Lucknow to Lahore: Fred Bremner’s vision of India will feature at the Scottish National Portrait Gallery in Edinburgh. The exhibition chronicles Bremner’s journey through the north-easterly part of the British Raj (present day Pakistan and Madhya Pradesh in India)

Bremner who left Scotland for India in 1882 would spent the next 40 years in India.

These photographs offers a glimpse into the lives of people in India under the British Raj—a variety ranging from simple fisherfolk to the aristocratic gentry.

The exhibition will run until April 7.
