Look, this award is for Malec’s storyline from season 1. Is it too soon to say there’s a chance to also win next year with s2 storyline??? No??
We’re halfway through the season and we already had a few meaningful, healthy scenes. Get ready fam, possibilities are quite big
+ if they explore more of Raphael’s ace storyline, this will also count

Everdeen Vineyards

happy valentine’s day, just barely! here’s a little drabble that wouldn’t leave me, hope you enjoy <3

“Have you had a chance to look at the menu yet?” Katniss asked the back of the man’s head, her eyes already scanning the room to make note of the new patrons she still needed to greet. A steady flow of customers through the tasting room was keeping her busy–not that she was complaining. Not much, anyway.

The man turned around, and she snapped her gaze back to him, a polite smile fixing itself to her lips. “Not yet, I’m afraid.” He smiled, and her expression froze as she got a look at his face for the first time. “Hey, Katniss.”

It took an embarrassingly long moment for the synapses in her brain to fire, and her smile slipped. “Oh–Peeta?” Why she phrased it like a question, she didn’t know. Of course, it was Peeta. She’d recognize that face, with those blue eyes and that sweet smile, anywhere. She just hadn’t expected to see it here. “Oh my god–what–I mean, hi. Wow.”

He laughed slightly, and she felt herself blushing. She shook her head, forcing a laugh too. “I’m sorry. How are you?” she asked awkwardly. She wasn’t entirely sure of the protocol for greeting an old high school classmate who’d existed mainly on the periphery of her acquaintances. The last time she’d seen him was graduation 10 years ago.

“I’m good,” he said, sliding his hands into his pants pockets. “I just wanted to check this place out. I, ah, saw your post about it on Facebook.” He looked sheepish when he said that, and she blinked. She wasn’t sure how to feel about that–the fact that he could, and did, apparently, read her posts on Facebook. She’d accepted his friend request years ago in college without much thought; they weren’t friends or anything, but she’d received numerous requests from people she barely knew from high school over the years, so it hadn’t seemed too strange. Some–actually, probably most requests–she’d declined. She hadn’t seen the harm in adding him, though. She didn’t know him well, but Peeta Mellark was nice. Funny. Popular. College wrestling champion two years in a row, or something like that–not that she was keeping tabs. He’d regularly show up in her feed over the years, even though they never interacted.

Since she barely used Facebook these days, it just didn’t occur to her he would ever see anything from her.

“Right, of course,” she said with a dazed laugh. “That was the point. Um, thanks for coming. That’s–that’s really nice of you.” She folded her arms over her chest, feeling uncomfortable and not sure what to do with her hands. They were trembling slightly.

Peeta pressed his lips into a small smile, his eyes darting around as he surveyed the room, the people milling around them. “This place looks incredible.”

She wondered if she was ever going to stop blushing at this point. “Thank you. I mean, most of the groundwork was already laid.” She took a deep breath, not wanting to launch into that story. If he’d seen her post, then he’d already learned of her efforts to revitalize her family’s old vineyard, which had been in disrepair since her father’s death more than a decade ago. “Let me get you a menu.”

He nodded while she grabbed a paper menu from a nearby table, holding it out for him. “We do glasses and bottles of the wines listed here, but we also offer a tasting where you can sample seven of our wines. If you haven’t been here before, I recommend that.” She stopped herself and laughed, shaking her head. “Which, of course you haven’t. This weekend is the grand reopening. I just mean–that’s probably what you want to do.”

His eyes flicked up to her from the menu, a wide smile spreading across his face. “Yeah, that sounds good. I’ll do that. Thank you.”

“Sure. Just find a seat outside if you’d like, and I’ll bring the wine to you,” she said with a vague gesture toward the patio, already turning away to scurry to the bar. She needed a moment to compose herself, inexplicably rattled.

It was just…Peeta. Mellark. Here. To see her. Or rather, to see her vineyard, but it was her vineyard. And he’d come because she’d made a post on Facebook proudly announcing the reopening of Everdeen Vineyards, after three years of planning and toiling and fermenting wines until they were just right.

Don’t Say Anything (End)

Summary: You finally decide to tell Bucky that you’ve been in love with him since the day you met but what happens when you walk in on him with a girl? And not just any girl; Natasha.

Pairing: Bucky x Reader

Warnings: just fucking fluff my dude. We need fluff after this emotional rollercoaster DSA put us through. Also warning if you don’t support having a kid before getting married I guess? Fun fact: My parents aren’t married at all but they’ve been together for 18 years (crazy, I’m 17) and my momma had me when she was 19. Idk why I’m telling you this alright goodbye

A/N: Why do I always put an authors note even when it isn’t necessary? It’s a mystery to me. Anywaysssss It’s over! Thank you so much for sticking with me throughout this series, I hope you absolutely loved it! Heartbreaking fics is what I do best I guess. Alrighty well finish reading this shit and tell me what ya this overall :)

9 years later

Bucky wakes up to the sound of giggling and the smell of bacon being cooked. He let out a grunt and stretched, looking over and checking the time on his clock. 9:15 AM. With a huff (because quite honestly, he didn’t want to get out of bed) he stood up and immediately saw the papers sticking to his metal arm by the help of some magnets. He smiled, taking them off and looking them over. There were 2.

One of the papers had ‘I love you daddy’ written on it with hearts while the other had a stick figure drawing of 5 people all smiling. This made Bucky smile even more, knowing exactly who pinned the papers to his arm. He pulled the magnets off and walked downstairs, heading straight to the kitchen where he saw you and his three kids.

Your first child was named Rosalyn. Rosalyn Winnifred Barnes. She wasn’t necessarily a mistake - god no - but she was unplanned. You and Bucky had only been dating for 3 years when you got pregnant with Rosalyn. It was a surprise for both of you. Her middle name, obviously named after Bucky’s mother. You remember his reaction when you suggested it.

After many long hours in labor, you had finally given birth to a beautiful baby girl. You were sat up on the bed, pen in hand as you filled out the form the nurse had passed on to you. You and Bucky had agreed on the name Rosalyn but when you came across ‘middle name’ you turned to the super soldier who was in the middle of doing skin-to-skin with your little bundle of joy.

“Buck.” you say softly. His blue eyes find yours and he smiles. “We never discussed a middle name.”

He pouted, looking down at his daughter who was sleeping soundly in his arms. “Hmm.. Delilah? What do you like?”

Your eyes go down to your daughter and you smile before locking eyes with Bucky. “How about Winnifred?”

The ex assassin’s eyes soften and gloss over with tears at the mention of his mothers name. “Really?”

“Yes, really. It’s a beautiful name.” you nod.

Bucky sniffled, quickly wiping away a stray tear. “It is.” his eyes travel down to the baby. “Rosalyn Winnifred Barnes. I love it.”

Your second child was named Olive Natalia Barnes. You had her a year into yours and Bucky’s marriage. She was a stubborn little thing; didn’t want to come out so the doctor had to induce your labor. Olive was a little sassy thing (I mean for Pete’s sake she rolled her eyes at Bucky!). She reminded you of Natasha, hence her middle name. Upon hearing the news about Olive’s middle name, the red head cried. A lot.

The doctor finally let you have visitors but only two at a time and the first two people through that door were Steve and Natasha. They made their way to the foot of the hospital bed and smiled at you.

“Hey Y/N,” Steve was the first to speak. “How’re you feeling?”

You give him a smile. “Sore, but I’ll manage.”

The blonde chuckles before moving over to his best friend leaving Natasha who had migrated beside you.

“You look like shit.” the red head comments and you laugh.

“Thanks Nat, just what I needed.”

“Hey, what kind of best friend would I be if I didn’t tell the truth?” you laugh again. “When can you go home?”

“They want me to stay one more day.” you respond and Natasha nods.

“Seems reasonable.” her eyes drift over to Olive who was wide awake. “And who’s this little one?” she cooed.

You smile. “This is Olive.” you carefully hand her over to Natasha.

“What, no middle or last name mom and dad?” she joked, keeping her eyes on the baby.

You look over at Bucky who smirked and that’s just what you needed before you turned back to Natasha. “Natalia. Olive Natalia Barnes.”

Her eyes snap up to meet yours, flickering between you and Bucky. “Oh my god.”

Her eyes fill with tears as she starred down at your baby girl.

“Do you like it?” Bucky questioned when all you could hear was her crying.

“Buck and I think it suits her. She rolled her eyes at him earlier. Reminded me of you.” you add with a smile, watching the two bond.

Natasha lets out a laugh and wipes away her tears. “I love it.” she says. Olive wraps her tiny hand around Nat’s finger. “I love it so much.”

Your last and final child was named Steven Christopher Barnes. You had him four years into your marriage. Bucky chose his name; naming him after his best friend. In all the years you’ve known Steve, you’ve never seen him cry. That was until the day Bucky told him what his nephews name was.

The doctor allowed visitors two at a time, just like last time with Olive. Again, Natasha and Steve were the first two to come in. Bucky was holding your son, rocking him back and forth in his arms.

“Alright, kid number three, let’s get this show on the road.” Nat joked as she sat in the extra chair beside you.

You lean your head back and smile.

“How was it? The birth, I mean.” Steve asked as he stood next to Bucky.

“God, by far the easiest.” you respond causing both Natasha and Steve to laugh. “He just slipped right out like a waterslide.” you imitated a waterslide with your hands and mouth and Bucky chuckled.

“Wow really?” the red head questioned.

“Mhm. They told me to push, I did and he was out like that.” you snap.

“Wow..” she murmured. “Oh hey are you fine… down there?”

“What do you mean?” you ask.

“Well with Rose you… ripped… down there and then Olive did the same thing. Did it happen this time?” she questioned.

“Nat, do you see how big my son is?” you gesture over to Bucky. Steven has been your smallest child - in a healthy way of course, he was perfectly healthy.

“Ah, okay, I’m taking that as a no.” she nods.

The two men chuckle and you advert your eyes over to them.

“What’s the little guy’s name?” Steve questioned, peering down at your son.

“Do you want to hold him?” Bucky asked as he stood up.

“Yeah, of course.” the blonde nods. Bucky passes Steven to his friend who cradles the little bundle safely.

Bucky smiles at the sight. “His name’s Steven. Steven Christopher Barnes.”

When the super soldier looked up, his eyes were threatened with tears. “You named him after me?”

“Yeah. You’re the most caring, inspiring, brave, kind-hearted person I know and I only hope my son will turn out like you. You’re a good man, Steve. I’m proud to call you my best friend.” Bucky tells him.

Steve lets out a small sob as he gently hands Steven over to you before engulfing his best friend in a tight hug. “Thank you, Buck.” he cried into the brunettes shoulder. “I love it.”

“What are you lovely ladies doing?” he asked playfully. Steven makes a noise from his highchair. “Oh, and gentleman.”

“We’re helping mommy with breakfast!” your six year old, Rosalyn replied with a smile.

“Daddy, daddy! Did you see my drawing?” your four year old, Olive asked, jumping off the chair she was sitting in and running over to Bucky.

He squats down to her level. “I did and I loved it, doodles.”

Olive smiled and wrapped her arms around her father. Bucky calls her doodles because she loves to draw. He picks her up in his arms before striding over to the fridge. Using the two magnets, he pins the papers to the fridge before making his way over to you.

“Morning baby.” he spoke.

“Morning.” you look at him and smile only for Bucky to capture your lips in a kiss. Rosalyn and Olive let out strings of ‘ew’ and Bucky pulls away, chuckling.

“What are you saying ‘ew’ to?” he questioned, holding Olive tightly as he rounded the counter to Rosalyn.

“You and mommy kissed.” Rosalyn scrunched up her nose.

“What’s wrong with kissing?” he was now standing in front of her.

“It’s nasty!” Olive cuts in and Rosalyn nods in agreement.

Bucky smirked. “Oh really? So how would you feel if I.. kissed you!” he grabs Rosalyn and began peppering kisses on both her and Olive. They laughed, trying to get away from him but of course failed. He didn’t let them go until one year old Steven shouted ‘daddy’.

Moving away from the girls, he walked over to Steven who sat in his highchair, eating. “What? Why’re you yelling at me?”

The toddler giggles and raises his arms in the air, making grabbing motions.

“You want up?” Bucky asked and Steven nods. “Well too bad. Eat your food.”

Bucky turns away but looks over his shoulder only to see Steven’s lip quivering, getting ready to cry. He immediately turns back to his son and kneels down. “Oh no baby I was just kidding, come here.”

He lifts Steven out of his highchair and cradles him to his chest as he swayed back and forth.

You put the last piece of bacon on a plate before taking it over to the table, passing Bucky and Steven. After setting the plate down, you turn to your husband and son. “Oh my baby, what happened amorcito?” you coo and Steven lifts his head off of Bucky’s shoulder to look at you. He’s pouting, lip quivering even though he was perfectly fine when Bucky picked him up. “Is daddy being mean?”

The one year old nods and you softly run your fingers through his hair with a pout. Bucky rubs Steven’s back and kisses his cheek. “I’m sorry, bug.”

After a minute or two, Bucky puts Steven back in his highchair before sitting down as well, ready to eat.

You and your family make it to Tony’s new and improved Stark Tower (Tony’s request). Upon entering the living room, you see that everyone was already there.

“Hey.” you greet first, Steven in your arms while Bucky held Rosalyn and Olive’s hands.

They all turn their heads towards you and smile. “Hey guys.”

“Auntie Nat!” Olive shouted, pulling her hand from Bucky’s and running over to Natasha.

“Hey doodles, what’s crackin’?” the red head placed Olive on her lap.

“The bones of my enemies.” the four year old responds and you shake your head.

“Ah, I’ve taught you well.” Natasha high fives her.

Rosalyn slips away from Bucky’s grasp and makes her way over to Wanda and Vision.

“Hi aunt Wanda.” Rosalyn smiled.

“Hey Rose.” Wanda grinned, making room for the six year old to sit.

“Hi Vis.” Rosalyn waved.

Vision nods his head. “Hello, Rosalyn.”

Rose gets comfy. “Can you tell me about outer space?”

“Why yes,” he smiled. “What would you like to know?”

You tear your gaze away from the two when Steve comes towards you, arms outstretched. “Gimme.”

You smile, handing him Steven who hugs Steve tightly. “Hey buddy.” he chuckled. You watch him walk back to Sam and Clint and you scoff.

“The asshole didn’t even say hi to me. No ‘how’re you doing’ or ‘hi Y/N - Nothing!” you say.

Bucky chuckled. “He’s attached at the hip with Steven. Those two are hard to separate.”

You playfully roll your eyes. “Tell me about it.”

At that moment, Bruce walks up to the two of you, a water bottle in hand. “Hey guys.”

“Bruce! You’re back!” Bucky exclaimed, hugging the doctor.

“Yeah, I’m back.” he laughed as they pulled away.

“For good?” you question.

Bruce smiles, knowing why you’re asking. “Yeah, for good.” he then turns to look at Natasha who was busy with Olive. “It’s about time I stop running away from the good things in my life.”

You grin and Bruce turns back to you. “Anyways I should get going, I’m surprised Tony hasn’t called me-”

“Bruce!” Tony’s voice cut off the doctor.

Bruce chuckled. “I spoke too soon. See you guys later.” and with that, he disappeared into the backyard.

Bucky set the diaper bag down near the wall just as Thor walked up to you. “James, Y/N!”

“Thor!” you shout, wrapping your arms around him. He gives you a bone crushing hug. Literally. He cracked your back.

“How is everything? The kids?” he asked.

“Everything’s good, the kids are good.” you nod over to where they are.

“And the baby..” he trails off.

“Steven.” you nod.

“Ah, you named him Steven.”

You let out a laugh. “Thor, I was not going to name him what you suggested.”

Bucky wraps his arm around your waist, a thing he usually does for no reason.

Thor touches his chest dramatically. “What’s wrong with Asgardian Warrior Barnes?”

“Everything!” you chuckle.

“It would have been perfect for him. He could have been a warrior for Asgard.” he responds.

“Uncle Thor!” the voice of Olive rips through the air.

“Yes, my green Olive-” Thor turns around with a smile but it is immediately wiped away when he sees Olive holding his hammer with no struggle at all. Suddenly everyone’s eyes are on her.

“Uncle Tony tripped over your hammer so I brought it to you.” she smiled, lifting it up. Thor takes it.

“Right.. Uh…” he clears his throat, looking around the room at everyone who was watching. “Thank you Olive.”

She nods and walks back to Natasha while everyone pondered what just happened. Four year old Olive just picked up Thor’s hammer. Holy fuck.

“Right…” Thor says again. “I’m just gonna… go see if Tony needs help.”

And he was gone. Sam was the first to break the silence, laughing his ass off. “Hey Bucky, your kid is worthy.”

“Can it, Sam.” Bucky chuckled and just like that, everything was back to normal. You look around the room, frowning when you don’t see Pietro even though you knew he was away on a solo mission. You missed your best friend.

“Whatcha thinkin’ about, baby doll?” Bucky questioned.

“Pietro.” you sighed. “I miss him.”

“I know baby,” he sighed, kissing your forehead. “He’ll be back next week.”

“I know.” you lean into him, wrapping your arms around his waist. You let out a deep sigh, watching your kids smile and laugh with your friends. It was a wonderful sight.

“Hey Y/N.” Bucky murmured softly and you pull away slightly, enough to look at him.

“Yeah?”

The brunette smiled. “Thank you,” he says. “For giving me a chance all those years ago. For marrying me. For giving me three beautiful children. Thank you.”

It’s your turn to smile. “I love you, Bucky.”

“I love you too, Y/N.” he responds and your lips meet in a kiss. “And maybe we can get Nat or Steve to watch the kids tonight so we can…” he trails off while his thumbs rubs circles on your side.

“How long has it been since we’ve had sex?” you question.

“Six months.”

You groan before looking around. Olive was with Natasha, Rosalyn was listening to Vision talk about outer space and Steve was sitting on the floor with Steven and Sam, Legos sprawled out before them. You look back at Bucky.

“Who says we have to wait till tonight?” you smirk.

“Are you suggesting we-”

“Yup.” you nod. “My old room is upstairs and I know for a fact that it’s empty.”

“Naughty, naughty.” the soldier smirked before glancing around to make sure no one was watching. “Let’s go.” and with a squeeze to your hip, the two of you enter the elevator.

Some things never change.

A/N: I don’t know if you guys read my end-of-the-chapter authors notes but if you do holy fUck this was 2617 words and it’s 5:39 AM and I’ve watched Wreck-It Ralph a total of 5 times while writing this. Anyways it’s the end! Tell me what ya think!

Only days before finals and the pressure of the world was upon your shoulders. Your eyes were stinging but you had to spend every last waking hour to shove all the possible information you needed in your head, there was no other option. You glare at your notebook with what seemed to be the thousandth calculus problem you’ve done, frustration was slowly building up in your chest as a groan escapes your lips because somehow you couldn’t seem to figure out this one topic. You bury your head into your palms and rub the sides of your head as you feel an impending headache set in. This little mantra repeated itself in your head: Don’t be a failure, don’t be a failure, don’t be a failu—your ears perk at the sound of your phone buzzing.

I See Stars in Your Eyes (Must be Painful)

This is for the amazing @ackerchou who has graced us with Season 2 Voltron Actor!AU headcannons and I LOVED THEM ALL. I’m writing dancing Lance and kiddie Coran and Allura next. Watch me. Pls check them out because I wanna write a fic for all of them. And because she is awesome and made me feel better on a day I felt bad. There’s aren’t many spoilers for season 2 in this fic but just in case it is tagged. I hope you enjoy it!

x.V.x

Keith was slightly ashamed to admit that he hadn’t watched the original Voltron before trying out for a part in the new series. In fact, he sort of, kinda, had never even heard of Voltron before until his first day on set as a Galra stunt double. That is until there was a surprise visit from the original cast from the 80’s Voltron series.

Keith was only slightly mortified that he was the only one who didn’t know who they were.

Especially since he had thought that Akira was an older stunt double and he had nearly flipped Akira on his shoulder when the man surprised him.

Even after all this, Lance still wouldn’t stop laughing.

And of course he had a video of Keith nearly flipping over the original leader of Voltron who was at least twice Keith’s age (but damn did he still look good) and very well known in the world of Voltron. The video even had Keith apologizing over and over to an amused Akira, while everyone stood around staring.

Keith would remember this next time Lance wanted something.

Currently he was hanging back in the background while the old cast of Voltron took a tour of the new set to see how far Voltron had come. There was awe and admiration thrown left and right from both the cast of the 80s and the cast of the 2010s. It was a strange sight to see the different cast members who played the paladins together, each very different in their own way and yet so perfect for each character they played.

#24 'Don't look at me like that!' please :) xxx

24. Don’t look at me like that

aka THE SOPPY BIRTHDAY FIC RJS DESERVES

Robert wakes up slowly. There are gentle fingers sifting through his hair and familiar lips peppering kisses up the back of his neck. Aaron is a warm weight all along his back. He turns his head to smile into the pillow. He’s never moving.

“Happy birthday, husband,” Aaron murmurs, breath stirring the hair behind Robert’s ear. It makes him shiver.

God. Thirty five. He’s bloody ancient.

Robert’s never really been bothered about birthdays. Not much point when no one else cared. But they matter to Aaron and that means they matter to him now. Besides, Robert’s never been one to complain about being adored.

Aaron shifts until he’s propped up on an elbow and Robert rolls on to his back with a sigh, stretching. It never gets old, seeing Aaron first thing in the morning. Seeing him still soft and open and so wonderfully, perfectly Robert’s. He’s so lucky.

Some of what he’s feeling must show on his face because Aaron’s eyes go warm and he leans down for a kiss. Soft and sweet, a wet little suck of Robert’s bottom lip.

“So what’s the plan?” Robert asks, when Aaron’s pulled back it’s clear that’s all he’s getting for now. “Party over the road or into town with Adam and Vic?”

Aaron raises en eyebrow. “Am I really that predictable?” he asks. “Maybe there is no plan, maybe this is your lot.”

Robert grins, lifts the duvet to peer down at Aaron’s naked body teasing. “I could probably make do,” he says.

“You could probably fuck off,” Aaron says primly but he’s smiling ruefully, teeth in his bottom lip.

“Now is that anyway to treat the love of your life on his birthday?”

That gets him an eye roll and Aaron’s leg slung across Robert’s thigh.

“Maybe the love of my life should learn to keep his mouth shut,” Aaron suggests, as though his hand isn’t already on its way to cup Robert’s balls, fingers teasing at the skin behind them.

“Never,” he says. And if he’s already a little breathless, well, Aaron doesn’t call him on it. It is his birthday after all.

It takes Aaron exactly sixteen minutes to get him off. Two fingers crooked just right and Robert’s dick down his throat. Robert spends most of that time working his jaw silently at the ceiling, one hand in the sheets and the other gripping Aaron’s shoulder for dear life. He shouts when he comes and Aaron doesn’t even call him on that either. It really is good to be the birthday boy.

Aaron kisses him after. He tastes of Robert and damn if that isn’t always far sexier than it should be, but he twitches away when Robert reaches for him properly. “We, ah. Should probably head downstairs,” he says. “Liv’s probably about ready to kill me.”

Robert feels his face go slack, “Liv’s here?” He’s already out of bed. There’s a t shirt on the floor, that’ll do. She wasn’t meant to be back ‘til the weekend, Robert was supposed to be making to drive to collect her so she didn’t spend all her student loan on train fare.

Aaron politely refrains from laughing. “Course she is, it’s your birthday.”

No one can prove that Robert runs down the staircase. At least he doesn’t insist on constantly sliding down the bannister like it’s a bloody helter skelter. Like some people.

Robert stutters to a stop in the kitchen doorway. Because it’s not just Liv at the table, jumper held over her nose to hide a grin, it’s bloody everyone. Not even just Vic or Diane, Charity is there. And Noah and Marlon and a couple of Dingles he only ever speaks to at Christmas dinner. They’re all there, dotted around the kitchen in between a mass of balloons and drinking Robert’s expensive coffee.

They’re also all looking at him like they know exactly what he was just doing but Robert’s too stunned to feel any shame. Isn’t great at that at the best of times.

He turns to Aaron helplessly.

Aaron shakes his head. “Don’t look at me like that! It wasn’t my idea.”

Liv gets up for a hug. “He knew about it though,” she says, pulling a face. “So gross.”

Which makes everyone laugh and winds up with Liv in a head lock under Aaron’s arm for most of a quite rousing rendition of “Happy Birthday.”

Robert tucks into his cake in shock, accepts hugs from all the ladies in the room, doesn’t even pull a face when Chas slaps a party hat on him. He can’t believe they came here for him.

He tells Aaron as much later, when they’re clearing away sticky plates and ferrying glasses to the sink for Liv.

Aaron knocks his knuckles to Robert’s chest as he passes. “S’what family’s for innit?”

Robert catches his sleeve, tugs him back in for a kiss. “Thank you,” he says.

“Thank Liv, I just paid for the cake.”

“No,” Robert says, lets his voice go soft like it only ever does for Aaron. And Liv and Vic, if he’s feeling soppy. “Thank you for all of it. For everything. For,” he shrugs, at a loss. “For this life.”

Aaron’s smile is tender, like something inside him hurts. “Robert, we love you okay? I love you. You don’t have to say thank you for that.”

Robert nods. “Must be getting sentimental in my old age.”

He gets another kiss for that.

All in all, it’s shaping up to be good day.

Five Times Enjolras Almost Proposed to Grantaire, and Twice He Did

@ionlyrunfromshameyour wish is my command. Established ExR, Modern AU, fluffy as fluffy can be.

Grantaire bounced on the balls of his feet, barely able to contain his excitement as the line into the Louvre inched forward. “So I know I’ve said it like a bajillion times, but I really appreciate you coming here with me.”

“It’s not like it’s a hardship for me to spend time with you on our vacation to Paris,” Enjolras said, amused. “I may not be as into art as you, but there’s some great pieces in the Louvre – Delacroix’s Liberty Leading the People; Meissonier’s The Barricade, rue de la Mortellerie, June 1848; Vien’s The Triumph of the Republic…I could go on.”

Rolling his eyes good-naturedly, Grantaire looped his arm through Enjolras’s and leaned his head against his shoulder. “Naturally, I should have guessed where your interest would lie. Just promise me you’re not going to pull a Bastille reaction and start crying.”

Enjolras scowled at him. “Look, it was our first night in Paris, I had had a bit too much wine at your insistence, I would remind you, and it’s an emotional part of history.”

Perfect.

That’s the word everyone used to describe Harry and I’s relationship. And, to be honest, I agreed. Ever since we met, Harry and I just clicked, and we were always by each other’s side. We were inseparable after being friends for three weeks. And then a few years went by, and we had grown up together. And the feelings we had towards one another started showing, no matter how hard we tried to hold them in. Then, one night, Harry and I were walking around after having dinner with some friends, and rain started pouring down from the sky. Soaked, we got in Harry’s car and went back to his place. I showered and he gave me a change of clothes, him showering and changing after I had. We ate our leftovers and watched movies, not realizing how late it was because time had gotten away from us, as it did often when we hung out.

“Is it really almost four in the morning?” Harry looked at his phone screen in surprise.

My eyes got wide. “Holy shit, where did the time go?”

“I know, right?” He chuckled. “I swore it felt like it was maybe one or one thirty.”

I sighed, realizing I had my head on Harry’s shoulder, his arm around me. Had we been like this the entire time? I looked up at him and he was already looking at me, a smile on his face.

“What'cha smiling at?” I sing-songed.

He laughed. “You.”

I laughed lightly. “Why?”

He hesitated, then exhaled. “Would you think I was mad if I told you I was in love with you?”

I looked at him in shock, a smile appearing on my face. “No, because I’m in love with you too.”

He grinned, then leaned in and kissed me. Do you know what the only word that could describe that moment was? Perfect.

Two and a half years later, we were a few months away from celebrating our third anniversary, and Harry was acting strange. I didn’t know why, and it concerned me. Selena came over and I vented to her, crying and worrying that Harry was going to leave me or something. She consoled me, saying that Harry would never break my heart. That he loved me way too much to ever leave me. And after she left, Harry. came home. I was in our room, so I walked out to the living room, anxious to ask him why he wasn’t acting like himself. But when I got to the living room, I saw Harry crouched on the floor, his back to me.

“Hey, babe?” I said nervously.

He turned around, smiling as he held a golden retriever puppy with a bow on its light blue collar.

“Yes, love?” He grinned.

I gasped, walking over to him and petting the dog. “Harry, you did not,”

“Yes, I did,” He nodded. “You’ve always said you wanted a puppy, so I decided to get you one.”

I smiled, tearing up. “You’re the sweetest, you know that?”

“I like to think so,” He chuckled. “What do you want to name him?”

I thought for a moment. “Hm… how about Rain? But like, maybe with an e on the end?”

“Why Raine?” He asked.

“Because, if it didn’t rain that one night, I would’ve just went home instead of coming here. And you probably wouldn’t have told me how you felt about me until much later.” I explained. “I guess you could say we wouldn’t have gotten together so soon if it wasn’t for the rain.

He beamed. “Ah, I guess you’re right. Raine is the perfect name for this little guy.”

After that moment, things continued to be how they always were. Everyone swore that by the time our anniversary came that Harry would propose to me. And though I’d laugh it off, I wanted that more than anything. I wanted our perfect relationship to become a perfect marriage. And I thought Harry did too.

But, when we had but only a month and a half left until we’d celebrate being together for three years, Harry started acting weird again. Instead of acknowledging the uneasy feeling I had, I just chalked it up to everyone’s suspicions being true. That he was going to propose. One night, Niall and Harry suggested that Selena and I have a girls’ day, and we’d get dinner together that night. Though we were suspicious, we went along with it. Many times throughout the day, Selena swore that when we came home that Niall would have some kind of excuse for her and him to leave, and Harry would propose to me. And, again, I really hoped that was the case. Then, when we still had a couple hours until we’d be on our way back, Niall called Selena. He said that there was a change of plans, that Harry wasn’t feeling well and that he would be at home waiting for Selena. So we left fifteen minutes after the call, Selena going home to Niall and me going home to Harry. At least, that’s what I thought. I came home to an empty house, Raine greeting me when I came in. I pet him, then looked around the house to see if Harry was really gone, and if he had left a note. But he was no where to be found, and he didn’t leave a note. I called him many times, him ignoring every single one. I texted him, saying that it was so unlike him to be this way and we needed to talk as soon as possible. I checked every five minutes to see if he had read it, but he didn’t read it at all.

Harry didn’t come home that night.

The next morning, I woke up to tons of notifications. Before I could even go through them, Selena called me.

“Hello?” I answered.

“(Y/n), have you seen or heard anything?” Selena asked me.

“No?” I said, confused. “I literally just woke up.”

She sighed. “I guess I’ll be the bearer of bad news. There are pictures everywhere of Harry leaving The Nice Guy with Nikita.”

I felt like my heart had stopped. Harry wasn’t home last night because he was with his ex. And he didn’t come home, which meant he stayed with her. I almost got sick at the thought of what probably happened. Tears flowed from my eyes as I sobbed, the hardest I’d cried in the longest time.

“How did this happen?” I wept.

“I don’t know, babe,” Selena said sadly. “But I think the best thing for you to do is to just come stay with Niall and I for a while. You know, so you can get some space and think about things.”

I nodded, though I knew she couldn’t see me. “You’re right, I’ll pack some stuff and come over there.”

“Alright,” She sighed again. “Drive safe, love you.”

“Thanks, love you too.” I said quietly.

I got up, brushing my teeth and getting ready. I finished packing, and before I could get my things and go, I heard the front door open and close. Raine, who was laying on the bed next to my bags, ran to see who it was. I already knew who it was, and anger boiled within me. I walked out there, seeing a very tired and sad looking Harry. I crossed my arms, glaring at him.

He looked up at me, petting Raine. “What’s going on?”

“You know damn well what’s going on.” I said, growing more furious by the second. “Do you have anything to say for yourself?”

He stood there, realizing I knew what he had done. He didn’t speak.

I laughed sarcastically. “Of course you don’t. So, you go from promising dinner to our friends and I, to not coming home last night? What the hell is wrong with you?!”

He looked down, still not speaking, so I continued.

“Not only did you not come home, you went out with your ex and then went home with her! When you had your fucking girlfriend at home waiting for you! What kind of twisted fuck does that?!”

After an agonizing silence, he spoke up. “I’m so sorry, love. I–”

“Don’t,” I spat. “You don’t get to call me that anymore.”

He looked me in the eye for the first time during our conversation. “What are you saying?”

“Do you expect me to stay with you after what you did?” I scoffed. “Harry, everyone knows about what happened, it’s all over social media and it’s on tv. Everyone knows you’re a cheating prick. Why the hell should I stay with you?!”

He looked away again, shrugging. “I guess I don’t expect you to.”

It got quiet once again, and I decided to ask something I wasn’t sure I wanted to know the answer to.

“Why’d you do it? Why would you do this to me? To us? We were perfect, Harry.”

He hesitated. “I-I don’t know, (y/n).”

I stared at him in disbelief. “You don’t know? You cheated on me, throwing almost three years down the drain, and you don’t know why you did it?!”

He didn’t say anything.

“Wow,” I laughed sadly. “Well, Raine and I are leaving. We’ll talk when you figure out what your reason for fucking our relationship up is.”

It had been a week since I left Harry. Niall and Selena were nice enough to allow Raine and I to stay with them until I finalized everything with the real estate agent that was helping me find a new place. Of course, like everything else, the media was talking about it. How ‘award winning singer-songwriter (y/f/n) (y/l/n) left her boyfriend of three years and former One Direction member Harry Styles, and is getting her own place after he cheated on her’. The thing was, we didn’t even make it to three years. We were two months away, eight weeks from another anniversary. And just like that, it was ruined.

At first, I wondered if it was something I did. But then came to the realization that I had been the best girlfriend I could’ve possibly been to Harry. I gave him my all, my everything. I didn’t do anything to deserve what he did. So, that meant it was him. I wasn’t sure what, but he did what he did because of something that was going on with him. And that gave me a small bit of relief. My heart was still in a million different pieces, but it helped knowing I did absolutely nothing wrong.

Selena, Raine, and I sat in the living room, when the door opened and shut. Niall came into the room and he had Louis with him.

Niall sat next to Selena, and Louis next to him. Raine perked up when he saw them, his tail wagging. He was such a lovable dog, and it wasn’t as little as he used to be. When he sat, he came to a little above my knee, and it seemed like he grew more and more everyday. He got down from his spot next to me on the couch and sat between Louis and Niall, both of them petting him and grinning.

Niall sighed, his smiling falling. “I know you probably don’t want to hear this, (y/n), but Harry’s a wreck. He refuses to do anything, and he just cries and cries…”

“Poor lad needs someone to all but force him to drink some water,” Louis snowballed, still petting Raine.

Selena chuckled. “He should be upset. Do you remember how she cried herself to sleep up until the night before last? How I had to make sure she drank and ate something. He should be devastated, he brought this on himself. And honestly, I don’t feel bad for him. And you feel the exact same way, right, (y/n)?”

I went to answer her, but I couldn’t. I should be glad Harry wasn’t happy right now. But I wasn’t. I felt guilty, though I knew that I shouldn’t. I couldn’t bring myself to feel okay with this, and all I could think about is how I needed to go see him.

The next day, I showed up at the place that Harry and I shared just a week ago. I knocked on the door, then waited. Eventually it opened, a very surprised Harry appearing on the other side of it.

“W-What are you doing here,” He stammered, his voice raspy. His hair was a mess and his eyes were red, his cheeks tear stained. He looked like a mess.

“Can we talk?” I exhaled.

He hesitated, then opened the door, allowing me in.

We sat in the living room on separate couches. Silence filled the room, and I swore I’d probably be able to hear a pin drop.

After a while, Harry exhaled. “For a while, I’ve had this… feeling. And, I couldn’t quite place it at first. But eventually, I realized what it was. I realized… I didn’t deserve you. As much as I tried to just push it away, I couldn’t. And it got really bad, so I did something stupid. I tried to drink it away. I drank so much, and the next thing I knew I woke up next to Nikita. I swear to you, (y/n), it wasn’t my intention to hurt you. I never thought I’d ever hurt you.”

I exhaled, letting go of the breath I was holding in. “I felt like I didn’t deserve you, but I never went as far as drinking it away or cheating on you. Instead, I realized how blessed I was to call you mine, and I appreciated every single second I got with you.”

"And that’s exactly why I don’t deserve you.” Harry stared at his hands.

I scoffed. “Don’t you get it? All I’ve ever wanted was you! When I met you, I knew you’d be the man I would marry and have kids with. And now, even though we’re not together and that won’t happen, I still can’t see myself with anyone else.”

“You shouldn’t settle for me, (y/n).” He shook his head. “There’s someone much better for you out there.”

“That may be the case, but I’ll never love someone like I love you. I’ll love you forever.”

He got quiet. “I don’t know what to say…”

I scoffed again. “So you’re not going to fight for me?! You’re just going to let me go? …Pfft, you really must not love me as much as you say you do.”

“I do love you, (y/n).” He enunciated, seeing almost frustrated. “I love you with my whole damn heart… with every fiber of my being, that’s why i can’t let you try to get stuck with me. Move on, and find someone better, you deserve at least that. And I deserve the ability to say that I lost you when I swore to myself I’d never let that happen. I deserve to be humiliated, regretful, and remorseful.”

The room was silent once more. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t say anything.

“Now, go.” He said gently. “Go, be happy and take care of Raine. I want to be able to go on social media or turn on the television and see you smiling and being happy like you used to be. Before I fucked everything up.”

I sighed. “I’ll always love you, Harry.”

He smiled. “And I, you, (y/n). Always.”

“—I wasn’t even thinking when I turned the fire extinguisher on them, but it freaked ‘em out enough that they left with the drunk guy.”

Kent cackles. The sound of it buzzes through the air. There’s a tension in it, a static charge searching for something to ground it.

Jack blushes. Kent notices, sobering up. He shifts his weight from his right leg to his left.

“Sorry,” Kent rests the lip of his bear bottle between his teeth. “It’s a good story.”

“What’s so funny?” Bitty budges through the crowd of inebriated dancers.

He makes it a point to lean against the wall space between the two, watching them carefully. Kent hadn’t been keen on coming to this kegster. He was still reeling over how the last one ended. But this was different, they kept reminding him. There was no honor to reclaim. No friendship or love to rekindle. There was no objective for tonight other than to have fun.

“Zimms was telling me the fire extinguisher story.” Kent jostles his shoulder casually, amicably.

“Lord,” Bitty crinkle his nose. “Why on earth would you wanna hear about the football team?”

Luckily, someone stops by just then to ask for a selfie with Jack and Kent. Zimmermann and Parse—Zimms and Kenny—the dream team they’ve been calling them all season. People had strong reactions to their reunion (namely relief if you were a Falconers fan, fear if you weren’t). Kent thinks, hopes, Bitty’s forgotten the question. However, the second he looks away from the random party goer (selfie face still plastered tightly on) Bitty’s staring at him expectantly.

Kent sighs, “I wanted to know.”

Eric still doesn’t get it. “Know what?” he persists.

“What made you fall in love with him,” he says softly. The words have a quite resignation. Like a man who knew the ending of a tale before it even started. Like someone who was used to not being enough.

Bitty’s face falls. “Oh honey, he had me long before that.”

Kent nods, “good to know.”

Jack huffs, “I think we need some air.”

Bitty and Kent follow him out back without protest. The music is as loud out there as it is inside of the Haus. There are less bodies and heat, however, so Kent can think a little clearer. He thinks about the song that was playing when he arrived the last time. The lyrics seemed significant yet trivial at the time. Like his body new something about that night that his mind was catching up to.

“When the answer in what you want is in the question you state,” he finds himself murmuring.

Bitty blanches, trying to decode his meaning. Jack snorts. Which means of course, of course, Jack knows what he’s thinking. Jack has a way of reading him like a book.

“We took a class together that semester,” Jack begins without context. “Bits was helping me with a final project.”

“Yea that was it alright,” Bitty hums with a rueful smile.

“Was that it for you?” Kenny asks, excitement fluttering in his gut.

Jack shakes his head, “after we lost the Frozen Four that year.”

“Wow, that’s super romantic,” Kent chirps.

“It was,” Bitty smiles fondly. He leans over to kiss Jack’s cheek. “That was the longest I’d ever held someone before. It was nice.”

Kent feels the tightness of his lips. This is why he came; this is why he sticks around. They’re perfect for each other. And for some reason, they want him too. It’s a relief more than a burden most days. Kent knows today was easier than most, for all of them.

Jack clears his throat, taking Kent’s hand and pulling him into the side of him currently unoccupied by Bitty. Kent doesn’t look up as he feels Jack’s lips hover over his temple. Kent’s eyes flutter shut. For a moment, he’s sixteen again and everything’s momentarily peaceful. He opens them again, realizing that he’s twenty-seven and not everything’s perfect. But it’s gotten a lot easier to say it’s ok.

“It was the memorial cup,” Jack continues. “We were hugging and all I could think was, ‘I love it right here.’”

Kent nods, in understanding. A lot about that time was still muddled in trauma and anxiety. Everything about their lives and emotions were so high. It was ages ago, however. The scars were still visible, but mostly faded.

Bitty nudges Kent, “last winter. You were late to your own game because of me.”

Kent’s brows furrow, “Bits, you broke your arm. How could I not—”

Bitty chuckles, “I know. That’s when I knew.”

A warmth overflows from Kent’s heart. He looks between both of them and wonders how did he end right back here? At some lame party and some dumb college in the middle of the Boston suburbs. Only, it isn’t some lame party. From what he’s been told Epikegsters are legendary. You never know what (or who) will come up.

“We were sixteen,” Kent’s voice catches a little. “Your parents let me stay the night. We snuck out and went to that Arcade Fire show. I remember standing in that crowd and—I grabbed your hand. I thought you were gonna push me away.”

Jack nods, a sad smile gracing his lips.

“He pulled me in Bits,” Kent feels his face radiating. “Our first kiss was around five hundred other sweaty assholes.”

Bitty laughs, wiping a tear from his eye. “Of course, it was.”

“And you—” Kent takes Eric’s hand, kissing it with all the tenderness he can muster after three beers. (He briefly considers that this must be what adulthood feels like.) “You were in that kitchen, chirping me about an assist.”

Bitty tilts his head in confusion. “When was that?”

Kent squints. “Two months? After that one kegster.”

Bitty’s mouth opens to say something, probably some protest about ‘why didn’t you say something sooner’.” Instead, Jack swoops in to kiss Eric. Kent sighs in relief. Some questions take time. Some answers take even longer to get said. Kent’s fine with postponing this conversation. He’s got all the time in the world to tell them how much he loves them.

It’s Just a Prank.

//Jerome x reader.

Requested: Yes.

Summary: Y/n decides to pull a prank on Jerome by pretending she died.

Warnings: This got fairly angsty. Emotional Jerome, mild language. (Assumption of suicide.)

Rating: Fluff.

Title: It’s Just a Prank. //

Jerome bounds through the door, happier than ever. He can’t wait to tell y/n about the Maniax newest achievement. They had just made a name for themselves, literally. “Hey! Y/n apparently, I was right. We made headlines y/n. They know who we are.“ He laughs giddily, opening the door to the room that Theo assigned him. “Y/n?” He calls out, stepping in and flicking his light on. “Y/n, where are you? Ah, come on sugar!” His voice takes a playful tone. “Y/n,” he calls out in a sing-songy voice. “Well, sugar, if you wanna play…” He moves over to the closet, pulling the door back. “Come out, come out, wherever you are.” He laughs giddily, bounding from his room to the next, going in a line through all of the rooms; Barbara’s, Tabitha’s, Theo’s- all the way to Greenwood’s before finally jogging back up to his room, going past it to hers. He knocks on the door. “Sugar, baby, come on out!” He smiles to himself, giggling again under his breath. “Come on baby. I know you’re in there.” When he doesn’t get an answer, he grips the door handle. “All right sugar, I’m coming in to get you.” He twists the door handle, and tries to open it. “Sugar, come on.” He jiggles the doorknob again, the playfulness leaving him slightly. “Y/n, open the door.” He knocks loudly on it once more. “This isn’t funny anymore sugar, open the door.” He leans against it heavily, pushing his bottom lip out in a pout. “I wanna see you; I wanna talk to you, open the door…please?”

All of Jerome’s whining makes Barbara get up from the table and walk over.

“If you want in so bad why don’t you just use your key? We all know you have one, it’s not a secret.” She leans against the wall as she stares at Jerome with raised eyebrows. He rolls his eyes and reaches into his pocket.

“What’s the fun in that?” He mutters as he pulls the keys out and unlocks her door, swinging it open. “Y/n, I am officially upset that you didn-” Jerome doesn’t have a chance to finish whatever thought was in his mind. Everything goes blank and his vision swims as his gaze takes in the sight before him.

Y/n’s body is motionless on the ground, a pool of crimson blood surrounding her.

“Y/n!” Jerome gasps, moving forward quickly and kneeling at her body, pulling her up to him. “Y/n, y/n…who did this to you, who did this…” His words come out in small gasps as he realizes that it had to have been her. She did it to herself. He tries to force more words out, but his mouth stays firmly shut, nothing more but a small whimper coming from the back of his throat. He rests his forehead on her shoulder, nuzzling his face into her neck as the small whining noise grows louder. Jerome rocks back and forth, holding onto y/n tightly. “I can’t lose you,” he cries, his voice soft and broken. “I didn’t get to say good morning,” he gasps softly. “I didn’t tell you how beautiful you looked yesterday,” his words slur together as he begins talking faster, his heartbeat quickens. “I never made you breakfast like I promised I would,” Tears now freely run down Jerome’s face as he holds onto her like a life boat. “I never told you…” His voice cracks, and he tries to inhale deeply, only he chokes again and lets out a loud, shaky sob. “I never got to tell you I loved you,” Jerome sniffles and lets out another sob. “We were gonna be together,” he whispered. “We were gonna be together, you promised me. You promised me you wouldn’t leave me y/n.” He begins to shake slightly as his words grow more frantic. “You said you’d never leave my side, we were gonna rule Gotham together, sugar, why? Why’d you leave me, y/n-sug- why’d you leave me?” His voice rises to a shout at the end as he unravels completely. “Without you there’s nothing- nothing for me! You left me alone in the dark again y/n; I don’t want to be alone!” Just then, a small gasp comes from y/n’s mouth.

Jerome freezes, his whole body going rigid.

“Jerome, I didn’t know you felt that way…I…” Her voice trails off as he stands up stiffly, staring down at her.

“What is this?” He asks, his voice cold and sharp.

“I- I thought you would laugh, I thought you would find it funny…I’m so sorry Je-” Jerome’s eyes darken as he stares down at her, his fists clenching at his side.

“You thought it would be funny to fake your death?” Jerome growls, turning away from her quickly. “Of course, let’s get a laugh out of Jerome! The clown without any feelings!” Jerome snarls, beginning to walk out the door.

“I didn’t mean it like that and you know it!” She says, standing up. “I was just trying to pull a prank on you Jerome- like you do to me all the time!” He snaps around quickly, moving forward until she’s backed up against a wall, pointing his index finger at her face, his whole body shaking with rage.

“Faking your death isn’t a prank,” he whispers, his fiery eyes staring into hers.

“You thought it was funny when Greenwood makes these jokes,” y/n murmurs, staring up at him with wide eyes.

“I don’t give a shit about Greenwood. He’s not the one I share a bed with half the time,” Jerome stares down at her. “He’s not the one that I protect, the one that I can actually talk to.” His head tilts. “He’s not the damn fool that I love, y/n. So yes; I thought it was funny when Greenwood joked about it. Hell, if Greenwood had pulled this stunt it would’ve been funny. But not you. I’m not so heartless that I’d laugh at the idea of losing you, y/n.” He hisses the last sentence, his eyes dulling. “Do you think I’m that heartless? That I’m that insane? That I’m that…” His voice cracks again slightly, and he casts his gaze to the floor. “…screwed up?”

Y/n’s heart instantly melts at Jerome’s sudden vulnerability. For the first time ever, he was completely open to her. His shoulders slump slightly, his eyes no longer lite up with their constant fire. The ever-so present smile on his face has vanished completely, replaced with a firm line. It’s as if all the humor has drained from him at once. He stares off at the ground, no longer moving.

“Jerome…” Y/n whispers. His gaze takes an eternity to drag over to her, his eyes showing how completely empty he was; how completely alone and lost he felt. “I didn’t mean any of that. I- I would never think any of that, Jerome. I love you,” something in his eyes flickers at those words, and so y/n pulls him close to her. “I love you Jerome, I love you so much.” His body slowly relaxes again, his arms wrapping around her as he steps backwards, kissing y/n’s cheek softly. “I need you in my life Jerome,” she continues, holding onto him tight. “I’d never have done this if I kn-” Her apologizes are cut off by Jerome’s lips pressing against her own, although the kiss doesn’t last long.

He pulls away fairly quickly, inhaling shakily. “That was embarrassing.” He chuckles, running an unsteady hand through his hair.

“Showing your emotions isn’t embarrassing, Jerome.” Y/n says gently. Jerome rolls his eyes, perking up instantly.

“Whatever, sugar. I’m gonna go make us some waffles.” He bounces out of the room, already back to his normal self. A smile spreads across y/n’s face, and Barbara stares at her, apparently unfazed by the whole scene she just witnessed.

“Why are you so happy?” Barbara asks.

“Because,” she whispers, walking out to the hallway. “He’s making me breakfast.”

Okay you know that picture where the guy finds out his friend has 4 identical cats instead of one? I could see that happening with tsukkiyama. Like yams brings them all in the room an tsukki is nearly crying from laughing and yams is of course taking a video because they've been friends for like 8 years and tsukki never knew? Like even Hinata knew.

that sucks haha hinata probably teases him for that.

Be Mine- Newt Scamander x Reader

Valentine’s Day special

A/n: so I decided to post this early. I may or may not have a headcanon or drabble up on Valentine’s day, but here is the imagine I was talking about :) I would also like to let you all know that you are all beautiful, wonderful, talented, smart, and loved. Have a good day and Valentine’s Day you lovely people <3

Warnings: mass quantities of fluff ahead

You awoke to faint sunlight seeping into your room as you stretched your arms up with a slight yawn. Sleepily, you turned over to look for Newt, however, the freckled man was nowhere in sight. You untangled the sheets from your legs and let your feet touch the hard wooded surface of the floor boards. A shuffling was heard down the stairs, and you had assumed that it was Newt, but you had no idea as to why in Merlin’s name he was up so early. Before you left your room, you glanced over at the calendar that sat above Newt’s desk. The bold black letters spiraled into and intricate display of the date, which just so happened to read ‘February 14.’

Today was Valentine’s Day.

You had known that it was approaching, it’s not like you forgot. Valentine’s Day just wasn’t that big of a deal to you. You had never had anyone to share Valentine’s Day with, so the thought of it just simply faded into it being a regular day. You still wanted to get Newt a little gift though, he was your boyfriend after all, and you did love him dearly. You turned back and opened up the chest at the side of your bed to pull out a box draped in white paper and ribbon, and then proceeded to head down to the kitchen.

Today might not have been a huge day to you, but to Newt, it was everything. He was aware that you never had anyone to share it with, and he was quite saddened at the thought. You had told him how your usual Valentine’s Day activities consisted of simply going to work or maybe enjoying some wine by yourself, and Newt understood that this wasn’t a bad thing, but he wanted to do something more for you. Of course you deserved to have special attention and love all the time, but today was different. He had been up for hours putting his plan in action. A wave of emotions swirled within him. Most of it was excitement, some was full of anxiousness and nervous tension, but overall, he was ecstatic to see your reaction. He just hoped you would like it and wouldn’t think it was too extra…

You reached the bottom of the stares and Newt heard your footsteps softly pad across the floor. You were twiddling with the ribbon on your gift, and when you looked up, you were greeted with an unexpected surprise and a smiling Newt.

“Surprise love!” he beamed with a wide grin as he rolled up his sleeves more.

A miraculous scene was laid out on display in front of your eyes. Little paper hearts of pastel shades of pink and lilac fluttered around the room while crimson rose petals danced wildly with them. A few candles flickered across the table tops, allowing a sweet scent of vanilla to mix in with the flowery scent coming from the floral vase in the center of it all. Next to those sat a plate of assorted decorated chocolates and chocolate covered strawberries, ones similar to those from your first date. Glistening lights decorated the interior of the kitchen as well, twinkling ever so softly.

You brought a hand up to your mouth as a tear began to slip from your eye. In all your life, you had never expected something like this. All the effort and love that had been whisked into this had overwhelmed you. You had not expected such an act to come from Newt, and how he managed to keep it all undercover bewildered you.

“N-Newt what, h-how!?”

He strode over and wrapped you in a hug, slightly throwing you off balance. He pecked your lips eagerly and his lips curled into a smile.

“I had to surprise my darling somehow, and there are lots of hiding spaces in the case dear.”

You were still baffled as to how the man had managed to hide all of his supplies with his curious creatures, but you were still too shocked to question him.

“I-I only got you this, now I feel bad,” you trailed off, feeling slightly disappointed in yourself now as you peered down at your gift box. Newt pressed a reassuring kiss to your lips.

“Hush, I wanted to do this for you because you deserve it, especially today. Now come on, I got you a gift too!”

He pulled you gently along to where he had a simple and wrapped gift dressed in silver paper.

“I wanted to do red, but they were all out at the shops, so I got silver instead.”

A laugh escaped your lips, making Newt’s smile grow twice its size. You softly handed him his gift and scanned his expressions for some type of reaction. He began to carefully rip away the paper until he reached a box, and inside he found something that warmed his heart.

He wasn’t expecting a handmade scrapbook of all the adventures you had to be in his hands, yet there it was. The book was bound tightly and each page was decorated with the two of your faces on them. There was the time you were tracking a group of dragons and you had a campout, complete with snuggling by the fire and everything. There was the time where you welcomed Frank, the majestic thunderbird, into his new temporary home in the case. There was even the time where you two had done nothing on a rainy day except snuggle together with warm mugs of tea, and this photo was his favorite because of how beautiful and carefree you appeared. Tears began to form in his eyes, for he knew you must have spent hours working on this. Each photo was paired with captions and keepsakes from those times, and Newt was overwhelmed. His chest swelled with love and gratitude as he looked back at you with an adoring gaze.

“D-Do you like it? Is it enough? I really wanted to-,” you tried to say, but you were cut off by Newt’s lips attacking yours. You put your arms gently around his neck as he picked you up off the ground slightly, his arms snuggly around your waist.

“Y/n this is absolutely remarkable! This is one of the most wonderful things I’ve ever received, no, it is the most wonderful thing!” he beamed as smile mirrored one another. He set you back onto the ground again lightly, and he went to go and handed you your own gift.

He watched you remove the paper and reveal a black and grey (dress/shirt whichever one you like best). You held it up to your chest, as if trying to view how it looked on you.

“Newt, this is gorgeous!”

He grinned and pressed another kiss to your cheek, ‘Not as gorgeous as you are.”

You blushed, “I love you Newt, and thank you, for everything you’ve done today.”

“I love you too,” he whispered, “Now go ahead and put that on, and I’ll show you the rest of your surprise after.”

“Newt.”

“Shh, Y/n I told you I wanted to do this for you,” he paused to kiss your hand tenderly as if you were royalty, “I want to make today special. Now go put your gift on darling.”

You nodded before kissing him and leaving the room, wondering as to what the surprise could be. You closed the door to your shared room and slipped it on over your head, and then you proceeded to touch up your hair. It didn’t take you too long, but you still took a bit longer than usual. With a faint color, you smoothed over your lips, and headed back down, only to be greeted by an empty room.

“Newt?” you called, readjusting your outfit. You wandered to where the display of colors was, yet you did not find him. However, you did notice that the sweets he had gotten you were missing and in their places rested a crinkled note, the kind that appeared as if it had been stuffed inside of a pocket.

You walked over, the heels of your shoes clicking against the surface of the floor and you held the piece of paper in your hands.

Dear Y/n,
I’m in the case, love. You may think this is peculiar, or maybe you think it’s foolish, but well, the rest of the surprise is in the case. I wanted to make the surprise special.
Love,
Newt
P.s, May I suggest going to the bowtruckle tree?

You shook your head and laughed to yourself while your heart swelled from the thoughtfulness. Of course he would go above and beyond and be as extra as he could. You took a few moments to blow out the candles, since Newt had left them burning still and thus your home would burst into flames, before you continued to follow Newt’s note. You still couldn’t understand the man’s thought process, but regardless of how strange he could be, you loved him all the same.

Minutes later you found yourself inside of the case saying greetings to the creatures and heading down to where the bowtruckle tree was. For some reason Newt had wanted you to go there, and although you found it out of the ordinary, you were still touched by his gestures. The atmosphere within the case was just as lively as ever. The air was fresh, like that of a forest in the springtime or a field of flowers in the summer, and all of the creatures chattered and moved about. The grass was cool against your ankles, as the dew had yet to be soaked up. By the time you arrived at the tree, you were stunned once more.

A small picnic rested near the tree and spread out on the grass. The simple setting was lovely in your opinion, as it was not too extravagant, yet it was still stunningly exquisite. The sweets from earlier sat just as poised as before, except now they were also paired with sparkling plates and a few of your other favorite foods as well. Everything was set nicely on the surface of a woven blanket and finished off with a think line of petals.

Your jaw began to drop slightly, and you felt slightly overwhelmed from all of the love and time that Newt had put into everything out there. Every detail in itself was fostered from hours of thought and effort to create the finished product, and you felt nothing short of royalty. In your shocked sense, you still noticed Pickett on the tree, which was highly unusual considering he had a certain attachment to your boyfriend.

You giggled and extended your arm out, allowing the little bowtruckle walk onto you. Pickett always found you a delight, especially since you didn’t mind if he hid in your pocket when Newt wasn’t around or you let him play in your hair too, and was more than happy to join you.

“Hello Pickett, how are you doing today?” you asked, only to be answered by little noises and chirps. However, from the tone, you assumed he was doing quite well. You smiled back down at the leafy little creature, until he started tapping you. You instantly felt concerned since you thought that you had misjudged him and something really was wrong, however, that didn’t seem to be the case. His tapping only seemed giddy, as if something exciting was happening in his mind. Pickett saw that you weren’t understanding his frenzy, so he used his little arms to gesture in a direction. Furrowing your eyebrows in a bit of confusion, you spoke to him again.

“Pickett I don’t understand what are you pointing at, I-,”

You turned slightly in the direction of where Pickett was flailing, and you had to do everything to keep from dropping him in shock and a river of tears.

Pickett wasn’t pointing at a direction. He was pointing at Newt, who was now currently in front of you, down on one knee, nervously shaking, and with a black velvet box caressed tightly in his hand.

You stared at him with shock, confusion, and excitement flooding and pooling within your pupils. Your heart was racing at lightning speed and words got caught in your throat as if you were choking. Newt noticed your shocked expression and formation of tears as he began to speak.

“Y-Y/n Y/l/n, in my eyes, you have always been the most beautiful, intelligent, kind-hearted, gorgeous, considerate, and passionate person to ever exist. Since the day I first asked you to dinner, I knew that you were unique and sweet and everything that anyone could ever hope to find in someone. As the dates and dinners and adventures continued, I found myself falling more and more in love with you. There was simply something about you that kept drawing me into you. I have never met anyone who has ever even come close in comparison to you. You accept my profession and all the chaos it brings about, you accept my beasts, but most of all though, you love and accept me for who I am and I don’t have to pretend to be someone I’m not. Y/n, love, what I’m trying to say past all of my rambling is that I love you, I truly and honestly do with every ounce of my heart and with every beat it makes. You’ve been the most important person in my life. You steal my breath like you stole my heart all those years ago and Y/n, I-I want to ask if I, if I can make you a part of my life, forever. I love you Y/n Y/l/n, and will you make me the happiest man alive, will you marry me?”

He anxiously awaited for some type of reaction from you, and he only hoped it was positive. He knew that you loved him, but he was still incredibly nervous, who wouldn’t be? He saw tears roll down your cheeks and he began to fear the worst, thinking you were scared or nervous or upset with him for asking such an absurd question. His heart began to slowly be dragged down in his chest by his anxiety, but it resurfaced once you began to stutter words out.

“Y-yes, of course I will Newt! I j-just can’t believe this is happening,” you said with your hands still shaking slightly and with Pickett still comfortably standing on you. Newt’s worries washed away as he stood up to kiss you.

His hand swept up to brush away the stranded tears on your cheek. Delicately, his lips took yours into a deep and passionate kiss. They molded together like melted chocolate and you felt him tug slightly on your bottom lip. Your arms wrapped around him and wove through his curls effortlessly. He smelt of cinnamon and soil, and he tasted like sweet mint on a winter night. Everything was simply and utterly perfect. He broke the slightly the whisper a flurry of ‘I love yous’ to which you replied back the same. Peppering your face between giggling, he slipped the ring onto your finger with ease. It was clearly crafted to fit you perfectly. His thumb rubbed over the shimmering gem and band, and you watched it sparkle in the light. Looking into his eyes you noticed the same sparkle, a flickering glimmer of passion and love.

You had never expected in all of your life to experience a Valentine’s Day such as this one, and you never expected a moment like this. The world could stop turning and all of the clocks in the world could stop ticking and you wouldn’t care.

You pulled him in closer to you, eagerly kissing his lips again. You felt his grin stretch through it and a wet drop slip down his own cheek. He finally had the most amazing person in the world as his fiancée, and he was beyond euphoric.

The kiss between you two broke as it was interrupted by Pickett who was trying to communicate. You allowed him to climb onto your finger as you raised your hand to eye level.

“You were his little helper weren’t you?” you asked the bowtruckle, which led to a happy response.

Newt kissed your forehead again before saying, “Well I needed a little help in setting your special day love. I couldn’t have you walking in before everything was ready.”

You held his hand in yours, “You’re the most remarkable man I’ve ever met.”

“Well you’re the most remarkable and beautiful and special person, Y/n. I’ll always love you, and I can’t wait to spend every day with you as my (wife/husband).”

“I love you too Newt, so much that it hurts sometimes, and I’ll always be by your side.”

You kissed his cheek, allowing a gentle blush to creep over his face. Your heart was over the moon in joy and radiating love to the point where it was suffocating, but you wouldn’t have it any other way. Newt tugged your hand over to the beautiful placement of the picnic, ecstatic to enjoy a Valentine’s Day brunch with the love of his life, fiancée, and soon to be (wife/husband).

How Whiskey Feels (Tony x reader)

A/N: Incase you are wondering I really love Whiskey and science so I actually had to remind myself to dial it back during editing.

Warnings: alcohol consumption, jealousy, pining

Tony watched as you practically danced into Steve’s arms upon entering the tower. Steve’s face shined back with the same intensity of hers as he hugged her tightly. This made him think back to that first night he saw you. It was one of his parties. You were a new scientist Bruce had chosen and he had only seen your photo. The way you looked in person with that dress was infinitely better. He wanted your attention desperately, but decided to let you approach him. He thought his wish was coming true when you began to cross the large room. Then the catastrophic happened. You tripped and tumbled right into Steve’s arms. Tony watched in horror as you two laughed and his hands lingered on your hips when he righted you. Tony knew in that moment he had made a mistake. Something he would continue to do as he went for another whiskey instead of walking over to introduce himself. He couldn’t have known in that moment just how much he would grow to care for you, but there was a sinking feeling in his stomach he might have a crush already. That was only based on your CV let alone when he finally talked to you the next day.

You were definitely clumsy even out of heels as you knocked over a beaker immediately when you went to bring your hand up to introduce yourself. He tried his usual snarky flirting and you laughed so hard you snorted. You didn’t even think he was serious and you had heard he did this to everyone, so you were merely flattered and amused. You worked closely with Banner meaning Tony made it a point to hang out with his friend even more. It wasn’t long before he was completely charmed by the way your face scrunched as you thought through an experiment or how you gently touched his arm or chest when you laughed hard from his snarky comments. Of course his flirting began to earn him eye rolls along with the small snorts as you two adjusted to working together. He would have assumed you were into him if it wasn’t for the way you touched Cap. After work Steve would rescue you from working too late. Tony walked in a few times on the two of you laying on the couch sharing a blanket while watching a movie or doing something stupidly cute like dabbing Steve with cupcake frosting while baking. What killed Tony most was the way when Steve made you laugh hard your whole body fell against him. Steve would laugh just as hard holding you up. He tried to avoid you two together, but it was difficult when he always wanted to be around you. He was so lost in his thoughts he didn’t realize he was frowning right at you in this moment. Steve was cooking and you were pretending to help while stealing bites. You noticed though and came over to the side of the room he was sitting. You gently nudged him with your shoulder as you sat next to him.

“What’s wrong, Tony?” You gave him a small smile. His brown eyes snapped out of their haze as they met yours. There was a burning or more accurately a yearning there in his eyes, but he only returned the same small smile.

“Nothing, Y/N. Just not the best whiskey. You know you pay so much for the stuff and when it’s not quite as good…” He trailed off as she grabbed the drink from him. She took a small sip and a smile played across her lips.

“I don’t drink a lot, but it seems alright to me.” He couldn’t help but smirk at the shyness in her voice. His eyes betrayed him too as they trailed down to her lips still lingering near the glass.

“What do you taste?”

“Oh I don’t rate whiskey on taste. I rate it on how the burn feels as it travels down my throat. It should be fiery yet smooth. You should feel excited not scorched. That’s why all the best writers love whiskey. It’s like liquid passion.” You mused swirling the liquid by gently shaking the glass. He wanted to be pulled in by your words, but he could feel Steve looking over to them from the island. You handed the whiskey back to him and your fingers brushed each other. Blush crept on your face and he started to feel jealous of Steve.

“What’s your boyfriend cooking?” He said a little more spiteful then he meant. You only returned a confused look.

“You think I’m dating Steve?”

“You’re not?” He returned your confused look.

“I-“ You stammered. Your brow furrowed and you looked down like when a substrate reaction was taking longer than expected. “We are just friends.” You said evenly and stood up. You walked over to Steve and excused yourself. Tony sat there dumbfounded on the brink of making another colossal mistake if he didn’t act soon. Thankfully Steve noticed this time.

“Did you say something to Y/N?” Steve asked as he approached. It was rather accusatory.

“I just asked if you two were dating.” Tony threw his hands up in defense still puzzled by what your response meant.

“What would make you think that?” Steve searched Tony’s face and then let out a sigh when Tony said nothing. “We are just friends, Tony. She likes someone else. Someone she works with.” The words hung in the air. Without knowing what he would do he began to walk briskly after you. The elevator was almost down to the first floor meaning you were leaving the tower. He turned around for the roof door instead and called a suit. Quickly flying down to the ground he cut you off just as you were exiting the tower.

“Tony!” You jumped back several steps in surprise. He stepped from the suit and to you quickly. You studied how close he stood to you and the way his muscles tensed under his shirt before looking up into his deep and pleading eyes.

“Please tell me you don’t like Banner.”

“What!” You scoffed, but before you could protest further he slammed you to his chest and his lips eagerly pulled at yours. Your hands landed against his tight chest feeling the edge of the arc reactor in your hand. You mindlessly traced it and worked down his chest as you melted into the kiss. Tony felt smooth fire burn in him at every touch of you as you lost yourselves in the middle on the sidewalk. Months of wanting you and being an idiot all added up to this moment. Breathlessly you pulled away and leaned against his shoulder while you tried to even out your heart beat. “You feel like whiskey.” You whispered softly into his neck. That was all he needed to hear as he swung you into his arms. You giggled as he carried you back into the building.

heyyyy thanks for the request! ALIE totally saw through their shit. I dont know if the logistics of the following story quite work out, but I hope I did this justice, anon <3

At the beginning Clarke does not recognize the cabin in front of her. In the middle of the woods, in a clearing splashed with sunlight, something is off—the green is too bright, the air is too still. She thinks she should be worried – perturbed, at the least – but those feelings aren’t easy to recall. They don’t seem to exist here.

Then it happens—an overwhelming feeling that she is not alone. Clarke turns her head and sees a woman in a red dress, staring at her unflinchingly.

All Clarke can say is, “Where am I?”

“This is a reconstruction of one human’s greatest desire.”

Clarke swallows. A reconstruction. This is not real. She asks, “Whose?”

The woman says, “Bellamy Blake.”

Clarke faintly thinks she should scream. Punch, fight, bite. But a surge of apathy holds her back. Or maybe it’s the house, resting in such tranquil ahead of her. When Clarke turns to look back at the woman, she is gone.

Without much of her own input, Clarke’s feet begin taking her towards the cabin. This cabin – quaint, wooden, and not larger than any family unit Clarke has seen – is Bellamy’s greatest desire. The blunt lack of excess makes Clarke almost want to laugh. Of course. What else did she expect from Bellamy Blake?

The house inside is furnished with few things: chairs, lamps, a few tables. The windows reveal a view of the woods, the hint of more settlements nearby—but the image is too bright, too blurry. This is a reconstruction.

The room Clarke has walked into holds a bookcase that spans an entire wall. The books are all bound in leather and engraved in gold. She recognizes a few titles – The Odyssey, Macbeth, Metamorphoses, A Tale of Two Cities. Clarke knows she has seen them on the Ark, she may have even read them. Right now, however, she remembers nothing of their content.

When Clarke lifts her head, she sees stars. With a start, she realizes they are paintings. The canvases span the ceiling, white flecks speckled on top of deep cobalt; she recognizes constellations, all the many stars comprising Cassiopeia, Aquila, Leo, Orion. She allows her eyes to slowly travel down the ceiling, scrutinizing each of the paintings. They come to a stop when she sees the furniture. Laid to dry on top of several surfaces are more paintings; these are vivid and bright, depicting violet butterflies and peach-coloured flowers, garlands of berries and the red of a sunset.

Clarke can’t draw her eyes away from the paintings. They are beautiful, no doubt. Yet there is something uncanny about each of them, an eerie awareness that makes her chest clench.

And, amongst the strange, intricate paintings are smaller ones, colours smeared together by an amateur hand. She wants to look longer, but a feeling returns full force—the absolute certainty that she is not alone.

When Clarke turns her head, there is no woman in red to greet her. Instead, a peal of laughter cuts through the stillness. Clarke freezes. It is coming from the door next to the bookcase.

Without thinking, Clarke begins to walk, pushing through the wooden entrance.

A boy and a girl with curls more golden than sunlight are sprawled on the floor. The children, with fingers stained in orange and blue, are painting. There are lines and shapes etched into all parts of the tapestry underneath them, and Clarke can’t stop staring.

She isn’t able to feel fear, and she can’t feel sadness. But the sight of the paint-smudged children in a room full of sunlight makes her knees buckle. She catches herself on the edge of the door—the movement catches the children’s attention, and their laughter drops. The two simultaneously flip their heads to stare at her.

For a long beat, there are no words. Then the children smile. They say, “Mama!”

Mama. The world begins to spin, a nauseating frenzy of colors consuming Clarke. She closes her eyes, trying to breathe, trying to make sense past the blood pounding in her ears.

When she opens her eyes, her hands are tied, her throat is raw. The children are gone; in their place is a boy slumped on the ground, a red line marking his throat.

The fear is back, returning to Clarke in crippling, amplified force. Clarke looks at the blood staining Bellamy Blake and she screams. She screams and she screams.

“Give us the passphrase, Clarke,” a voice which once belonged to her mother says, “and you can give Bellamy the future of his greatest desire.”

The fear is back, and along with it, the sadness. Clarke lowers her head, her throat and eyes both stinging.  She thinks of the cabin with the stars and the paint-stained children, and she says, “I can’t.”

You?! (Rafe Adler)

Here you go! :) Hopefully this story justified your request! This might turn into a series… Who’s up for it?

- - - - -

The dark sky seems to be shining bright tonight with the cool breeze brushing against my arm and the ocean crashing softly on the shore beside us.

Rafe’s smile makes this night perfect as he reaches to hold my hand. “Happy one year, darling.” He speaks softly as if the other guests are listening.

“Happy one year.”

We toast our champagne, taking a nice sip.

“One year, huh…” I say, putting down the champagne. “Feels like we’ve known each other our entire life!”

He chuckles, sitting forward to hold my hand again. “Maybe we did in another life.”

I laugh, “You believe in that?” Even through the dimness, his smirk is easy to see. He looks away towards the sea and takes a breath, like whatever he’s going to say might be life changing.

“No, but what I do believe…” He raises up from his seat and walks towards my side, kneeling down on the sand. My eyes widen and I feel my heart flutter. “Is that since the moment I first saw you in that party, I already knew that I would spend a lifetime with you…” He takes out a small box from his pocket and opens it to reveal a sparkling diamond ring. “You are the only person that I’ve felt this strong with and you have dealt with my arrogance for this long; you’ve tolerated my anger and you still love me enough to bring me back into your life again…”

My eyes starts to tear up and I feel my gut churning in my stomach, waiting to hear that well-known line.

He takes another breath, staring into my eyes. “Will you marry me?”

I try to control the tears, but the moment I nod my head for a ‘yes’, he takes me into his arms and they start to fall down my cheeks. Rafe slides the ring on my finger and once I feel the cold metal of the ring, I can’t help but smile.

The people around us cheers and claps, toasting us in our celebration. Rafe places his hand on my waist and takes me in on a kiss.

Everything about this night is perfect.

- - - - -

Work. Always with his God damn work. What’s so secretive about it that I can’t even know about? I twist the engagement ring on my finger, biting my lower lip as I stare idly on the coffee table. I’m his fiancée for Christ’s sake!

My phone vibrates on the coffee table, bringing me out of my thoughts.

“Hey, Rafe.” I try to keep my voice calm, even though I want to yell at him. He’s only been gone for a week, he’ll be back. I keep reassuring myself.

“Hello, darling,” after hearing his voice, I’m starting to cool down. I curse myself for being soft on him. “I won’t be home for a while, but I’ll be back right in time for our wedding.”

I take a deep breath, “Okay…” I hear the sound of construction in the background with people yelling in Scottish accents. “This work seems big with all that noise…”

“Yeah,” I hear him sigh on the other end. “Listen, we’re about to fly off to Italy in a few hours.”

We?

“I’ll call you later.” Before the call ends, I hear a woman say his name and then a beep. I place my phone down beside me. Did he just say we? Who would the other be?

I feel my face start to burn up and I shake my head, taking a sip of my coffee.

Probably a team. I should stop overthinking…

My phone vibrates again beside me and I check to see an unknown caller.

“Hello…?” I answer.

“Hey, kid,” a familiar gruff voice replies and my whole body freezes, but my smile widens as I’m starting to feel like I’m eighteen again.

“Got time for another hunt?”

“Oh my God! Sullivan?!” I laugh in disbelief, jumping up from the couch. “Of course! Where are we headed?”

He chuckles. “Pack your bags and I’ll explain along the way. See you in the airport.”

Just as the call ends, I rush to our bedroom and pack my bags.
As I walk back and forth from the dresser and closet, a nagging thought stops me halfway and I place my hands on my hips, giving out a sigh. What about Rafe?

I look at our bedside table, a picture frame with us in it and then to the engagement ring on my finger, the diamond sparkling from the sun shining in through the window.

Fuck it. If he can leave, then so can I.

Within seconds, I’ve packed all my necessities.

Leaving my ring behind.

- - - - -

“You didn’t tell me we were going to some fancy place!” I softly yell at Sullivan while we enter the Rossi Estate.

“Well, at least we got you a dress.” He says, walking up the stairs.
I place my arm around his, pulling up the skirt of my dress as we walk. This whole time I’ve been hoping that I won’t bump into Rafe, looking everywhere for the sight of him and rehearsing excuses in my head in case we do see each other.

Then again, he didn’t exactly say which part of Italy… But seeing that he’s busy, he won’t even have time to go to an auction.
Entering the building, someone with a white suit catches my attention and I glance to see…

Rafe…?

Talking to another woman and smiling each other.

I blink my eyes and keep staring to make sure I’m not hallucinating.

“Ow! Hey, is everything alright?” Victor asks me and I loosen my grip on his arm.

“Sorry, I thought I saw… Someone…” I avert my eyes from them and we walk up to the library.

Victor sits on the couch, taking out a cigar and a lighter. I walk to one of the books, seeing some old classics that I read from when I was sixteen or so.

“So, how are things with you, kid?” I turn around and see him puffing on his cigar, lounging on the couch with his feet up on the table. “Maybe I shouldn’t call you kid. You’re not eighteen anymore.”

I laugh lightly at the statement, walking towards him and sitting on the chair next to him. “When we said our goodbyes in Honduras, I meant what I said… That’s the last time I’m going to work as a treasure hunter…”

He rubs his chin. “So, you’ve got your dream…”

I nod my head and I reach to twist the ring on my finger again, only to find it empty. I half regret that I left it home. Now I wish that I brought something to remind me of Rafe…

I think back to the man in the suit… Maybe that’s not him… Maybe I thought it was him and it’s just the getting married effect… I’d rather not think this far ahead. I curse my brain again for overthinking.

“I’m proud of you, kid.” Sully says, taking me out of my thoughts. I look at him as he smiles at me and I smile, forgetting about everything as I’m almost tearing up from the memories flashing back.

“Thanks, old man.”

He chuckles lightly, “I hate to admit it. It’s nice hearing that name again.”

Fifteen minutes must have passed until we hear a thud out the window and whispers before a figure comes in followed by another. I can already tell that it’s Nate walking by, but I can’t clearly make out who the other one is.

“Sully?”

As Victor turns on the lamp, Nate’s face brightens up as they hug each other. I can’t help but smile and feeling my heart be touched at this moment. As they break away, he sees me and I can’t help but say it: “Hey, asswipe.” I greet him with a smirk.

“C’mon. We haven’t seen each other in fifteen years and that’s what you call me?” He laughs and opens his arms. “C’mere, shortie.”

We hug and I really miss the embrace of an older-brother-figure.

“I miss this trio.” Nate says as we break away and as we look to Sully, he has already been introduced to the other guy.

“This is my brother. Sam.”

I raise an eyebrow, looking from one to the other to see no resemblance. “You’re joking.” I scoff.

“No, he’s not.” Sam says, clearing his throat. “But we can both agree that I’m the more attractive one.” Nate slaps his shoulder as Sam lends out a hand for me to shake, “Nice to meet such a fine lady in this occasion.”

I cross my arms. “Is that what you say to all the girls?”

“Trust me, you’re the first one.”

This guy is way up his ass. I take his hand, but get quickly interrupted. “No more time to chit-chat. We need to take this cross before Rafe does.” Nate says, swiftly walking towards the door.

Wait… Rafe?

We follow Nate downstairs, back to the auction and the three of them exchange plans; all I’m thinking about is how Rafe is put into this situation. He said he’s at work… Is this his work..? Are we still talking about the same Rafe?

As we’ve reached the second floor, I look beyond the railing to the ground floor, searching for that same guy in the white suit, making sure that it’s not Rafe. It took me a second until I see the back of the guy, waiting until he turns around and when he does, that’s when I feel my gut sink. It is him.

It is Rafe…

He looks up at me and I turn away, looking back at the three of them.

“Shit…” I say under my breath. I bite my lower lip and I look back to see him gone. My eyes roam around the room, but see no trace of
him.

“You alright?” Sam says with his eyebrows raised. “You look like you’ve seen a ghost…”

Something like that…

“I’m… Fine…” I take a deep breath and I feel my phone vibrate in my purse. It’s a message from an unknown number.

I know you’re here.

Fuck.

Part 2

Reunion
Levi X reader

*flash back*

We ran through the crumbling, dirty streets of the underground. Trying to get away from the man chasing us, all because we stole a little food. His threats could be heard, echoing off the walls of old buildings and sketchy allies. None of these threats caused us to stop running though. We speed through intersections and dashed around corners as if we were in a chariot race, begging ourselves not to lose balance as we quickly flung around the sharp turns.
Eventually, we lost the man chasing us after ducking into a doorway of our building which only contained ourselves and two others. The four of us were of no relation, but this didn’t mean we were not a family. I leaned against the wall trying to catch my breath as I watched and heard the man continue on past our home. Once he was gone, I caught a fit of giggles. My short, black haired, grey eyed, stoic faced, “brother”, Levi, glared at me.
“Tch. Of course you would laugh,” He said.
“What’s that supposed to mean?” I replied continuing to giggle.
“It means that this is not a laughing magtter.”
“What? Of course it is. We stole from his cart and got away because he was to old and slow.”
“(Y/n), this is serious. Everyone in the underground is battling to survive. We are at the bottom of this food chain, don’t you ever forget that.” Levi then stalked off to the stairs which he climbed to get to our living quarters.
“Such a party pooper,” I mumbled as I followed him up. How had I fallen for this man? Sure I considered him a brother, but not an actual brother. It wasn’t like we were blood related.
We reached the door and Levi gave the secret knock to let Farlan and Isabel know it was us. It was Isabel who ended up opening the door for us. Her brown hair was pulled up and her forest green eyes were as bright as ever.
“You’re back! What did you get us to eat?” She asked. She was the youngest out of all of us. I was the next youngest, then Farlan. This left Levi as the oldest out of us all.
“Well, Isabel, we have apples, oranges, and a fresh loaf of bread,” I exclaimed as the girl became excited.
“A fresh loaf of bread!? How did you guys get your hands on that?”
“We were sneaky and made sure no one was looking.”
“Nice, I’m sure Farlan will be excited to hear this.”
“Where is Farlan?” Levi asked.
“Here. I was just taking a nap. I hear we have a fresh loaf of bread,” Farlan said as he stretched his tired muscles.
“Yes we sure do!” I replied.
“Great.”
*end of flash back*
I ran through the packed streets as I remembered my happy, small, family from years ago. The memory brought up from the current situation I was in. Running from not a single man this time, but a group of men and women. This group was known as the survey corps. Now, usually, this group only goes outside of the walls to fight Titans, but since I was dumb enough to try to steal in front of them, they were now chasing me. Where had my skills gone? This did not matter though because I was going to escape. I always did.
I speed through ally ways and flung myself around corners as I tried to escape the group. Eventually, I was able to get away when I turned a corner and ran into an open doorway. I leaned against the wall and tried to catch my breath as I heard the group continue on their search. Once I thought I heard them all pass, I put my hood up and left the building, making my way back to the underground. That was until a figure landed in front of me. I looked up and gasped in shock as I looked at the man in front of me. He was the same ornery looking guy he was when I knew him, but something had changed. His eyes looked darker as if he had been through a lot in the past ten years. As quickly as he landed I sped off, he didn’t need me making a mess out of this better life of his.
Levi began chasing after me and after awhile I lost him, or thought I lost him. As soon as I turned a corner to regain my breath, he flew right in front of me. Levi had gotten better at using the 3dm gear.
“Stop. There is no chance of you fucking escaping,” he said in a monotone voice. Funny how some things didn’t change.
“Why should I stop running Levi, that’s all I have ever done. Steal something and run,” I replied as I took off my hood. For a second I could have sworn I saw a glimpse of surprise in those stoic eyes, but as soon as it had appeared it had vanished.
“(Y/n). Should have known it was you. You’re the only one out of group who would have been stupid enough to try to steal in front of a group of survey courps.”
“Ouch. Still as harsh and mean as ever. Makes me happy to know you stayed the same the ten years you’ve been gone.” Once again it seemed his eyes flashed emotion, this time hurt, but I was probably seeing things.
“You haven’t changed much either, have you?”
“Nope. Same old wacky girl who likes to take chances.”
“I see that.”
“So, how has the whole fam been the past ten years. You know after you left me behind and all,” I said, my glare focused of the short man.
“Well, where to start. Farlan and Isabel are dead, have been for awhile now. Otherwise the "fam” is still intact.“ The instant I heard those words leave his mouth, I could feel my heart break. That couldn’t be true, he was probably just trying to hurt me to get back at my other comments.
"That’s a lie Levi.”
“It’s not…no matter how much I wish it was.” This time I knew I wasn’t seeing things, Levi’s eyes watered a bit as his voice softened.
“No,” was all I could say before falling to my knees as tears fell from my face. Sure I was pissed that the three of them left me, but they were still my one and only family. I would have never wanted them to die.
I didn’t even realize Levi had come closer to me. This was a factor as to why I jumped when he put a hand on my shoulder. I looked up at him to see he was looking right back at me, his eyes watering but not a single tear shed. Soon the rest of the squad showed up, Levi now only standing behind me.
“Nice job, Levi. Now we can take her to the military police,” a tall man with blond hair and caterpillars for eyebrows said. My eyes widened as I thought of what was going to happen to me. I mean I knew, I was going to be most likely executed, but my mind didn’t want to just stop there. All of these terrible punishments passed through my mind until I heard Levi speak.
“No. She can be made into a new member of the survey legion. She has the speed, agility, and stealth that any new scout would need when facing Titans. Why waste this opportunity, we are low on recruits right now.” I glanced up in shock as I heard what could be my punishment.
“We do need more recruits and she does have some good qualities. If your willing to train and watch her, then I guess we don’t need to get the military police involved in this,” caterpillar eyebrows answered.
“I can take care of this brat with no problem,” Levi replied.
“Alright,” big eyebrows then looked down at me, “Welcome to the survey corps.” The man then walked off, followed by the other confused members of the group. All of them unsure of what had just happened.
“Get up brat,” Levi commanded me. I stood but swiftly turned to face him.
“What the hell was that!? Sentencing me to my own death?” I yelled.
“I didn’t sentence you to your fucking death brat. If anything I gave you the chance to live.”
“Really? The first instant we go outside of those walls I am going to be a Titans meal and you damn well know it.”
“Maybe you will, but at least I gave you an option to fucking live where as if you had gone to the damn military police you would have been executed because you stole a fucking loaf of bread in front of a big ass group of survey corps members.” Levi then stormed off, following the group he had come with. “Come on.” He said. I followed his command as I thought of what he had said. He wasn’t really wrong, if he hadn’t given me this chance I would have been killed. At least with this option I could possibly survive if I was lucky. It still gave me a chance.

*time skip*

A week had passed and I was already exhausted from all the training Levi was forcing me to do. Everyday single day I had to get up early to run. Then we would go back to eat breakfast. Next was training to fight which we did until lunch. After we ate we would go out to work with the 3dm gear which I found I was good at, considering I had used it a little bit in the underground, and then dinner. Then it was back out for more fighting. By the time we would end it would be dark and I would be too exhausted to even shower. Let’s just say it wasn’t a fun experience, I almost wished that I had been taken to the military police instead of here.
I woke up once more to get ready for the first activity of the day. Running. I dressed, brushed my teeth, put my hair up in a ponytail, put deodorant on and left to go outside to meet Levi in our usual spot, the front door of the survey corps headquarters. I walked out the door to see Levi leaning against the wall waiting for me like usual.
“Morning Levi,” I yawned.
“Morning brat,” was all he said before starting up our run. I groaned as I caught up to him.
“So how much longer do I have to keep doing this? It is literally killing me. I am getting to the point where I am too tired to even walk.”
“We will keep this up until I think you’re ready.”
“How close am I to being ready?”
“Not even.”
“Are you kidding me right now? I am able to keep up with you now when we run laps, I can fight almost as well as you now, and I can basically beat you at using the 3dm gear. I think I am pretty close to being ready.”
“Just because you are getting better does not mean you are ready. You need to be able to think ahead when ever you fight. A Titan is not going to give you a heads up when it is coming up to attack you or try to grab you. Same thing with the 3dm gear. You need to feel like you are a part of the machine so that way you can focus less on your movements and more on what you need to do to take a Titan down. You think you can kill a Titan with knowledge of how to fight and use our gear? Well your wrong because there is a lot more to it than just that.” I watched him as he spoke, realizing that he was right. If I had any chance of surviving I would have to do better than just train, I’d have to flow.
“Alright, I understand, but is there anyway I can take a day off or something just so I can refresh and reenergize?”
“Maybe one day, brat. Depends on how you do today I guess.”
“Deal.” It was quiet for the run after that, neither of us speaking. Once we finished I went to my room and changed into the uniforms we had to wear. I then went down to the food hall to get breakfast. The instant I walked through the door and into the hall, I rushed to the food and grabbed as much as I was aloud and walked to the table I had to sit at. That’s right, Levi’s table. It didn’t really bother me, but I wouldn’t have minded if I had some freedom.
I placed my food down and began scooping it in, my hunger bringing me past the point of trying to eat like a normal human. I had gotten used to being fed constantly, but with all the training I was doing it made me even hungrier. I was eating away when I heard the tch noise Levi always makes. I chewed, swallowed, and looked up at Levi.
“What?” I asked.
“Do you really have to eat like you’re a Titan?” He answered with his own question.
“Yes I do. First of all, I had never been given, a definite, three meals a day most of my life, and second, all of this training is making me even more hungry.”
“Doesn’t give you the right to eat like that though.”
“If you don’t like how I eat then move. If not then get used to it.” I then began scooping the food back into my mouth as Levi sat down beside me, giving up in his attempt to make me look normal. I soon finished my meal and left to start fighting. Soon lunch passed and it was time to practice with the 3dm gear, which was becoming my favorite part of the day.
We walked over to the tall trees that we would be using to train on. I smiled up as we finally reached the thick forest.
“Want to have a match levi?” I asked trying to make this more interesting.
“Why?” He replied.
“Make this entertaining. I mean it already is fun, but to make it just a bit more fun than usual.”
“I guess.”
“Yes!” I jumped up and down. The feeling of being a kid again passed through my head as I did this. Levi glaring at me for being silly as I danced, laughed, or jumped at anything that excited me. To bad the past was the past. “Alright ready short stuff?”
“What did you call me brat.”
“Oh, you heard me,” I said as I shot the 3dm gear wires into a tree causing me to speed through the air. I continued shooting the wires and flinging though the air as I tried to find the first wooden Titan I would take down. An opening appeared through the trees, a Titan dummy standing in the middle of it. I sped to it. Right before I could cut into its wooden neck, Levi flung in front of me and took it out.
“Damn it,” I cursed as I continued on.
By the end of it Levi won, no shocker there really.
“Damn it Levi. I thought I had you,” I said as I landed beside him in front of the forest which we had entered.
“Told you you weren’t ready yet.” Was all he said before walking back to the headquarters.
“I’m getting there though.”
“Sure.” As we walked I began thinking of how we used to be when our family lived together in the underground. Levi the leader with Farlan as his second in command. Me and Isabel were just there because they were willing to take us in. I remembered how in love I had been with Levi, my feelings hidden for good reasons. The memories passed through my thoughts and I couldn’t help but laugh.
“(Y/n), are you okay?” Levi asked seeming bothered by my outburst.
“I’m remembering the time when we first got the 3dm gear and tried it out. How Isabel was so excited to try it, and how when she did she flew into the cardboard boxes in the alley.” I looked at Levi to see a slight smirk on his usual stoic face. This caused my heart to race as I thought of how I caused that rare smirk to appear. Seems like those feelings had never left.
“I remember that. I also remember how when you tried it out you didn’t have any better fucking luck. You ran into the wall. I remember how scared I was when I saw you just laying on the ground, silent for once in your life. Then when I ran to your side to check on you you began laughing uncontrollably.”
“Wait, go back for a second. You were worried about me? That’s a first,” I chuckled.
“Believe me. I may not seem like I have emotions, but I do, and that moment terrified me. I though we might have lost you.”
“Wow Levi, I didn’t know your were that worried about me that day.”
“I worried a lot about you. You were the one to always do stupid shit that would either get you in trouble or injured and it seems this never changed.”
“Well, I’m glad I could cause the heartless man to worry. And you’re damn straight I didn’t change. Then you would have never found me stealing.”
“I do have a heart you shit. I just don’t express it.”
“This is noted,” I said. The rest of the way to headquarters was quite and so was the rest of the day. When I got in my room I took a quick shower and then went straight to bed. The pillows and blankets soft underneath me, dragging me into a deep slumber.
*time skip*

I woke to the sun shining on my face, which caused me to start getting ready for the day. I began to think over the past month as I began getting ready. Things between Levi and I had changed. We were close again just like we had many years ago. Also with in this past month my feelings for the sour faced man had strengthened no matter how much I tried to avoid it.
“Perfect,” I spoke to myself in the mirror. “Fall in love with your childhood crush who could possibly die right I front of you. Just perfect.” I finished my morning routine and went to open my door to see Levi standing in front of it. This was new.
“Levi, why are you at my door?” I asked.
“I needed to tell you that there will be no training today.”
“So, I finally get a free day. This is a first. What’s the special occasion short fry.” Now, usually, anyone who made fun of Levi would be severely punished, but not me. At least not anymore, he gave up trying after a week when he realized it wasn’t going to stop. So, instead he took a deep breath before replying.
“Tomorrow we go outside the wall to try to take back some of our territory.” This answer instantly shot down my excitement. The only reason for this day off was so we could prepare for tomorrow.
“Oh. I see. So…what do I need to do?”
“All you’ll do today is prepare your horse and outfit for tomorrow. Otherwise you are free.”
“What do you do.”
“Same thing, but I will also help Erwin make plans for tomorrow.”
“Sounds fun,” I said trying to lighten the gloomy atmosphere.
“Relax (y/n). Spend time with the others, enjoy today. You deserve this.” I lost it when I heard him say this.
“I deserve this? I’m only getting this day off because I might not make it back tomorrow. What is this? Is it supposed to be a "make your possible last day of life the best you can.” “
"You’re right,” that’s all he said before turning around and walking away. I wanted to chase after him, what reason, I don’t know. All I knew was that I wanted to spend this possible last day with him, but that was never going to happen.
I shut my door, went to my bed, and plopped down on it. Thoughts of what could happen tomorrow flowing through my head. A Titan picking me up and eating me flashed through my thoughts as I began to shake in fear. I knew this day was coming, I just thought I would have been mentally prepared, but I wasn’t.
When I regained my composure I walked out of my room and to the mess hall for breakfast. I grabbed my food and went to the table I had been sitting at for the past month. As I walked towards it I began focusing in on every face I passed. Engraving each one into my mind so that way if I survived I would know that those who didn’t would never be forgotten. At least not by me.
I arrived at my table and sat. Petra, Eld, Gunther, and Oluo only watched as I quietly sat. Nothing was said for awhile, they weren’t sure what to say and I just stared at my food trying to process what was going to happen. Finally the silence ended when Petra decided to speak.
“So, (y/n), you ready for tomorrow?” I looked up at her slowly, all emotion wiped from my face and voice.
“No.”
“Don’t worry, that’s what all new recruits say the day before their first mission.” She smiled at me as if that would change how I would felt.
“That’s understandable considering that they just might not make it back.” My comment caused her smile to dim a bit before lighting back up.
“This is true, but let me tell you a secret. If you dwell on this fact, you will not only sadden yourself, but also get yourself killed. You must accept your possible fate and live like you normally would, otherwise this life can become a lot harder for you. Will you do this for me?” I didn’t answer for a while as I thought about it. Maybe she was right. I mean it must work for her, she’s always chipper.
“Sure, I’ll try my best,” I answered, a small smile adjourning my face.
“Good.” This was when Levi joined the table with his morning tea. He sat beside me.
“You feeling less defensive now?” He asked.
“Yes. I was just in shock, that’s all.”
“Kinda figured.” I began to finally eat, my food now cold but still good. I was half way through my meal when Levi began explaining everything to us.
“(L/n), you will be joining my squad.”
“Are you serious!? I’m not that good, I’ll get you guys killed.”
“You will not. You’ll be perfectly fine.”
“We have your back (y/n),” Petra added.
“Thank you,” I replied. Levi then began explaining further what tomorrow would be like. When he finished he left leaving the rest of us at the table. Eventually we all left to prepare for the next day. I got my horse and outfit ready like I was told, and then spent the rest of the day with my squad.
*time skip*
I rushed around the room getting ready for the mission. I grabbed what I needed and rushed to the hall to get breakfast. After we ate I was stopped by Levi.
“Listen to me. Don’t you fucking get killed out there you understand me?”
“I understand Levi.” I replied
“Good, now go catch up with the others brat.” I left like I was told and followed everyone to the stables to get our horses so we could begin our journey to the exit of the wall. The ride there seemed like ages, time slowly passing. The whole time I tried to hide my shaking, but failed. Petra, the only one to notice, would smile at me trying to comfort me. I’d smile back and then go back to shaking. I looked at Levi to see him staring at me. I blushed and looked away. ‘Why did I not tell him how I felt. If this is my last day I would have at least liked to have told him how I actually felt even if he didn’t feel the same.’ I thought. 'At least I could have passed knowing I had finally told him.’
I continued to think until we arrived at the exit we planned of leaving through. Once we got there my mind went blank. This was it, we were about to leave the wall. This was the last time I would see most of my comrades alive, considering many of them would not be returning. I looked around and saw anything from blank faces to faces that were similar to mine, pure and utter fear. This moment felt longer than the entire ride here, fear taking its course. It was silent until Erwin’s voice broke it with a loud onward.
The horses began to race through the gate on command. Soon we were outside of the wall and in Titan territory. It wasn’t till we got close to our target that I saw my first Titan. It was huge! It stood on its legs as it tried to run towards a group at our right. The group instantly went on attack mode as the Titan approached closer. It didn’t take long before it was taken out. The Titans continued coming until we reached the forest. Levi had explained that we would have to go in there to get to our destination. He had also said that we would all have to watch carefully because the Titans could appear Anywhere in the woods. This did little to calm me down, but I remembered what Petra had told me the day before. This calmed me little, but it was better than how I originally was going to enter the forest.
Everything was fine until we heard a scream in the back of the woods where everyone else was. This seemed to be a signal for other Titans to attack in the forest because a few minuets later a Titan jumped in front of our squad. I screamed a little as it had popped out of no where, but this didn’t scare anyone else in the squad.
“Eld and Gunther take it out,” Levi ordered. There was no hesitation from them as they shot off of their horses and into the air. “Brat, keep the horses from running away,” Levi ordered me as he handed me the straps from Eld’s and Gunther’s horses. I took them and made sure not to let go.
It wasn’t long until the Titan was killed and a new one took its place. After each kill another would come. It got to the point where we all had to get off our horses to try and help fight the Titans. I was doing well, killing Titan after Titan, until a Titan no one saw grabbed me. I screamed in pure terror as I looked into the crazy eyes of the Titan that had captured me. Hot tears were streaming down my face as I realized this was it, that I was going to die. My life flashed before my eyes as I was slowly raised to the Titans gigantic mouth. I closed my eyes so I no longer had to watch my own death. I pictured Levi as I awaited my death, regretting the fact that he would never know how I felt. At least he would be with me in my final thoughts.
I took one last breath in as I felt the Titans lungs exhale as air blew across me. Right before the Titan could kill me though, it was taken out. I had no clue who it was because the instant it fell I blacked out.
*time skip*
Everything was black, not any light to be seen. At first I thought I was dead, considering there was nothing but black surrounding me, but then I felt my heart beat against my chest, signaling that I was, indeed, alive. I tried opening my eyes, but they wouldn’t budge from their closed state. I internally groaned. I wanted to wake up and figure out how the heck I had survived. At the moment, I could only remember being grabbed by the Titan and screaming, but that was it. Everything after that was blank.
My eyes stayed impossible to open until a few minuets later when I felt the imaginary heavy weights lift off of them. My eyes flew open as light clouded into them. This caused me to have to blink crazily until my eyes adjusted to the light once more. Once I could see, I looked around. I was in an infirmary room laying on a white bed, my body covered in its white blankets. The rest of the room shared the same bland color of the bed I was in making everything seem brighter than it should be. I then saw a man in a chair beside my bed. It took me a few minuets to figure out that it was no other than Levi sleeping in the chair. He seemed to look normal except for the red puffy eyes he had. Had he been crying? That seemed impossible to me considering the man never seemed to show emotion at all.
I couldn’t help but stare at him as he slept, trying to figure out if I was just seeing things or if his puffy eyes were indeed real. A half hour passed before he finally stirred from his sleep. My assumption was proven true when I saw his eyes open to reveal blood shot eyes. It took a few minuets for the short man to figured out I was awake. When he did he instantly rushed to my side.
“You fucking idiot! You almost got fucking killed you dumb shit! I told you not to get killed and look what you fucking did you almost got fucking killed!” Levi was screaming at me in a fury I had only seen a few times in the month I had been here at the survey corps headquarters. I cowered back a bit, trying to escape the fuming man by sinking into the bed.
“I’m sorry. I didn’t see that Titan coming. If I had I would have killed it,” I whispered.
“You’re sorry!? I almost lost you, damn it. I almost lost you just like the others,” he quieted down as he finished.
“Levi, what do you mean by others?”
“Farlan and Isabel.”
“What, they were in the survey corps too?”
“Yes.”
“Is that why you left and never came back?” I quietly looked down as I asked.
“Yes, but we had no choice.”
“You didn’t have a choice Levi? Of course you did,” I said bitterly. I was still touchy around the whole being left behind bit, and the fact that he said there was no choice let it resurface. Levi never explained what truly happened and I deserved to know considering I almost died. “You had a choice to join. You know how long I waited for you three to come home. Months. I waited months. I worried for months. I was scared you had gotten caught. I asked around the underground if anyone had heard anything, seen anything. There was nothing. It was if you fell off the face of the earth. Eventually I gave up, I realized you three left me behind. I thought I had done something wrong, I thought it was my fault you left. You were the only family I had and you left, just like my parents. If I am wrong in my understanding of this then please do explain because I really would like to be out of the dark now.”
“We didn’t have a choice ( y/n). What happened to you, happened to us. We were being chased by the survey corps. I thought we had escaped, but that was when Erwin landed in front of us along with the others, trapping us. They kicked us to the ground. Erwin explained that I had two options, let Farlan, Isabel, and me be put in prison or join the survey corps. I couldn’t let them go to prison so I said we’d join. I hated how I felt, being trapped with each option being terrible. And don’t you think I didn’t feel bad about never being able to fucking tell you what was going to happen. I begged them to let me go back to tell you but the basterds wouldn’t let me. I carried that guilt for years! Then on one of our missions outside of the wall I split from my group to kill a Titan. I told Farlan and Isabel to stay with the group, they still listened to me even though I wasn’t their leader anymore,” he chuckled humorlessly. “So, I was off killing a Titan while the rest of my group was continuing on the path they were to go. See even then I was considered one of the best Titan killers and this caused my ego to sky rocket making me belive I could do anything. Let’s just say I learned my lesson that day.” Levi stopped talking. He lowered his head so he was looking at his legs. I knew where this was going, but I needed to know for sure.
“Levi, what happened?”
“I killed that Titan,” he said. That’s when I saw a single tear fall into his lap. He couldn’t be crying right? “But after I did I heard screams behind me. I figured it was another group and began heading over in that direction to help them. When I got there, I found a massacre. Limbs were lying everywhere. Blood was covering everything.” He paused and took a shaken breath. I had never seen Levi like this, I had never seen him show emotion in general, but this was strange. “I watched as the Titans were still munching on people. I then heard a scream that sounded like Farlan’s but I thought I was hearing things. It wasn’t till I heard my name being screamed that I turned in that direction to see a Titan with Farlan in its disgusting hands. I rushed over, but I was to late. I watched the fucking thing kill Farlan. The fucking bastered ate everything but his head.” Levis voice cracked as he said this. I watched as more tears split from his eyes and onto his lap. The site broke my heart and I began crying as well as I thought of what my two “siblings” had gone through. What horror they had faced. How they knew they were going to die. I hugged Levi as we cried together. A few minuets passed before Levi calmed down and pulled away from me to continue the story.
“That Titan, I killed it, but not instantly. No, I slowly killed it. I cut the damn monster to shreds and it wasn’t until I knew it was suffering that I finally ended its life. After that I fell to my knees and cried until Erwin came to get me. The only I had family was killed by them and it was all my fault. Had I not been so fucking cocky, had I just stayed with them, they would be here alive and well. But no I didn’t. They are dead because of me. Because I let us get caught by the survey corps, because I decided joining them was a better decision, because I left them. I was all of your leaders and I failed you all.” Levi looked up at me as tears continued to fall from his eyes. “And to make it all better, I almost let you die that same fucking way as they did. I almost got you killed too, the last family I had and I almost got you killed. You would think I would learn the first fucking time, but no I had to do it again.”
“Levi it wasn’t your fault. There is nothing you could have done to save Farlan and Isabel. It was their choice to listen as much as it was your choice to tell them to stay, and you never failed us. We all knew you did what you did because you knew what was best for us. You gave us all a family made of four kids who thought they would always be alone. That is more than enough to prove how you didn’t fail us. They might have died, but that was out of your hands and you did your best to stop that. That was all you could do,” I said as I watched Levi look back down at his legs. I picked his head up in my hands and made him look at me. “And there is no way in hell that you failed me. You saved me did you not, I am assuming you killed the Titan that had me, am I right?” Levi shook is head yes. “So you didn’t fail me Levi. I am still hear breathing air because you saved me. Don’t you ever dare to forget that. Do you understand me?”
“Yes.”
“Good,” I smiled. “Now may I tell you something?”
“Yes, what is it?” Levi asked as he wiped his tears from his face.
“I have wanted to tell you this before we went on the mission in case I didn’t make it, but I couldn’t get up the courage. I think this close encounter with death has helped me decide to tell you now.” I paused before going on. “Levi, I have felt this feeling for you since we were kids. When you left I forgot about this feeling and it wasn’t until I found you again that I realized what it was. Levi, I love you, and I know you might not fe-” my sentence was interrupted by a pair of rough lips agains mine. My eyes widened in shock at the realization of what was happening, but then closed as I relaxed into it. The kiss started off as soft and unsure, but quickly changed to passionate and loving the instant Levi realized I was kissing him back. We broke apart from each other to catch our breaths.
“So does this mean that short stuff loves me too?” I chuckled.
“Yes you dumb shit,” he answered.
“Good, I was hoping you would.” I then kissed him once more. We broke apart once more, this time Levi began talking.
“Just so you know, training is not going to become easier for you.”
“ I figure as not, but a girl could dream right?”

Preference: Your First Kiss with Them.

a/n: this was requested. I hope you all enjoy c: and I hope you don’t mind that I did high school Darry instead of his age from the books.

Darry:
Darry kissed you for the first time while he was wrapped up in excitement from winning a big game. Neither of you expected it but it just happened.

Darry and you had been crushing on each other for a while now and you had gone on two dates before he convinced you to come to see him play football.

You were with a few of your friends and you sat in the front row behind the cheerleaders. You didn’t really like football but the game wasn’t so bad since Darry was playing because you just sat there daydreaming about the two of you. You did start to pay closer attention towards the end. Your school’s team hadn’t been doing well the whole game but suddenly they were pulling through. You- along with everyone else in the stands on your side- stood up for the last few seconds of the game. You hadn’t realized you were holding you breath as you watched Darry catch the ball. He ran and ran and suddenly you and everyone in your section was screaming and jumping up and down.  Darry- your Darry- had just won the game for your school. You watched the other players run towards each other but you noticed Darry running your way so you stepped forward from your seat to stand by the railing that separated you from the field. Darry ran up to you grinning.

“Go steady with me?” He asked, panting slightly from running and from the excitement.

“Of course.” You laughed and nodded quickly.

Darry’s smile widened and before you knew it he was over the railing and picking you up. He pressed your lips pressed together as he spun you around.

Sodapop:
Sodapop and you had been best friends since you were little. Your first kiss technically was on the playground when he was eight and you were seven. You both swore to tell no one. Your first official kiss as a couple was one late night while you slept over the Curtis’s house. You both had been putting off your feelings for so long out of fear of ruining the friendship but that night you gave in and kissed.

You had been having feelings for him for a while and so had he but while you both knew it neither wanted to be the one to make the first move.

You slept over the Curtis house a lot. Sometimes you’d sleep on the couch on your own but most nights Sodapop would join you in the living room. You two would gather as many blankets as you could and make a bed on the floor.

That night you were both laying on your sides facing each other while Sodapop talked about his brothers. They had been fighting that night which is why you chose to stay the night. You knew Sodapop well enough to know that if he didn’t talk out his feelings right away he would break.

“Thank you for listening, Y/N..” He murmured after he had calmed down a bit.

“Of course,” You smiled slightly. You had been looking into his eyes but you couldn’t help as your own eyes flickered down to look at his lips. It was a quick look but he caught you. You saw the corners of his lips turn up a bit in a small grin and then you found yourself leaning toward him as he did the same and you two kissed hard.

Ponyboy:
Ponyboy had taken you on a couple of dates before your first kiss. He didn’t want to make you rush into anything you didn’t want so he took his time. It happened at school while you two sat under a big tree for shade while you ate your lunch and read silently. Something came over you both at the same time and you looked up from your books and just kissed.

Ponyboy and you had always had a different connection from the start. You had dated a couple of boys before and you really truly liked them, but a few months with one of them was nothing compared to the couple of short weeks you had spent so far with Ponyboy.

You two seemed to understand each other without words. It was lunch at school and you and him liked to sit under a tree for shade. You would talk for a bit while you walked to your spot but when there you would mostly read and eat your lunches silently and you loved the comfort in it.

That day you were both sat with a book in one hand and your free hands linked between you two. Suddenly you both looked up and over at each other. You smiled a bit and he did too and suddenly you were leaning close to each other, kissing softly.

Two-Bit:
You were two years younger than Two-Bit but he recognized you from a study hall class at school. You always thought he was funny and he always thought you were pretty cute but neither one of you did anything about it. One night he saw you hanging out with someone who he knew was bad news and so he came to check on you. He almost got into a fight that guy but he managed to get you away from him. When he found out that the only reason you did it was because you wanted a first kiss he offered to do it.

“So what are doing hanging around with a guy like that, little girl?” Two-Bit asked as he walked you back to your house. “Look I’m a greaser and even I know a guy like that ain’t no good.”

“Don’t say that.” You frowned and shivered slightly. “Don’t say I’m a little girl.”

Two-Bit looked over at you and took off his jacket so that you could put it on. You murmured a quiet thanks and he just shook his head. “Don’t thank me. Just tell me how you got mixed up with him.”

You shrugged a bit. “I’ve seen him around town loads of times. I knew he you know.. isn’t picky about who he’s with and I..” you mumbled the last few words quickly and quietly.

“What was that?” Two-Bit asked and you stopped walking. You were standing out front of your house by the fence.

“Don’t worry about it alright? Thanks for your concern and walking me home but it’s not a big deal I promise.”

“Y/N..” Two-Bit said looking you in the eyes.

You sighed softly and decided just to tell him. “I wanted someone to kiss me, alright? I’ve never been kissed before and I’m sick of people treating me like a kid. I’m the only one I know who hasn’t been kissed and I needed someone who I knew would do it and-”

Two-Bit cut you off as he leaned in to press your lips together. You kissed for a few seconds before he pulled away slightly with a smile. You could feel the warmth in your cheeks and you couldn’t help as the biggest smile came over your face.

“See?” Two-Bit said. “There’s nothing to it.”

“I.. I um…” You cringed a bit as you stuttered and tried to think of what to say.

“Why don’t you hang onto my jacket. I’ll see you Monday, Y/N.”

Dally:
Dally and you were on your first date when you saw your ex boyfriend pass by. Dally saw how upset it made you that he was with another girl so he kissed you to make you feel better.

Dally and you were at the diner sharing a milkshake and some fries with each other. You were sat on the same side of the booth and he had an arm draped around your shoulder. He was smirking a bit as you talked to him but suddenly something caught the corner of your eye and you turned your head. You saw your ex sitting down at a table with one of the girls in your class you just couldn’t stand. You looked down hoping he didn’t see you.

You felt guilty that on your first date with Dally you were allowing yourself to feel sad about the guy you used to date.

Dally noticed your silence and spoke up. “You alright, doll?”

You nod a bit and we’re gonna answer him until you both looked up at the same time, as your ex looked over and smirked at you. He pulled the girl he was with close and gave her a deep kiss. You cringed a bit.

“Hey is that the ass that was yelling at you that day? The one I almost kicked the crap out of?”

“Yea don’t worry about it.” You murmured and gave him a small smile.

He just shook his his head and pulled you in for a long kiss. When you two pulled away you both looked pleased.

“Now let’s go, doll. This place blows.” he said casually and you to walked out with his arm around your waist tightly.

Steve:
For your first kiss Steve wanted to kiss you right away but didn’t want to make you feel pressured so he walked you to your door said goodnight and left. He regretted it once he got home and so he drove all the way back to your house, climbed up to your window and kissed you.

You were already in your pajamas and you were just laying on your bed reading a book when layout heard a knock on your window. You jumped in surprise but relaxed a bit when you saw that it was Steve. You were a bit embarrassed that you were in your pajamas with your hair up but you rushed to the window anyways.

“What are you doing?” You whisper to him once you open the window. “If my dad or my brother sees you you’re a dead man.”

“Can I kiss you?” he asked grinned. He was standing on the floor part of your roof that came out from your window.

“Did you come all the way back here to ask me that?” You laughed a bit. “You could’ve earlier you know?”

“I know.. I know.. I was being stupid. Can I kiss you, Y/N?”

You nodded happily and leaned forward. Steve brushed a strand of hair from your face before kissing you softly.

Johnny:
Johnny and your first kiss happened at school. It surprised you both how casual it happened as if you two had kissed a thousand times before but for both of you that comfortability of it made it so great. You had been sitting with Johnny and his friends and you knew you had to get home to do some chores you skipped yesterday. When you said goodbye to him he just turned and kissed you quickly.

“I suppose I better get going or my mom’ll be mad.” You say as you put your backpack on and stand up from where you had been leaning against the car of one of Johnny’s friends. “I’ll see you tomorrow.” you say and suddenly you and Johnny’s lips are pressed together.

It was a quick kiss but when both of you pull away your both a bit taken a back.

“See you tomorrow.” Johnny nods with a grin and you run off to your bike not being able to wipe the smile off your face for the rest of the night.
