Another question if you don't mind. I see you have a huge fascination with eren and annie's relationship. Can you talk more about it and why you like it. Also some of the parallels between the two as well.

Explaining in a proper way why I find myself fascinated by this “link” between Eren and Annie is not a simple task because, in addition to motivations driven by a mere behavior analysis of the two of them, I also have to consider my personal experiences as well as my instinct.

First of all, their relationship is perhaps one of the most interesting in all Shingeki no Kyojin, since it is the one with the greatest potential within the manga itself (again, I am not referring exclusively to a sentimental or passionate bond). This relationship is indeed the one that contributed most to the development of both characters; in fact, in the previous answer, I’ve already done an analogy with fire and ice, explaining how they seem to be antipodes but that, in reality, they are tied up by an invisible, unusual bond.

For Eren, Annie’s figure is not too different from that of a true mentor, a person who has continually pushed him to abandon his monochromatic vision of the world in order to overshadow the truth that lies beyond the smoke of doubts and uncertainties. This is not only an excellent point for a psychological development of this character alone, but even Annie found herself in a very unusual state of mind for her persona: she actually manage to open up, little by little, venting her own insecurities and frustrations through some sporadic dialogue on a philosophical/conceptual level, or simply by doing some sparring.
Initially, this was their way of learning from each other: for Eren this meant growing as a person and softening his rebellious spirit in order to observe the world from a different perspective; for Annie it was like shaking off the weight of her own solitude and cynicism, trying to find some inspiration in the willpower that, day after day, Eren showed to her.

The core of their relationship was and is on this very day mutual respect, as well as the desire to understand each other, gaining mutual benefit.

Now we can talk about Mikasa’s role into the picture.
For a long period of time Mikasa has been an impediment to the growth of Eren as a man, at first by being the cause of the inferiority complex of the boy, and later by becoming a real slow down to its maturation.
The relationship between Annie and Eren was moving away the young man from Mikasa’s grasp, making her jealous and eager to be able to making for herself such kind of bond.
A more confident Eren It would also mean a more independent and self conscious Eren, and that Mikasa could not accept it, totally conditioned by her understandable fears of losing her own perception of reality and her only remaining family figure.
This was the actual trigger for the birth of the rivalry between the two girls.

Back to Eren and Annie.
In order to emphasize even more the similarities between the two, we can entrust ourselves to a simple yet effective analogy, that is also appen to be what Ken-chan wrote (from which your last post on the pair was born).
At the very limit of their endurance, both of them have let themselves go to their human side in the same way: a hysterical laugh to point out their own failures. The first one has failed to become a real warrior and, in the end, return to his father, while the other one has failed to avenge his own mother and protect a central figure in his life, which is Hannes.
They’ve both broke their promises and they both fell into the dark abyss of desperation.

Apparently they walk through two completely separate paths, but in reality they are nothing but kindred spirits, destroyed and hardened by the blood, undone by the war, the fear and the cruelty of the real world within they live.
Digging through the torments of their souls it is possible to find the same sadness, the same oppressive and suffocating melancholy, the terror of failure and the inadequacy of not being accepted because of their weaknesses, the awareness that their sins are in the end useless (Annie), and the fear of not being able to fight for a future without chains (Eren).

Fire and ice.
Fury and stillness.
Indomitable will and empty apathy.
The shining light of the sun and the void of a moonless night.

There’s no doubt that they’re both two strong characters, but in the end they actually remain afraid of the world.
The complementary nature of their personalities is the primary characteristic for which this pair is so appealing to me. I’ve already expressed my point by saying that Shingeki no Kyojin it is not a suitable manga for the birth of an actual relationships (although, in this case, I have to admit that I would not mind at all, but only if coherently putted within the narration), but I cannot deny my being genuinely fascinated by the possibility that this sort of bond could might have in the long run.

Having common traits with Eren’s personality allows me to understand this character pretty well and, once again, ice and fire is actually the simplest but most effective analogy: the raging fury for freedom may be able to warm and move the depths of Annie’s soul, while the (illusory) frost of her heart could stop the boy’s self-destructive flames.
They do not share only the same sky or the same tears, but also the same will to devote their life to a lost cause.
Both are extremely complex characters; a subtle and almost indecipherable complexity for those who are not on their same page; however I’ve noticed that this answer is becoming way too long so, once again, I’ll just stop here.

Thanks again for asking.

A/N: This is it, guys! The final part of my entry for @marvelous-fvcks‘ challenge. I hope you liked this series as much as I enjoyed writing it.

Four years later

Y/N stood in front of the gravestone, brushing off the snow that had accumulated on top. She shivered and pulled her coat tighter around her, her gloved hands clutching the bouquet of white lilies she had bought from a local florist. The smell was tantalizing and she liked the intensity of it. She laid them in the snow, propped against the stone.

I had a dream last night that my parents decided that they hated me so much that they gave me $10,000 just so they’d never had to see me again, and I stood in the airport with my money drunk on fury and freedom. I told my therapist about this, the only dream I’ve ever mentioned to her, and I saw her, as sudden and involuntary as a sneeze, transform into a Freudian before we spent the next thirty minute discussing the unconscious and dreams.

First and foremost, I wanna say thank you to Sam BBB, who parted ways with FYA to focus on his own fest in Boston as he lives up there now. Without him the first two years would have never been possible and I’m extremely thankful he was into the idea from the start. That being said, this marks a change in the fest as we have switched locations and it will now be held at The Orpheum in Tampa, so I want to say thank you to Jerry and the staff there for being so accommodating and siked on having the fest there this year. Also, thank you to my mentor and older brother Joe hardcore and the greatest fest in the world This Is Hardcore for showing me the correct way to go about doing this and letting me pick his brain when I needed it/telling me when I was being an idiot.
This isn’t something that happens overnight and ever since the last FYA I’ve spent everyday thinking of how to make this years the best one yet, (I can’t count the amount of texts I’ve sent to Robert Goodspeed and Lennon from Blistered that said “yo what about if I did this??”) and I’m excited to say I think that was accomplished. There are barely any repeats from the first couple years to keep things fresh and give younger bands a chance to come down and play, we have our first overseas bands (repentance and renounced) and tons of bands new and old from Florida to California and everywhere in between. Some bands like The Rival Mob have never played Florida, others like All Out War haven’t played here in almost 15 years. Thanks to everyone who supported the fest from the beginning and I look forward to seeing everyone down here this year, I’m extremely proud of the name Florida has made for itself in the last couple years so hopefully this will continue the upward trend that’s been put in place. Tickets go on sale Friday at noon so be sure to keep an eye out and again thank you to all the bands and kids who have made the fest what it is up to this point .

Switching Places (Avengers)

“Talk to me, doctor.” Fury said to Selvig. “Director.” Selvig said. “Is there anything we know for certain?” Fury asked. “Tesseract is misbehaving.” Selvig told him and smiled. “Is that supposed to be funny?” Fury asked.

No, it’s not funny at all. The Tesseract is not only active she’s…misbehaving.“ Selvig said. “How soon until you pull the plug?” Fury asked.

“She’s an energy source. If we turn off the power, she turns it back on. If she reaches peak level-”

“We’ve prepared for this, doctor. Harnessing energy from space.” Fury said. “We don’t have the harness. Our calculations are far from complete. Now she’s throwing off interference, radiation. Nothing harmful, low levels of gamma radiation.” Selvig explained.

“That can be harmful. Where’s Barton?” Fury asked. “The Hawk? Up in her nest, as usual.” Selvig scoffed. You snorted. “Agent Barton, report.” Fury called you in.

You walked down from the catwalk and up to Fury. “I gave you this detail so you could keep a close eye on things.” Fury told you. “Well, I see better from a distance.” You told him.

“Are you seeing anything that might set this thing off?” Fury asked you. “No one’s come or gone. It’s oven is clean. No contacts, no I.M.’s. If there was any tampering, sir, it wasn’t at this end.” You told him.

“At this end?” He asked you. “Yeah, the cube is a doorway to the other end of space, right? The doors open from both sides.” You told him.

Suddenly- the Tesseract thundered and shook the entire facility. The flaring rings and glow of the cube spouted out brighter and louder. The Tesseract’s energy built up into a beam, which hit at the end of the platform.

The great maelstrom beam FIRES the Tesseract energy. The beam then formed a vortex, which then opened up a portal.

Shield guards slowly approached, weapons in hands. A figure was kneeling on the platform, smoke coming off it. He raised his head and had a mischievous smile.

He looked deep into the eyes of Fury, Selvig and you. He stood up, holding a the scepter. “Sir, please put down the spear!” Fury said. The man looked down at his spear and suddenly pointed it where you and Fury stood, then shot out a blue exploding light towards you. You tackled Fury down and the shot barely missed you.

Machine gun fire are shot at him, but the bullets bounce off him. He jumps high from the platform and attacked those firing at him. In the blink of an eye, he took down several guards with his knives and energy blasts from the scepter.

He stopped and waited to see who will attack him next. You then tried to stand up, he then quickly walked towards you. You raised your gun but he grabbed your hand.

“You have heart.” He said, then pointed the head of the scepter at your head. Your eyes suddenly turned black. You mind was now his.

You then put your gun away and standard upstraight. “Please don’t. I still need that.” He told Fury. “This doesn’t have to get any messier.” Fury told him.

“Of course it does. I’ve come too far for anything else. I am Loki of Asgard, and I am burdened with glorious purpose.” Loki said. “Loki? Brother of Thor?” Selvig said, standing up.

“We have no quarrel with your people.” Fury told him. “An ant has no quarrel with a boot.” Loki said. “You planning to step on us?” Fury asked him. “I come with glad tidings, of a world made free.” Loki said.

“Free from what?” Fury asked. “Freedom. Freedom is life’s greatest lie. Once you accept that in your heart…” Loki then turned to face Selvig and placed the scepter against his heart.

“You will know peace.” Loki finished then Selvig’s eyes turned black. “Yeah, you say peace, I kind of think you mean the other thing.” Fury said. The Tesseract’s energy cloud rapidly built into an implosion.

“Sir, Director Fury is stalling. This place is about to blow. Drop a hundred feet of rock on us. He means to bury us.” You told Loki.

“Like The Pharaohs of Odin.” Fury said. “She’s right.” Selvig said. “Of course I’m right.” You scoffed at him. “The portal is collapsing in on itself. You got maybe two minutes before this goes critical.” Selvig finished.

“Well, then…” Loki said then looked at you. Then without hesitation, you shot Fury and he fell on the ground. You then grabbed the case containing the Tesseract and left the building with Loki, Selvig, and a few guards.

“Need these vehicles.” You told Hill as you entered the parking garage. “Who’s that?” She asked, referring to Loki. “He didn’t tell me.” You said then all of you got into the trunk.

The guard drove out of the facility and went to a secure location, where Loki could begin his plans.

-

“Clint, Y/N’s been compromised.” Coulson said over the phone. “On my way.” Clint said and ran outside into his car and drove off to the location Coulson sent on his phone.

-

“She’s heading to the detention level. Does anyone copy?” Fury asked. “I do.” Clint said, then ran to find his sister. When they found each other, you punched his gut and wrapped your legs around his neck and pulled him down to the ground.

He got out of the lock and set out to punch you, but you grabbed his arm, got off the ground and kicked his face. He fell down and you began to walk.

He got up and ran towards you, using the butt of his gun to knock you out. “She’s down.” Clint said, out of breathe and sat down.

-

“What happened?” You asked as you woke up. You were handcuffed to the bed. “You went dark side.” Tony told you. You then kicked his gut and he grunted out in pain. “You were mind controlled, by a God.” Clint said.

Safe

Title: Safe
Chapter/One shot: Chapter 18
Original Imagine:
Imagine you’re running from a bunch of vampire hunters because they’re convinced you’re a vampire because you escaped a cell at the lab where you were being held. You wish with all your heart that you were somewhere safe with someone you can trust. Suddenly, you get shot with a tranquilizer dart which messes your running up and makes you trip and fall. You get back up, looking behind you, you see the hunters stop then you run into what feels like a brick wall. You almost fall but 2 strong arms catch you, seeing the odd clothing you look up to see it’s Loki. You say help please then you pass out as the tranquilizer takes effect.

Chapter 18

April’s POV:

Fury thought it best not to tell the rest of the team about our deal. They trusted Loki even less than they trusted me, and that was really saying something. I hated the way they treated him. After all this time, I thought they should stop ostracizing him for something he had done years ago. After all, most everyone else had already forgiven him. Hell, he had his own online “army.” It was made up of mostly females who wanted to fuck him, but still…

We made our plans around the conference room table. Loki sat next to me, his hand squeezing my thigh periodically. I knew he wasn’t totally onboard with Fury’s idea, but I thought it was the only way to guarantee we got the proof we needed. And there was the added bonus of Loki’s freedom.

Loki had thought Fury would just let him go when we were done, but judging by the way Fury and the rest of them still treated him, I did not think that was the case. I had to make absolutely sure he could walk away from here with me. He deserved it. He had given plenty of his time to them.
