[Ficlet] Nicknames
Pairing: Dazai/Atsushi

“A what?” Atsushi slowly lowered the cup he’d brought to his lips.

Nickname, Atsushi-kun! Nicknames!” Dazai said, happily clapping his hands together and looking at Atsushi with an expectant gleam in his eyes.

“Ah,” Atsushi put down his coffee and picked up his pen again. Hopefully Dazai would leave it alone should he pretend to be busy with this report – which he was – but Dazai only leaned down further, practically hanging over Atsushi where he sat by his desk, innocently performing his duties at the Agency.

“Well, Atsushi-kun? Well?” Dazai pressed on, his tone of voice could only be described as giddy.

Atsushi’s shoulders lowered as he sighed and looked up at the other man. “Honestly, Dazai-san, I don’t really see any need for us to have nicknames for each other.”

Dazai made a sound, sounding vaguely offended, and dramatically put his hand over his heart.

“Atsushi-kun! I’m hurt! A nickname is an important pillar of any relationship!” Here he grabbed Atsushi’s hands to hold them against his chest instead, Atsushi still holding his pen in a loose grip. “Especially since I can’t make you stop with the honorific, these things are super important!”

Atsushi blinked owlishly, for the moment swayed by Dazai’s – dubiously authentic – performance while being relieved they were alone at the office at the same time.

“They are?”

Dazai nodded, encouraged by Atsushi considering the idea he grabbed a chair and sat down, leaning his elbows on the desk while still holding the other’s hands.

“Yes! We’ve been dating for – ah, three months now-“ Dazai stopped and smiled softly at him, Atsushi gave a small smile back, “- and I think we need to take this a step further.”

F-Further? You mean-?”

“Yes, nicknames! So, I’ll go first.”

“Dazai-san, I’m not sure this is necessary-“

Atsushi blinked, then frowned. “What?”

“Darling, honey, cutie pie,” Dazai kept listing names. Atsushi could feel a headache coming. He dragged his hand over his eyes and groaned.

“You’re not making any sense.”

Hmm,” Dazai made that offended noise again and Atsushi felt him taking his other hand – maybe to once again bring it to his chest and proclaim about the foundations of a functioning relationship. Atsushi peeked through his fingers and watched as Dazai elegantly held Atsushi’s hand in front of his own lips. He blew warm air over the skin, and something inside of Atsushi’s stomach fluttered.

Dazai dragged his lower lip over Atsushi’s fingers and then met his eyes. They seemed deep and warm in the sharp light of the afternoon sun.

The butterflies in Atsushi’s stomach turner sharper, he might’ve made a sound because Dazai’s gentle smile crooked; became smug. He leaned closer, close enough for Atsushi to catch the faint fragrance of tea and cologne over the beating of his heart that’d escalated quickly.

“You like that?” Dazai’s voice sounded smooth despite his smile, his eyes twinkled. “Sweetheart?”

A furious blush stretched against his cheeks, Atsushi could feel it. The more it grew the bigger the grin on Dazai’s face widened, and Atsushi felt a strange feeling of losing – what he didn’t know, only that it frustrated him. He tried for a response but could only sputter helplessly.

Dazai chuckled and released his hand. “So that’s it, huh?” He said victoriously.

Atsushi jerked his head up and took hold of Dazai’s hands in a poor imitation of Dazai’s earlier actions. Heart in his mouth Atsushi said with a slightly squeaky but serious voice:

“My love.”

Dazai froze. He looked from their intertwined hands up to Atsushi’s determined face. Unblinking, he opened his mouth, then closed it.

“Well,” Dazai rasped and tried clearing his throat, “that’s it then.”

He got up, strange expression on his face, and then walked towards the exit.

“Dazai? Where are you going?” Kunikida met him in the door, looking up from his bunt of papers at Dazai’s retreating back.

“Oh, nothing. Just going to question the meaning of life!” Dazai answered, his laughter stiff.

What?” Kunikida yelled after him. He turned his head and stared hard at Atsushi. “What happened!?”

Then he stopped and, stupefied, looked down at his papers, “and why am I even acting surprised?

Atsushi groaned and hit his head on the desk.

Oh my god! If you get a chance, would you consider continuing collarsworn? How does Cody react to the bruises? What does Anakin say to Cody? Does Cody court Obi Wan???? So many questions!! Also, thank you so much for your writing, it's beautiful and I look forward to reading everything you write

“Welcome back General’s, I hope the mission was a succ-General Kenobi!” Cody dropped the pad in his hand in shock, staring at his General wide eyes as he took in the dark bruises around the redhead’s neck and the bruised eye.

Obi-Wan chuckled faintly as he moved off the ramp and into the hanger, Anakin two steps behind him. “Cody, good to see you.” He rasped out, visibly resisting the urge to rub his throat even if it was aching like frip. He perked up when he saw Ahsoka join Rex in the hanger and patted Cody on the shoulder before moving to greet the other two.

Cody meanwhile shook himself and gave Anakin a wide eyed look, silently demanding an explanation.

“One of the slavers decided to hire bounty hunters when I wouldn’t ‘sell’ Obi-Wan to them.” Anakin lowered his voice to a whisper.

He then nodded at Obi-Wan’s back. “Please go help him, he won’t let me fuss anymore over him…” The knight grunted.

Cody shifted and then nodded firmly before following after his General on swift steps that got him caught up to the man who was heading for his quarters after greeting Commander Tano and Rex, hearing General Skywalker sigh in relief.

…That was kind of nice, that the blond trusted him with Ob-Kenobi like that since he knew the level of protectiveness he had for the man.

“I am quite fine Cody, its just some bruises that will heal with time and some care.” Obi-Wan rasped out then sighed when Cody just gave him an unimpressed stare. “Oh very well Cody but there’s not much you can do about them.” He shook his head.

“We’ll see about that sir.” The commander smirked in turn before typing in on his comm to the medbay. “Helix, we still got that bruising cream you talked about?” He questioned, smirking wider when he got confirmation.

Seemingly catching himself in rolling his eyes, Obi-Wan allowed Cody to take charge, letting the other manhandle him onto his bed in his quarters and start on tea. “Really Cody…”

“With all due respect sir, can it. You look like hell.” The trooper said firmly, rustling through the cans of tea to find the black tea and the little jar of honey that the redhead had hidden away among the tea and was only meant for one or two of the tea kinds.

But it would help the others throat, Cody was sure of that as he added a little dollop of it into the cup before placing the tea infuser into it.

“Cody I’m fine, Anakin looked after me.” The Jedi once again tried before sighing when the other pointedly ignored him, a little fond smile flickering over his lips as he watched the other stand by the kettle heater in his room.

As Helix arrived with the bruising cream and a cold gel bag, the fragrance of the black tea filled the room as Obi-Wan relaxed even more fully then he had in days, the smell of tea and the familiar Force sensitives filling the ship all over.

He sat back a bit on his bunk and accepted the cup from Cody to take a small sip. “Mmm, perfect as always Cody…” The Jedi hummed.

“Good.” The commander joined him on the bed. “Close your eye?” He waited for the Jedi to follow the order and then gently dabbed the cream around the black and puffy eye, a minty smell filling the air.

Obi-Wan gave a tiny noise but sat still for it until the other was done before lifting his head so Cody could rub it into his neck, hands tense on his cup as he watched Cody. “…Did you miss me?” He whispered.

“More then I should admit, yes General.” Cody gently rubbed in the cream.

Slipping one hand of his cup, Obi-Wan caught Cody’s free wrist and gave it a little squeeze. “…I missed you too.” He confessed quietly.

Stopping for a moment, Cody caught the others eyes for a long moment before smiling gently at him and nodding, adding more of the cream to Obi-Wan’s pale bruised throat.

Violets are now blooming and can be found pretty much everywhere, so it’s time to make a nice cup of violet tea :)

Collect leaves and flowers, clean them, then dry them or use them fresh. For one cup of tea, you’ll need 2-3 teaspoons of fresh or 1-2 teaspoons of dried violets. Steep for 5-6 minutes.

Violets are good to treat coughs, sore throat, colds, headache and fever, contain several minerals and vitamins and support the immune system. Also have a lovely sweet fragrance and taste :)

NOTE:  A prompt like this could probably be interpreted in a more racy manner. But I’m not so daring so I took this lighthearted route. And this is also a topic close to my heart so I figured I’d incorporate it into these week’s entries. It’s a topic I’ve tackled in other Zutara stories but one that I never tire of.

Just a simple, short one-shot for today (a bit cheesy too) but I hope one still worth reading.

Tea Pom Basics Directory Pt. 2

Part 1 can be found here

Tea Pom culture is a somewhat regal one- they’re highly valued as a species, and one of the dominant ones living in the forest.
Their common attire is semi formal, also whilst focusing on being comfortable- since they are also a species that value daily life and comfort among others.
Examples of what’s considered part of their everyday attire is Cybele above and:

Briar and her siblings

These lovely twins created by my good friend @erosism

And another misc example I have (old art incoming)

(if you’re having trouble coming up with something, think spin-offs of uniforms and first date clothes!! Or something you’d wear to a nice restaurant, but not too fancy. It’s a rather wide range, especially looking between Cybele’s outfit and the last girl’s).
It’s extremely common for their clothing to have at least one leg showing, as showing off your tea flavor is a form of peace and vulnerability. Plus, look how nice they look!

Poms have a dress down sunday-
Where they wear clothing that’s less formal. It’s completely optional, though.

That’s nice an all, but is that glass sturdy? Can it crack? Shouldn’t they wear armor?

The glass is very sturdy, but unfortunately, it’s not unbreakable. If they fall hard enough onto protruding and hard surfaces, or get hit hard enough with something solid- the glass can crack, and even break!

Breakage can lead to death if not handled quickly and accordingly. Cracking usually does not lead to leaking, but it has severe effects on esteem, health, and mental stability. Tea Poms are typically more reserved and focus on positive vibes. Those who are cracked tend to lash out, exhibit negative emotions more typically, or act in less neurotypical ways.

I didn’t draw it above in the example, but Briar has a crack on her torso from when she was a small child. How this affects her: When she was young, she was a lot more outgoing and focused- a confident young girl that used to love exploring. Once she gained her crack, she became more skittery, her judgement has slackened, and while she’s retained her love for exploring, she’s become slower in processing and tends to space out. It’s also affected her self esteem greatly.

Poms with a crack have a different attitude towards life and tend to rebel a lot.
Here is one kid (old art warning)

Take note in his facial expression and how he dresses- it has a lot less formality. Cracked poms tend to dress more freely. Their dress down day is everyday.

Other conditions can arise from gaining a crack, such as anger issues, heightened anxiety, etc. There IS therapy available that heals the crack (it does not heal on it’s own like skin would), and it also treats their mental states. However, most tend to reject therapy treatment.

About flavors:

You can make virtually any flavor tea for tea poms. But take note of occurance for different types:

The most common tea poms have simple herbal leaves flowing through their “blood”.

less common are poms who have petals or entire flowers that’s flow in their “blood”. These occur only in floral tea types (Briar is rose tea, therefore a floral type. However, she has herbal leaves, not petals or flowers.)

Existing in their own little cute village away from other types are the Boba teas. They, as you guessed, have boba floating around in them and have cold body temperatures! As a result, they prefer to live away from the heat compounding in the more commonly populated areas.

Relationship with humans:

Poms have a relatively negative relationship with humans. They’re small, cute, and they each give off their own faint fragrance reminiscent of their tea flavor. Humans tend to relish this, and have been kidnapping and trafficking poms to sell to the rich as house pets and decoration for ages. What mainly protects poms- from humans are far bigger and stronger- is the fact that they are fragrant. Due to their incredible high population in the forest, there’s a dense heat and smell that emanate from it. Going near that forest without the proper gear can cause hallucinations, blackouts, memory loss, and fainting (if exposed to it for too long). If exposed for an incredibly long time, these side effects can compound to inflict brain damage. Only the poms themselves and the forest’s natural inhabitants can withstand the environment.

These are the basics for Poms for now, and hardly touches on much of their society and the like! I mostly wanted to get out appearance and basics for relationships and anatomy ;v; If anyone has anymore questions, feel free to send an ask or shoot me a message!!

@mutuals and friends- if you decide to make one!!! Please show me the design, I’d love to see!!!!

Herb of the Week-Jasmine

Common names

Catalonian Jasmine
Common Jasmine
Common White Jasmine
Italian Jasmine
Jasmini Flos
Mo Li Hua
Poet’s Jasmine
Royal Jasmine
Spanish Jasmine

Jasmine belongs to the olive family, also known as Oleaceae. This shrub and vine genus comprises about 200 species that are indigenous to the warm temperate and tropical regions of Asia, Europe and Africa. Plants belonging to this genus are cultivated extensively for the typical aroma of their flowers.

Jasmines may be evergreen (having green leaves throughout the year) or deciduous (shedding their leaves in autumn). In addition, plants belonging to this genus may be of various types - erect, climbing shrubs, spreading or even vines. The leaves of these plants appear alternately or opposite to one another on the stem. In addition, the leaves of jasmine may be simple, pinnate or trifoliate. Usually, the flowers of jasmine measure about 2.5 cm (0.98 inch) across and their color may either be white or yellow. Although rare, in some cases jasmine flowers may even be somewhat reddish. The flowers appear in clusters and each cluster contains no less than three blooms. However, on many instances, solitary flowers can also appear at the terminal of the small branches.

Each jasmine flower comprises anything between four and nine petals, one to four ovules and generally two locules. Every flower contains two stamens having very small filaments. The bracts of the flowers are either ovate or linear, while the shape of the calyx is akin to that of a bell. Generally, the calyx is extremely aromatic. Jasmine bears berry-like fruits whose color changes to black when they mature.

Parts used

Oil, flowers.

Jasmine flowers and the essential oil obtained from them have numerous uses. While they are frequently used in perfumes and to flavour foods, a tea prepared from the flowers is taken internally for therapeutic purposes.

Introduction to Chinese art of tea

Tea is an important part of Chinese tradition. As Chinese society developed and progressed, tea production has played a role in driving economic development while tea consumption has remained a practice of daily life.

The practice of tea culture can bring the spirit and wisdom of human beings to a higher orbit. Tea has an extremely close relationship to Chinese culture, and its study covers a wide field and has very rich content. It not only embodies the spirit of civilization, but also the spirit of ideological form. There can be no doubt that it has been beneficial in enhancing people’s social accomplishments and appreciation of art.

The practice of drinking tea has a long history in China. Shennong (Chinese: 神农), whose name means the Divine Farmer – and who is considered as the ancient Chinese Father of Agriculture, is honored with the discovery of tea. According to legend, one fall afternoon, Shennong decided to take a rest under a Camellia tree and boiled some water to drink. Dried leaves from the tree above floated down into the pot of boiling water and infused with the water, creating a pot of tea, marking the first ever infusion of the tea leaf. Intrigued by the delightful fragrance, Shennong took a sip and found it refreshing.Since Shennong’s discovery, tea has been grown and enjoyed throughout the world.

Chinese tea culture

Drinking tea:Tea is taken as a beverage to quench thirst.

Tasting tea: The quality of the tea is judged by the color, fragrance and flavor of the tea, the water quality and even the tea set. When tasting tea, the taster should be able to savor the tea thoroughly.

Tea art: While drinking attention is paid to environment, atmosphere, music, infusing techniques and interpersonal relationships.

The highest ambit– tea lore : Philosophy, ethics and morality are blended into tea activity. People cultivate their morality and mind, and savor life through tasting tea, thereby attaining joy of spirit.

Chinese tea lore is several hundred years, possibly even thousands of years, older than that of Japan. It is said that Chinese tea lore places an emphasis on spirit and makes light of form. Tea lore had different representations at different historical periods. Teas are also various, but all embody the tea spirit of “clearness, respect, joy and truthfulness”.

Types of tea

There are various types of tea, the main varieties of Chinese tea are classified as green tea, red tea (black tea), Wulong tea, white tea, yellow tea, and reprocessed tea.
