Changes to Anna and Elsa Standby Line at Magic Kingdom

As being reported by several Disney blogs, yesterday Disney implement a familiar new system for meeting Anna and Elsa at Magic Kingdom. Disney is still trying to get the wait time for the sisters down to a more manageable level. *Note that these changes do not effect Fastpass+ reservations.

From Inside the Magic:

Starting today, guests without FastPass+ reservations will receive a timed return ticket upon arriving to Princess Fairytale Hall, enabling them to come back later to meet the pair of characters with only a “moderate” wait. Guests arriving first thing in the morning will still be able to enter the standby line, but when it reaches a reasonable length cast members will begin to hand out timed tickets in limited amounts per return window.

This new process eliminates the need to spend hours waiting in line, freeing guests up to explore and enjoy the rest of the park. Similar return tickets are being used elsewhere at Walt Disney World, including the Frozen Summer Fun sing-along stage show at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

It has been pointed out that this system is exactly like the one that is used at Disneyland Paris’s Princess Pavilion. Rachael and Becca were given the above ticket to come back at specific time to the regular line. You can ready a bit more about it here at Becca’s friendofthemouse blog.

We’ll see what reports we hear about this new system. We do think that it should help because then Disney is directly controlling how many people are given tickets at what time. This way they can hopefully bring the wait times down to maybe an hour or less instead of the two to three plus hour wait that have become commonplace.
