“So this is what happens when someone gets your nose out of a book.” The overturned bucket was too opaque, granting Ruby the sight of little more than an orangey tint that combined the color of the plastic and the color of the sun.
Still, she didn’t need her sight to be able to tell that Belle was still there. Ruby didn’t need her heightened sense of smell either, to recognize that familiar scent, despite how it was slightly altered by the salt and water mingling with it. The feel of someone’s body so close wasn’t exactly hard to miss. Neither was the sound of Belle’s laughter in response.
“No.” A hand went towards the back of Ruby’s head, guiding her forward. “This is what happens when you get my nose out of a book.” She felt lips planting a kiss on her nose, causing her smile to turn into a full-out grin.
