Devin Townsend - Kingdom

I absolutely adore Devin Townsend and this may one of my absolute favourite songs of all time. His voice is so powerful, if you notice at 4:24 you can tell how much power is in his voice.

Also, the EMG 81 and EMG 66 humbucker pickups sound totally awesome!

PLEASE PLEASE listen to this, it’s so perfect

How to make 10 II V I licks with a Gm7 arpeggio

This lesson came about from a conversation I had on twitter. I wanted to try to demonstrate how it is more important to be able to use simple arpeggios and other structures than knowing a lot of exotic scales or arpeggios. Because the good a lot of goods melodies can be made with very simple structures. This is why I took one arpeggio and used that in 10 II V I licks.

As always you can download the examples as a PDF here:

Hope you can use it!

Bb Jazz Blues Chord Solo

Chord solos are a great way to have some other material to use in solos to vary the sound of the single note lines. They are also a good way to get a fuller sound of the guitar almost sounding like a complete horn section in a big band, which it also will often resemble because of the melodies and voice-leading it contains.

Hope you like it, and let me know if you have any questions!

Trying to wake up and warm up with a bit of soloing on the chord progression of Night and Day.

Incidently also trying out a prototype of my John Daw signature acrylic pick! (and liking the sound of it!)
