for them both

Okay, so I was pretty sure just by the GIFs and such that I was going to really like Cassian once I saw Rogue One. What I didn’t anticipate was how much I was going to looooove him! I adored the fact that he was complicated. Yes, he was a hero but he was also a man who had done terrible things in the name of good.

This moment here? *points up* It straight-up shocked me. And it made me sorta sit up and go, “Well, apparently there are going to be a few more layers to the good captain than I was expecting!” That was a brilliant moment because you saw what he was willing to do to achieve his objective and to follow his orders.

It made the tension so much higher later on when we knew he had orders to kill Jyn’s dad Galen. Even though I knew he wouldn’t do it (’cause spoilers are everywhere when you don’t get to see a thing right away so I didn’t even try ;) ), I still found myself sorta holding my breath and all, “Wait, is he going to pull the trigger???”

He’s a good man who’s been broken by this long, arduous fight. And then he meets Jyn.

I love that she’s broken in her own ways, hardly a perfect person but still a good one. As she learns to have hope again, she inspires it in others. She inspires it in Cassian.

I’ll be the first to admit, I’ve never been fond of the “everybody dies” ending. When all’s said and done, I’d rather my movies and books and such just lie to my face and tell me that everybody’s fine and no one was hurt and every single person had a happy ending. *nodnods* ;)

That said, though, I think once they committed to this ending, they carried it out well. No one died uselessly or needlessly. They died heroes, saving people who would never even know their names. And, holy moly, the ending with Jyn and Cassian? This was perfection.

He came back for her. He’d been shot, taken a huge fall, then managed to climb all the way back up to get back to her side. To help her achieve their goal. To save her, even though they were doomed anyway.

That little moment there, when he closes his eyes and holds onto her tighter. That’s just… Man. What a character arc this movie took him through!

And what character arcs for them both! Two broken people having learned to trust again, learning to have hope again, clinging together as they save the galaxy but their world ends.

That’s a beautiful, tragic, epic OTP right there. But maybe not as tragic as all that. They’re one with the Force and the Force is with them.

(1/2) I think we'll eventually get to the point where Dean and Cas say how much they mean to each other and have it not be under stressful/life or death circumstances. I think that's what their interactions have been missing. Because all the times i can think of that they've made that step have been great and a move in the right direction, but there's still a lot of air left to clear. And Dean still speaks in genuine but general terms when speaking of affection to Cas.

(2/2) Like the finale of last season and then this ep, Dean talks about how important Cas is to team free will, and Cas said a somewhat ambiguous “i love you” while dying. There have been a couple examples of one on one confessions under duress, but we still haven’t gotten a “i want to say what you mean to me specifically” talk. Again, lots of misunderstanding and air left to clear but i love what this season is doing to chip away at that!!

YES YES YES. I mean, I think we’re at a point now where “we need you” is absolutely not enough here. Even “I need you” isn’t cutting it.

Heck, it reminds me of Cas interrogating Soulless Sam while trying to diagnose what was wrong with him:

Castiel: Sam… What are you feeling now?
Sam: [scoffs] I feel like my nose is broken.
Castiel: No, that’s a physical sensation. How do you feel?
Sam: Well, I think –
Castiel: Feel.

They were talking past one another. Not that I think either Dean or Cas is soulless or incapable of understanding their feelings, but they are deliberately dodging around them, believing that they’re saying what the other wants or expects to hear. They’re thinking to much and not feeling enough.

Feeling can be dangerous.

But I think something bigger than “the three of us,” or “you’re our family” is gonna be required to free Cas this time around. And it’s gonna require feelings.

I don't consider CC canon either, but I consider FBAWTFT canon in a way... like it's not the same story, so it's not totally canon, but it's in the same universe. I just flat out don't see CC as canon.

Idk I mean I like them both and appreciate what they’ve brought to the fandom, but equally I don’t view them as canon because I feel it takes away from the reading experience

One of the joys of reading is using your imagination, although we’re all given the same base structure, everyone’s interpretation of a character is going to be different. We can all imagine our own versions of what happened before or after the original series and that’s part of what’s great about having such an expansive universe

Fantastic Beasts and Cursed Child, and particularly Pottermore, take away from that a bit if you view them as canon. We don’t get to imagine Harry’s relationship with his children or how Grindelwald rose to power, we’re given a ‘correct’ version and anything you’ve imagined for the last 10 years is wrong rather than your own interpretation

I just feel like it’s a shame to be told everything about this universe when a lot of the joy stems from using your imagination

Ika is going home because Karen won’t forgive her for being “cold” and because Dre is too jealous and would rather evict Ika, the queen of the show than to keep someone she knows won’t nominate her.

i just watch Strange Magic, and marianne are meiko tbh lmao

I just watched it, because of u. This is out of the focus u are directing me, but THE DAWN WHO FELL IN LOVE BECAUSE OF THE LOVE POTION IS SO CUTE????

SHE TALKED & SANG THE SOFTEST AT THAT VERY MOMENT. IT WAS LIKE SHE WHISPERED RIGHT TO MY EARS & I REALLY CAN’T HELP TO FALL IN LOVE WITH /THAT/ HER. THE WAY HER EYES KEPT WIDENING ON THE SIGHT OF BOG JUST REALLY GAVE THE SENSE OF SOMEONE WHO WAS TRULY IN LOVE. (THE TEAM REALLY NAILED HER EXPRESSION & ACTION, GOD REALLY GOOD JOB ON THAT)

THE MOMENT SHE GAVE THE FLOWER BROOCH IS MY FAVORITE. WHEN SHE MADE BOG SOFTEN UP BECAUSE OF IT, IT WAS JUST SO ADORABLE. BECAUSE SHE JUST STARED AT HIM SINCERELY, AND WHEN HE SAID “I don’t…” SLIGHTY, HE LOOKED TOUCHED FOR SOMEONE TO ACTUALLY CARED FOR HIM FOR THE FIRST TIME. BOTH WERE TOO ADORABLE AT THAT TIME. AND THE MOMENT BOG SAID, “I… actually like this one” when Marianne stepped on it, WAS TOTALLY VERY ADORABLE TOO.

ALSO THE MOMENT SHE ACTUALLY LISTENED WHEN BOG TOLD HER TO STOP SINGING. IT WAS LIKE, SHE ACTUALLY RESPECTED HIM. TOTALLY HOW SOMEONE WHO’S IN LOVE WITH YOU WOULD DO.

EVEN IT WAS ONLY LOVE BY THE POTION, IT WAS REALLY DEPICTED PURE & SINCERE. I REALLY ADORE THOSE MOMENTS.
