Yes, 85 percent of violent crime against black people is perpetuated by other black people. But guess what? The exact same is true for violent crime committed against white people: the vast majority of those crimes are committed by other white people. People who use the term “black on black crime” either 1) work for Fox News, 2) are seeking to portray black people as violent and out of control, and/or 3) seek to portray black people as only caring about black lives when there is a way to blame white people. Let’s run that back: 1) If they work for Fox News…you already know. 2) If we’re going to make sweeping statements about people being violent and out of control, perhaps we should focus on young white males. 3) Anyone who would fit with #3 is not interested in facts, otherwise they would be aware of the vast number of organizations and movements to end gun violence in black neighborhoods… spearheaded by black people. The real motivation behind this troll (and all of them really) is to distract from the matter at hand, and that’s that an unarmed black teen is dead.

(1/2) Additionally, Fox news throwing a fit during an interview about how Steve shouldn't be the one to represent America if he's an omega and should he really be in combat at all? And Steve not sassing them because he is trying to keep that stupid

(2/2) family-friendly guy thing going, but then they step over a line and he just lets it all go. And Bucky, of course, is watching his angry punk from the sidelines with a smug smile on his face. -summerpacifist

I tried to tag you in this but it wouldn’t let me!

Steve had been interviewed for countless news stations before, both back in the 40’s and now, but this was the first one since Steve had loudly and publicly come out as an omega. The public had been told he was an alpha, and it had been easy to believe, but Steve of course saw no shame in his nature and had leapt at the chance to correct a reporter during a press conference after their latest mission.

Now he was sitting as demurely as a 200-pound beast of a man can in a chair across from the interviewer.

“I mean, as an omega, do you really think that you’re the best person for this job?”

Steve cocked is head to the side. “I don’t follow.”

The man across from Steve floundered, his pink flabby hands fluttering over the papers on his desk.

“Well, omegas are…” He chewed on his lip. “An omega as the symbol for our nation is more than a little unorthodox.”

“There are as many omegas as alphas in this country, more the last time I read an article on birthrates. What makes you think they don’t deserve as much representation as alphas?”

Bucky couldn’t help but grin from his spot in the wings. Steve was going into political mode, and that never ended well for anyone on the other side. He loved his bull-headed mate, and he especially loved seeing him punch a hole in the ego of other alphas. He could tell Steve was trying to keep himself in check and not go on a huge rant. He tried hard to keep up the Captain America family friendly thing going in front of cameras and Bucky understood.

“That’s not- I just meant that… I don’t think we allow omegas in combat situations, and you sure find yourself in a lot of them. Maybe it would be better if someone else-”

“You mean it would be better if I was an alpha?” Steve’s tone had gone sharp and his posture had gone rigid. Now the guy had done it.

“I was chosen for this because I was the best for the job, my nature wasn’t a problem back then and it will not be a problem now.” Steve practically hissed. “My being an omega makes no difference in my ability to do this job, and I will not have knot-head alphas like you talking down to me.” Steve had half-risen out of his chair now, his hands clenched at his sides.

The interviewer looked like he wanted to disaster into his seat. “I just-”

Dude you should have stopped while you were ahead. Bucky leaned against one of the big cameras, a smug smile on his lips. He loved his pissy little omega.

“You just think that I can’t do my job. I was hoping that line of thinking had gone in the 70 years I was frozen in the ice, but I see it’s still alive and well. Because I’m an omega I can’t protect the people I care about? Only alphas can hold positions of power and be shown in a positive light? Would you be happier if I was at your feet?” Steve’s voice had not raised much in volume but the fury in his eyes was obvious. He didn’t need to yell.

“I wasn’t implying that-”

“I wasn’t finished, and you were implying more than that. My nature didn’t bar me from being chosen, it didn’t bar me from taking down Hydra twice, and I will not let you use it against me now.”

A pretty beta assistant rushed over to the pair from behind the camera. Ah, there it was, interview over. Bucky pushed himself off the camera and headed toward his mate.

“You just had to cause a scene, huh Stevie?”

Steve looked up at him, a sheepish smile on his face. “Sorry Buck, you know I don’t like bullies.”
