There are so many different car styles in Japan, can you list a few that are worth a proper look?
Kanjo racers are awesome. Just a bunch of civic hatchbacks(among others) that are built like you would see them on a track, but their racing exists on kanjo loops/circuits.
Kaido racers(or highway racers) are my personal favorite. These take influences from the old Silhouette formula race cars and are complete works of form, with an awesome bit of function in some ways or others.
Dekotora is another popular car art form in Japan. This is when you take semi-trucks or just large box trucks and decorate them with lights and crazy objects. It’s very cool and I hope to go to a dekotora show when I can.
Zokusha is another form of car styling that has a lot of similarities to kaido racers, but take the elements of kaido racers and greatly exaggerate them. This is often referred to with the term ‘bosozoku’ but that, despite popular belief, is not the correct term.
