I don’t know, I like him, but this is like our third date.”

“For your good, I really hope that you’re not messing around with him. If you hurt him, I swear I’ll-.”

“Jungkook! What have I said about minding your business?” Seokjin reappeared out of nowhere, and didn’t hesitate to lightly clip the youngest on the ear, which earned him a little whine and betrayed scowl. “We’re not even related for you to go into this parents slash older brother mode. I can take care of myself.”

“But hyuuung-”

“Don’t hyung me, I’m being serious right now.” Seokjin said shortly, while collecting his phone and keys, and then pulled Namjoon towards the door. “Taetae should be back from his music class in like twenty minutes, you can wait for him here.”

“Hyung…”

After tying his red converse, Seokjin stood up and affectionately pinched his neighbor at the cheek, the irritation at the boy’s behaviour already forgotten. “See you later, Kookie?”

“Okay,” replied the boy meekly.

“Okay,” repeated Seokjin before glancing at Namjoon. “Shall we?”

“Whenever you’re ready.”

Seokjin’s eyes crinkled at the corners like it always did when he was happy, and Namjoon really liked the idea that he was the reason behind those bright grins these days.  Without a second thought, he intertwined their hands together as they left the house, now walking down the porch stairs.

“I’m really sorry about whatever Jungkook said or asked. I know very well that sometimes he can be-”

“Don’t worry about that. I think he’s adorable.”

“Again, I’m not, you moron!”

“Jungkook!”

“See? A total sweetheart.”
