All characters are self-insert characters. They are you a little to the left, or a particular piece of you dialed up to 11, or the you that you would have been if the path of your life had angled just slightly differently, or you if you never learned this one important thing.

Every character is part of you, but more than that every character starts with a piece of you, big or small, it’s you in one way or another at the beginning. There’s nothing wrong with that. In fact it’s essential. That seed of you, that lives in them, it’s what gives them life, breath and blood and bone. And then you tend it, growing it, shaping them along paths you could never have walked nor imagined for yourself. Until they become someone else entirely. A wholly fictional character. But also you, a little bit, somewhere in there in the heart of themselves.

Every character is a self-insert character. It’s only a matter of degrees how much of yourself there is in them when you finally put them out into the world. Stop worrying so much about self-inserts. Worry more about putting that little you into a story that will shape them into a big, beautiful character.

3… 2… 1… GO!

Make a to-do list
Write it down! You’ll know what you want to achieve, what you need to get done. That way you can work task by task and check things off.

  • Prioritize and break it down — larger tasks can be extremely overwhelming, so that shit break it down.
  • It’s easier to prioritize what to do now vs. later.
  • It makes it less daunting, more achievable and manageable.
  • Avoid: Overwhelming yourself, don’t stress yourself out about all the things you need to get done. Just write it down and don’t think about it until you’re actually working on it.

Why do you want to do it
What’s the reason behind it? Use it as fuel to motivate you! It’s good to focus on the good feelings when you achieve something, how completing a task makes you feel!

  • What are you gaining from it?
  • Is it to get the grades you want or require?
  • Is it for a career you’re trying to get?
  • Give yourself a reason!
  • Avoid: Being unrealistic, feeling like you have to be perfect. You just work on being you!

Start with something small
If you’re feeling frozen, start with something small to get the ball rolling!

  • Make your bed, have breakfast, check your emails!
  • You’ll feel like you’ve already accomplished something and it will give you the boost you need to kickstart on your major tasks!
  • Avoid: Getting caught up in all the little things, at some point you have to make the switch — priorities!

Touch it once
Aim to at least touch each task on your list once!

  • Take 2 minutes to get started, who knows, once you’ve started you might end up finishing the entire thing!
  •  At least if you just start it, you’ve already gotten somewhere.
  • If you keep doing that, you’ll eventually slowly progress each task!
  • Avoid: Only spending the minimum time on all tasks then thinking, ‘oh, I’ve touched each one, I can go have the rest of the day off’… NO! Go back and do it again, and try stick to one for awhile! But don’t forget to take breaks!

Have the correct mindset
Have you ever asked someone ‘how do you find the time to…’, well it’s all about utilizing the time you have.

  • Use your time in productive ways — listen to book whilst you shower, revise your notes while you catch up on your favourite tv shows!
  • Just do it — just start, once you’ve started you’re halfway there. Plus, you’ll thank yourself later!
  • Be easy on yourself — don’t feel bad about yourself, if you’ve procrastinated all day so what. Think of it as you needed some downtime for yourself. Go into tomorrow with goals you want to achieve and if you feel tempted to procrastinate, take a moment to think of why it’s important for you to get it done.
  • Make studying fun — treat yourself on your accomplishments, study in groups, listen to music, make your notes look fantastic, just whatever!
  • Be optimistic — instead of saying ‘I think and I hope’ say ‘I can and I will’.
  • Avoid: All negativity, you don’t need it. You know what you’re capable of so what’s stopping you?

Analyze your lifestyle habits
Look at your lifestyle as a whole. The decisions you’re making can actually affect your productivity level.

  • Are you getting enough sleep? This is a MAJOR priority not matter what.
  • Try going to sleep earlier and wake up earlier — by getting a good nights sleep you’ll feel refreshed, motivated and like you’re ready to achieve more of your tasks.
  • The food you’re eating, water you’re drinking — is there enough nutrients to fuel your body? By fueling your body with good, healthy foods you’ll get good outcomes.
  • We need to fuel our bodies so we function properly, don’t become fatigued and are able to excrete all the toxins from our bodies.
  • How can you expect your body to be productive for you if you’re not treating it well? Take care of yourself!
  • Avoid: Going to sleep late and straining your body. Don’t stay up late on social media, and I know you want to catch up on your fave tv shows but we all know how good sleep is!

Sheepishly, Jungkook smiles and rubs the back of his neck. “Yeah, sorta.”

At his nonchalance, you lightly smack his chest; it’s not like he’s going to feel anything if you straight out punch him anyway. “He’s totally right!”

anonymous asked:

Okay I need to ask. Why do YOU write?

I grew up surrounded by words, quite literally. By the time I was six months old my parents had taped words to every surface in the house, so the walls said “wall” the window said “window” and so on so forth. I still don’t know how they managed to get the cat involved but some things are meant to be wondered at.

But for the next six years the world was covered in words, as first I learned to read, and then my brother. I dare say if you move some furniture in my parents house to this day you will find a faded piece of paper that says “shelf” or “bookcase” on it. It was a sad day when they were taken down, they were like old friends. But by then the magic had already worked. I was able to look at the world and see words, whether they were printed there or not.

I was four when I sat down to consciously write my first story. I remember it vividly because I had my bright yellow Cadburys Caramel mug, that had the purple flowing font on the side with the bunny rabbit lady on it. It was filled with “baby tea”— mostly hot milk with a splash of tea from the pot to give it color— and I was holding it in both hands, sitting at the little “art” table dad had built for me in the corner so I had a place to sit and scribble that wasn’t the walls. Contemplating my next masterpiece I looked around the room for inspiration. Would it be an exploration of color through pinky finger painting only? Or would it be the greatest macaroni interpretation of a dog we’d ever seen? Sadly we’ll never know how this might have worked out, as at that very moment, mum came in holding a crystal mobile and hung it up on the window sill. This in turn had the effect of creating a living, dancing rainbow in the living room, and something in my brain short fused.

That was the day I learned the word “iridescent”. It was like learning the language of angels.

After that I was always scribbling something. My school books were a mess of words, crammed into margins and on back pages. I was always in trouble for letting my mind “wander into whimsy.” Once I got a report card that said “fantastical leanings towards flights of fancy.” It was meant as criticism, but dad still has it framed in the office.

Then there came the time a few years later when I was reading the Hobbit with dad, and I turned to him quite seriously and asked “where are all the girl hobbits?” and dad hemmed and hawed before eventually telling me “they’re in another book, darling…having their own adventure…” and I accepted this and settled back down to let him finish the chapter. He probably thought I forgot about it until that weekend I marched up to the Librarian and asked for “the girl hobbit book please”, which was met with much confusion and my dad rushing over to tell me they probably wouldn’t have it yet because it was very rare. A few weeks later, dad handed me something. It was sheaves of paper bound together by string. It was, he told me, a very exclusive copy of the girl hobbit book.

I still have it somewhere, back home. Probably on a shelf somewhere that still says “shelf”.

And sweet, naive thing that I was, I believed him. It wasn’t until later on and someone else popped my bubble, that I realized dad, not Tolkien, had written it. And oh I was furious, furious because the story had been so good and because dad had lied about not writing it himself. But that small bubbling anger was nothing compared to the heat inside my brain when my dad confessed he’d tried without much success to find books I might like with girls in them. All the heroes were boys, you see. It made me quite tearful actually, that no one had ever thought that someone like me could go off on an adventure and save the world, when I knew it to be a blatant lie. Old Mrs McDougall across the street had been a land girl and saved a man shot down from his spitfire. Mrs Mitchell had been the emergency coordinator and saved people from burning buildings when the Nazis bombed the shipyards, and her skin was all bubbled and tightly pulled across the left side of her face because of it and her hands didn’t quite work because she’d gripped burning metal to try and free the men inside. Those, were heroes. But we never learned about them at school. We only learned about kings and tyrants and the kind of heavily filtered history that lead you to believe that women were in there somewhere, but only in the same sense that a wall has paint on it.

And now my books, my lovely wonderful books, where you could travel through space and time or climb up volcanoes to throw rings inside and save the world…those wonderful colorful worlds that spoke the language of angels, were just the same.

I was ready to cry and be defeated about it until dad, raising his eyebrows at me and offering me a notebook, said, “well, maybe someone ought to write one.”

And you likely know the rest by now. But in short I write because there are stories to be told. I write because it’s the closest I’ll ever be to how the word iridescent feels. I look at the world and I see words, dancing like rainbows, singing like angels.

There’s words everywhere. I’m just scribbling them down.

Choose life
Choose Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and hope that someone, somewhere cares
Choose looking up old flames, wishing you’d done it all differently
And choose watching history repeat itself
Choose your future
Choose reality TV, slut shaming, revenge porn
Choose a zero hour contract, a two hour journey to work
And choose the same for your kids, only worse, and smother the pain with an unknown dose of an unknown drug made in somebody’s kitchen
And then… take a deep breath
You’re an addict, so be addicted
Just be addicted to something else
Choose the ones you love
Choose your future
Choose life

The luck puck keeps going missing from Bitty’s cork board. At first, the lost puck inspires a wave of panic, but after meticulous destruction of every piece of furniture (followed by a hasty repair), the puck turns up at the bottom of Lardo’s laundry hamper. She’s been in Cambridge all weekend- her alibi is solid, and a shroud of suspicion hovers over the haus.

It repeats; the puck disappears from the board overnight, turning up hours or days later hidden away in a linen closet, or tossed out the back door, or hidden behind the heater in the basement. Everyone claims their innocence, and even the tadpoles are subpoenaed to hockey court. After grueling interrogation by Lardo and a special appearance by Shitty, the day ends in a hung jury; no one’s alibis are solid, and no one has an obvious motive.

The perpetrator is emboldened. Despite the installations of guards posted in the vicinity (a webcam and a photo of Bad Bob Zimmermann looking disappointed) the puck vanishes in the night. Not even Ransom argues when Holster calls in Samwell’s resident exorcist. The ceremony doesn’t stop the puck from vanishing, but now the ghosts lash out against their would-be vanquishers by cutting out the music during kegsters and playing Informer by Snow on loop.

What the Signs Need to Hear

Aries: That single homework assignment you forgot to turn in? Those tests you just couldn’t seem to pass? You’ll wake up 10 years from now and wonder why you ever even worried in the first place

Taurus: Of course it’s ok to be cheerful, to smile, to pretend that everything’s fine. But it’s also ok to break down, to cry, to feel inadequate because that only reminds us of our humanity

Gemini: It’s ok to compromise, but only do it when you can. If you believe in something, stand by it! Somewhere along the way you’ll discover someone who’s on the same boat

Cancer: Don’t worry so much about finding yourself so quickly, one day you’ll eventually realize who you really are and come to appreciate yourself as much as I do

Leo: Insecurities, no matter how much others try to trivialize them, always affect us in a big way don’t they? But even with all of them, I wouldn’t consider you any less of a person

Virgo: Never settle for what could have been, you’re worth more than second place

Libra: Although it’s ok to listen to others, always know yourself first. What you want to become and what other people want you to become are two completely different realities

Scorpio: If you don’t succeed now, succeed later. Try again. There’s no shame in that, and I believe in you more than you’ll ever care to know

Sagittarius: Don’t feel like there’s too much to do and not enough time to do it. Catch your breath. It may not look it but it’s going to be alright

Capricorn: It’s not always about numbers and deadlines and quantifiable competence. Stripped of these things you still matter, you are valued, and you are loved

Aquarius: Let your ideas flourish, don’t keep it all to yourself. Sure, there will always be people who don’t care, but your voice matters, and anyone who says it doesn’t is dead wrong, make some noise

Pisces: Stop feeling sorry for things that were never your fault, and apologizing for problems that you never caused, the things that you’ve had to go through are not always who you are

Age 3

My earliest memory was my mother crying. At the time i didn’t understand why. But I remember feeling a sharp pain in my wrist, So I went to show her. I still remember the look of horror in her eyes. She pulled me into her lap and cradled me. That’s when she began to cry, rocking me back and forth saying I’m so sorry y/n over and over again.

Age 4

It was my 4th birthday party, everyone had left. I was still getting sad looks but didn’t understand why. I got continuous I’m so sorry and oh you poor thing. At the time is still had no idea what they were talking about. All i knew was that the two letters on my wrist had a dark line through them. And i remember the sadness i felt looking at them, even though i didn’t know why.

Age 6

That’s the first time i saw him. My mom was doing my hair for school. And there he was, black hair, big eyes, bright smile. He was looking at me through the mirror and waved. Without hesitation i waved back. My mother narrowed her eyes and said “Y/n why are you waving at yourself?” i remember him giggling as i said “i don’t know i was bored.” she had raised an eyebrow but continued brushing my hair.

Age 9

I remember was alone in my room, watching cartoons and coloring in a notebook. ‘Hey Y/N!” i remember jumping and looking around. That’s when i spotted the boy in my mirror again. The only difference was he seemed a year or two older than me. He was the same boy from when i was littler.

“You can talk?” he looked at me and nodded, ‘Of course! But you are the only one who can hear me! Would you like me to explain?” I remember still being surprised but nodding.

“Well, the world is full of soulmates, you know that much right?i nodded.Well i’m your soulmate, but you see when i was little, i got really sick and died.” i remember my eyes widening at that i still feel all the emotions of that day ten years later.

“So” he continued. “That’s why you have a line through my initials. But don’t worry i still have yours!” i smiled at him. Unaware of what this sad feeling in my heart was. I was only 9 years old when i had my heart broken.

Age 14

I spent hours every staring in the mirror talking to Hoseok. I never told him how sad I was that he couldn’t be with me, I didn’t want him to feel bad. He couldn’t have controlled what happen to him.

So what is the after life like? He pondered that question for a moment before responding well I haven’t gone there yet, I was set to be your guardian angel, until you pass away one day too. Then I’ll go to the afterlife.

Age 17 turning 18

Happy birthday baby! I laughed at him thank you  it was nice that I could still have a relationship with him. But I wished he was here physically. I longed to hold his hand, to hug him, to kiss him.

It was my senior year of high school. I would be graduating in a few months. I never had a boyfriend, they all had their soulmate. Hobi had continuously told me that if I find someone who is in the same situation I’m in, and I have feelings for, go for it. He said he wants me to be happy. I told him with any luck I would never find someone like that. Little did I know.

Age 19 present day

Aww y/n you look gorgeous! I was finishing curling my hair and Hoseok was sitting on the bed behind me. At least that’s what it looked like in my mirror. God how I wished I could turn around and he would actually be there.

Thank you babe, I wish you were here with me ya know. I wish for that so much. His face softened and a sad smile crept up on his features. I wish I was with you too y/n, I am happy being with you this way and I want no need you to be happy. I nodded and gave him a sad smile.

I just wish you could be here Hoseok. I wiped away the tears slipping down my face. I wish I could be there to wipe your tears y/n. This wasn’t something that happens often, it’s just at times my sorrow was too much to bare.I continued to get ready, Hoseok distracting  me from my sadness with funny faces and jokes. I finished getting ready and placed

A soft kiss on the mirror. I’ll see when I’m home. He nodded and I left.

Today I was going down to my favorite cafe to meet up with a friend I had met online. His name was Yoongi, we aspired to be a rapper and we bonded over music. A passion of mine.

I made it down to the cafe at 10, we agreed on meeting at 10:15, I preferred to be early. I picked a table in the corner next to the window. There just so happened to be a window next to me and i smiled as I saw Hoseok.

At 10:20 Yoongi came walking through the doors. I knew it was him due to our Skype calls. I waved him in my direction and he smiled before heading over.  He took the seat in front of me and smiled nice to finally meet you in person Y/N. i nodded and smiled extending my hand to shake his.

It was a formal gesture i never really used, i just had an odd feeling i should. Our hands clasped and that’s when i noticed it. The initials on his wrist had a line through them, just like mine. He seemed to notice mine as well. Because we were both silently looking at each other’s wrists until a waitress came over to greet us.

We were both pulled from our thoughts by her words “Hey! What can i get you two?” we both quickly ordered and watched her retreat behind the counter before making eye contact again. “ Your soulmate died too?” he nodded slowly “yeah, i never met them, they died when i was little.”

My eyes widened at that “mine too! Hey odd question but do you maybe still see her when you look in a..” at the same time we said “mirror.” he nodded frantically “Yes, and i can talk to her, she is sitting right there.” he pointed to the mirror where i saw Hoseok sitting, but he was conversing with someone i couldn’t see. I looked back at Yoongi and smiled. “So i’m not the only one it seems.” he nodded at that.

We spent the next 3 hours laughing and sharing our experiences. And without realizing we had begun flirting with each other. It was a little after 1 in the afternoon when we left the cafe. “Shall we go somewhere else?” i smiled at his question “Would you like to go to the pier?” he smiled “If it means spending more time with you then of course.”

We went to the pier and spent the rest of the day taking, eating food, and playing the carnival games. And finally the sun was beginning to set. “Y/n do you want to go on the ferris wheel? It will have a gorgeous view of the sun set.” i smiled “that sounds wonderful Yoongi.”

We got onto the Ferris wheel and it began its ascent up. We sat in silence watching the sun slowly set. I could see Hoseok in the window reflection and he had the biggest smile on his face. I chuckled as he gave me a thumbs up.

The Ferris wheel stopped at the top and that’s when it happened. “Hey y/n look here for a second.” i turned my head and was surprised as Yoongi pressed his lips to mine. I was surprised, both by the suddenness and how right it felt.

I melted into the kiss, he was so warm and soft, and tasted like the ice cream we had earlier. My very first kiss. The ferris wheel began to move once more and he pulled away. A bright blush staining his and my cheeks. “That was my first kiss” we said this simultaneously and chuckled.

Before we could say anything else i felt an odd tingling on the wrist opposite to the one with Hoseok’s initials. I looked down at my wrist and to my shock, two initials were written there. M.Y Min Yoongi. My head shot up and i looked to see my initials written on Yoongi’s wrist as well. “How is this even possible?” i looked up at the window to see Hoseok with the biggest smile on his face and he nodded at me with a wink.

“Let’s not question it.” and with that i finally felt at peace.

Surprise - you get a bonus Hiveswap developer interview today!

Hello there Hiveswap and Homestuck fans, Ash here! Now, I know what you’re thinking: “What madness is this? Ash said there’d only be *one* Hiveswap development team interview per week going forward! And he said they would be on WEDNESDAYS! This isn’t a Wednesday!”

Right you are, and that’s exactly why surprises are so much fun! Now, last week I mentioned that the next interviewee would be our superstar UI designer and all-around graphics guy Tauhid. Our interview with him will still be going live this week on Thursday, so definitely look forward to that, but today we’ve got another talented team member in the hot seat: Tom Hunt, our lead programmer and the prime coding whiz in charge of things on the technical side of things! Take it away, Tom!

Introduce yourself to the fans! What is your specific role on the Hiveswap team?

Hi, I’m Tom. I make stuff in Unity, which is a cross-platform 3D game engine and editor that can make all kinds of things - including the very 2D game you’re here to read about! My company neocade and I are working freelance on Hiveswap, with me as the lead programmer. Mostly, I direct and coordinate the team of programmers and quality assurance (QA) testers that are putting this game together. Sometimes I also write code.

When and how did you get your start on the Hiveswap project?

Sometime late last year, I was looking for a gig. At the time, What Pumpkin Games was looking for an additional Unity programmer. A mutual business contact introduced us via email, and we went from there.

Tell us a little bit about your career background! How did you get your start in programming? Do you have any advice for others looking to enter this field?

I’ve been programming computers since I was a little kid. I got my first actual programming job about a month after graduating high school, and did that for a bit during breaks while I was in college. It wasn’t very exciting, had nothing to do with video games, and didn’t pay a whole lot, but it sure beat taping up boxes of hot dogs in a factory all day.

The only advice I can really give to someone looking to enter the video games field is to just start making video games. Game development tools are more readily available now than they’ve ever been.

Also make lots of friends, especially with people who can draw or write or anything. If you live near a city, there is probably at least one game dev meetup somewhere - go to those and meet people. Get over whatever shyness you have, because almost every game that ever gets made is the result of a lot of teamwork.

We’re making a video game, so of course the question must be asked: what’s your favorite game of all time?

I played the heck out of Super Metroid back in the day. There’s something about that game. I would do speedruns of it - so now, every time I go back and play it, it all just feels so fluid. There’s a fairly robust set of inputs mapped out in a way that makes sense to my fingers. The entire game itself is fairly tightly bounded - a complete playthrough can take less than 90 minutes - so in a way, this beautifully detailed, explorable world is also actually kind of respectful of my time (more so than, say, a game like Skyrim, which is almost always a multi-hour/day/week commitment).

What games are you playing currently (if any)?

To be perfectly honest, I have not been playing NEARLY enough video games lately. That being said, aside from Hiveswap, I am currently into little mobile action puzzlers that I can play on the bus. Super Hexagon and Desert Golf are great. Just tried Polyforge this morning, too; that was pretty fun.

A lot of my friends are playing Breath of the Wild. I really want to just go get a Switch and play that, but I’m afraid of that eating up my time like Skyrim did.

Are there any games that you currently use or have used as inspiration for your own programming work here on Hiveswap, or just in general?

Not really - I tend to look at each technical problem on its own merits. The creative side of things is all handled by the What Pumpkin folks. I don’t really get involved with that too much. I just work to make sure their vision is implemented, however that needs to be done.

Imagine you’ve been given an unlimited budget and time frame to make your dream game. Tell us (briefly!) about that game in terms of genre, style, platforms, etc. Is it an original game or a long-desired sequel to an existing game? Go crazy!

Given an unlimited budget and time to work on a “dream game,” I’d have to go with some kind of deeply-simulated, massively multiplayer VR thing.

What’s your workstation like?

As a programmer, I like my workstations to be fast, reliable, and quiet. I always max out the RAM on a new machine if I can, because disk thrashing is just annoying as all hell. I’ve been really digging M.2 drives lately. Also, having extra monitors is always nice.

Do you like to listen to any particular kinds of music while you work? If so, tell us about it!

Mostly instrumental electronic music. Sometimes I’ll throw on some classical. Video game soundtracks are usually a pretty good bet. I can’t listen to anything with spoken words in it, though - too distracting.

Do you have a personal message you’d like to relay to all the Homestuck and Hiveswap fans out there?

Thank you all for being so patient with this project!

Thank you, Tom! Well folks, I hope you’ve enjoyed this week’s surprise bonus interview, and remember to check back on Thursday for yet another behind-the-scenes peek into Hiveswap’s development! As I teased last week, our very own Tauhid Bondia will be on hand to talk about his indispensable (my word, not his!) graphics and user interface design work on Hiveswap. See you then, everyone!

The drunk reveal no one asked for and the cracker shenanigans

Okay, so look at this. It is 8000+ words. Fucking hell. All the thanks to @lunian who is the mastermind behind this gem. Let’s roll. Also, it isn’t proof read cause seriously guys, who has time to proofread 21 pages of crack. Sorry for any gramamr mistake

Marinette looked around the living room, from the music system to the table covered with bowl and bags off what could easily be all the snacks found on the French market. Marinette wasn’t especially in the mood to party, she would have rather stayed at home and finish some designs, especially after the fact that there was an akuma that morning that managed to ruin her sleeping late plans. But Alya insisted, saying there wil be amiliar faces too. And Marinette totally didn’t come because Alya promised Nino is brinign her a certain blond someone who just arrived back to Paris from one year exchange in Milano. Totally not. She was perfectly content with having a friendly conversation with Adrien after only seeing him through Skype for a year. Until he walked in the room. And Marinette finally understood just how low quality the skype camera was.

Cheater? (Reggie x Reader)

Request: could you maybe do a reggie and reader imagine where they have been dating for years but he cheats on her and they break up he tries to win her back but she keeps shooting him down but she has a bad fight with her mom and she doesn’t know where else to go to so she goes to reggie’s and he comforts her and they talk and get back together

You couldn’t get the image out of your head. The thought of Reggie kissing someone that wasn’t you made you sick to your stomach. It was a painful reminder why you didn’t go to party in the first place. Nothing good ever happens when teens have alcohol.  It what ended your relationship with him, you couldn’t trust him anymore.

“Babe I’m sorry I didn’t mean it, I was drunk. I didn’t know what I was doing”  Reggie begged you and tears were forming in his eyes. He didn’t want all of the years that you guys been together to end over some stupid drunken mistake that he had made.

“Please stop Reggie, it’s too late we’re over” You said as tears were falling down your cheeks, you loved him but you couldn’t have him anymore. You felt like all of your air was getting pulled out of you as you try to breath through the tears.

“We can fix it Y/N, don’t give up on us, not yet” Reggie pleaded he was losing you, something that he never thought was possible and it was his own fault.

“You already did Reggie” You let out while your voice was cracking “You broke us”

You sat down at you lunch table, facing away from the football team so you didn’t have to look at Reggie. Betty looked at you as you sat down on side of her, you never sat there. But it came to her mind when she heard the football team laughing from behind her. Reggie, was why you were sitting there.

“You okay?” Betty asked as you finally settle down in your place. You phoned her the night you guys broke up so she knew what had happened.

“Peachy” You said as you took a bite of your sandwich, listening to Veronica and Kevin conversion.

“So Y/N” Veronica started to say as she turned her head to face you “What’s with Reggie and you?” You looked at her figuring Betty already told her but you guessed not.

“Nothing” Veronica leaned over the table and teased

“Come on now Y/N, you don’t just break up with someone like Reggie for no reason. So what is it? Did you start a new high school affair? You lost your breath at Veronica’s last few words. It was hitting to close to home for you. Pushing your tray forward, you quickly got up grabbing your things. Not wanting to let anyone see your tears fell, you ran away to go hide somewhere in the school.

“I told you not to say anything Veronica” Betty shouted just enough so them at the table could heard it.

“I didn’t think much of it, what happened.”

“Reggie cheated on her V” Betty told her as she rolled her eyes, leaving to go find you in the school. When you ran out you didn’t see Reggie watching you. He knew you were gone to cry about what he assumed to be him. He knew you better than anyone, one little look at you he could tell that you were broken. He was the one that caused it and now he wanted to be the one to fix it.

“Hey can we talk?” You heard a voice said as you put your books away. You looked up and came face to face with the last person you wanted to see, Reggie.

“There’s nothing to talk about” You told him as you shut your locker. You looked down the hallway looking for Betty, so you could leave. You didn’t think you could look at Reggie yet, it hasn’t been that long. Plus you were sacred that if you did, you would fall into his arms since you miss him so much.

“Us. That’s what we need to do, not just ignore each other” Reggie said as he ran his fingers through his hair. He was frustrated with himself mostly, knowing that he wouldn’t be in this mess if it wasn’t for himself.

“There isn’t an us anymore Reggie, get over it because I have” You left Reggie standing there as you saw Betty so you could go home. You knew he knew you were lying after all no one knew you better than Reggie did.

“THEY NEED TO BE BETTER” Your mother shouted as you guys and your father stood in the living room.

“Mom their fine, one B isn’t going to hurt” You said. Your parent or more like your mom have been yelling at you over the past hour for the B that you got biology. It wasn’t hard to bring it back up and you knew that but your mother wouldn’t listen.

“DON’T TALK BACK TO ME YOUNG LADY” Your mother said as she made her way closer to you. “You live under my house and as long as you do there will be no talking back. B’s aren’t for this family, if you want to be something in life honey you have to get A’s. Your pretty face can only take you so far in life. Men aren’t going to stick around once it disappears for a women who get’s B’s.”

“Honey I thin-” Your dad try to cut in but your mother kept talking not wanting to hear his opinions. It was normal thing for your family, your dad was just to sacred too stand up to your mother.

“You heard me, you will be nothing in life if you keep acting like this. Leave, go on I can’t bare to look at you anymore. You’re a sorry excuse for a daughter.” When you heard your mother’s words you ran out of the house. Tears were flowing but it was nothing new to you lately that’s all you ever seem to be at. You needed somewhere to stay for the night but most importantly you needed someone to talk to you. You never really told your friends about how strict your mother was, only Reggie knew. At this point you didn’t care what had happened to just wanted to see him

Standing on his front porch you knocked, hoping that he was going to be the one to open it. You didn’t want his parents to see you looking like a mess. They would wonder what happened and would start asking questions.

“Y/N” Reggie said as he opened the door taking in your appearance. Your hair was out a place and you had been crying. He could tell from your bloodshot eyes and your wet cheeks. Not saying anything he opened his arms letting you fall into him. You cried into his chest as he carried you up to his room. He knew it was something with your mom, you wouldn’t just come to fix what he broke. He held you for what felt like hours, comforting you making sure you were alright. Not asking questions since he knew you would talk when ready. It take didn’t much longer for your tears to stop falling. You finally lifted your head up from Reggie chest and looks into his brown eyes.

“It’s my mom” Reggie nodded he knew it was but he let you keep talking “I was having trouble with biology and ended up getting a B. Mom wasn’t happy when she saw the mark and started to yell at me. Saying things like I’m just a pretty face and will never make it in life.” You rolled you eyes at your mom stupidly. “It’s one mark that she can’t see pass, she told me to leave so I did so we could both cool off.” Knowing that was the best option, you and your mother were too much alike to be together when mad.

“Not that I mine having you here or anything but why me? I thought you hated me” Reggie let out nervously, not knowing if he wanted your true answer. You smiled

“I could never hate you Reggie, I love you but it’s just so hard” You said leaning on his side. “Love is hard and I didn’t really know how to react. You kiss her and I..I know you didn’t mean it I was there, you were so drunk. I think when it happened I was lost, I felt so many emotions. I hated you for a moment but I couldn’t stay mad when I saw the regret and guilt in you eyes even as drunk as you were. I love you Reggie that’s not going to change, I just needed time to think and get through it all”

“I love you too, I’m sorry again for the pain I caused. It really broke my heart knowing I was the one who did that.”

“I know so ummm would you try again with me?” Reggie looked at you shocked not expecting that from you.

“Yeah I would love too I promise nothing is going to happen again”

“The only thing is we’re going to start from beginning I got to gain your trust back.”

“Yes anything babe” Reggie had a grin across his face, he’s never felt happier to have a second chance before in his life. You smiled once again at him before you leaned back onto his bed.

“Lay with me for awhile?”

“Of course love” So there you two stayed cuddle into each other’s arms. Both of you guys were happy to be back with one another. You both drifted off from the comfortable silence in the room. It was the first full night sleep you guys had since the break up. You guys were finally back where you belonged. And you couldn’t wait to stay there forever.

Shall I expose some ENTP secrets???

Don’t tell me what to do, I’m going to do it anyway.

1. We have no idea what’s going on. Like, ever. Not even one time.

2. We’re damn good at making you think that we know what’s going on, and that it was our plan all along.

3. We’re so frickin loyal it’s not even funny. We play it off like we don’t care about anyone, but we would legit do absolutely ANYTHING for those we care about.

4. If we’re trying to be extra funny, you know something’s up. We’re most likely covering up our emotions with a good ole unhealthy dose of sarcasm and depreciating humor.

5. Our secrets have secrets. We may seem like open books, but believe me. There’s sooo much more going on under the surface.

6. We absolutely need time for ourselves to think. We’re the kind of extroverts that you may have to drag to a party, but we’ll be the life of the party when we get there.

7. We. Need. Attention. For everything we do. Even though we give off this sort of “I don’t care what you think” vibe, we need constant validation, even just someone saying “oh cool”. We thrive to impress people, no matter how hard to believe that is.

8. We feel stress just the same as any other type. We just choose to bury it deep deep down where no one can see it, and let it blow up in our faces later.

9. I didn’t talk enough about validation. We have this hunger to do something and to be someone. We need to make a difference, somehow, somewhere.

10. We hate it when people have us figured out. We hate it even more when people only think that they have us figured out, but they’ve got us all wrong.

11. We hate to be ignored. Like, seriously. If we ask you for something, which is something we very rarely do, we expect you to take the time to listen to us.

12. We are the most caring assholes you’ll ever meet. We love to make people happy, but we’ll grumble about it the whole time.

13. We hate being overestimated. Underestimate us, please. We get strength from being the underdog. If we feel like you’re putting too much on us, we’ll just give up because we don’t see that it’s worth it to fail.

14. Challenge us. For the love of God, give us something to argue about. Complacency is a danger to us ENTPs, and it can lead us to very bad habits. We need someone or something that’ll spark our interest, or we’ll go insane.

15. We’re really full of mushy gushy stuff on the inside. No one’s supposed to know that.

16. We feel overwhelmed a lot, and when we do, you need to give us space to sort things out. Like, two minutes. Please.

17. We lie. Constantly. About everything. Watch your back.

18. We deserve respect. With everything that we do for the people around us, we deserve at least a little bit.

Ok, rant over. Sorry for exposing us for what we really are. Ciao

The Hated Women of Fandom

Mary Watson wakes in a white room, sitting in a plastic chair. She’s surrounded by girls and women, some of whom are drinking heavily. There’s a banner hanging overhead, which reads Female Characters Anonymous. A redheaded teenage girl pats her on the knee.

“Don’t be frightened. We’ve been expecting you.”

“Where am I?” Mary asks.

The girl raises an eyebrow. “You don’t know?” She spreads her arms out. “This is the place where good female characters come to die.”

Mary frowns. “Oh, because I died in my show?”

Everyone laughs.

“Honey, I wish!” A woman with dark eyeliner calls out.

“Ignore Lexa. She’s still angry about the bullet thing.” The teenage girl looks Mary up and down. “Then again, you would know something about that, wouldn’t you?”

“About what?”

“Oh, you know. Being killed off for drama. Or in your case, man pain.”

“Don’t get me started on that,” a woman to Mary’s right grumbles. She’s got bright red hair and a shirt that says Supernatural: Was it ever a good show?

“That’s Charlie. She had a good run until the writers didn’t know what to do with her.”

Mary, who’s starting to get an idea about where she is, shakes her head with a little laugh. “No, you must be mistaken. I was a good, strong character. I don’t belong here”

A few chuckles at that. Someone mutters, “I’ve heard that one before.”

The teenage girl gives her a sympathetic smile. “Have you taken a look at the fandom lately? They hate you. Always have.”

Mary frowns. “But–”

“I know it must be hard to understand at first, but let’s face it. You were an imperfect female character. You had flaws and a dark side, which would have been fine, if you hadn’t posed a threat to the Main Ship.”

A cold wind passes through the room. Everyone shudders.

“The what?”

“Johnlock. The ship of an era.”

“Oh, that,” Mary says with a smile. “That’s perfectly fine! There’s no reason to hate me just because you ship Johnlock.”

“No, it’s not that. Some of the fandom, certainly not all of them, hate you because in their eyes, you’re the thing that’s blocking them from easy access to their ship. Trust me, I have experience with this.”

Mary squints at the girl. “Who are you?”

The girl smiles. “I’m Ginny Weasley.”

“Oh. Oh, dear.”

“Yup. I’m a bit of an old-timer around here. Boy, I cannot even begin to tell you the number of Drarry fanfics wherein I either cheat on Harry with Dean, turn into a monstrous bitch, or simply disappear altogether.”

“Don’t forget the ones where you start dating Neville for no reason!” A woman shouts out.

Ginny laughs a bit. “Those are usually alright. I have to go somewhere, right?”

Mary is starting to panic a bit. “I…I don’t think I understand.”

Ginny nods. “Don’t worry. There’s someone whom I think you should meet.” She pulls Mary to her feet and leads her towards a dark corner in the room. “This girl hasn’t been here for as long as me, but she’s certainly suffered worse. She not only got in the way of a Main Ship, but a canon Main Ship. And a straight one, at that. She’s been shat on, villainized, ignored, pretty much everything in the book. A true warrior of her time.”

Mary starts to get nervous as they approach this girl. She’s seated at a bar, head down on the counter, twirling a paint covered finger around a whiskey glass.

When they’ve reached her, Mary clears her throat. “My name is–”

“I know who you are.”

“Oh. Well, who are you?”

After a moment’s pause, the girl downs the whiskey in one gulp, and slams the glass on the counter. She slowly turns to fix Mary with a battle-hardened stare. “My name, is Rachel. Elizabeth. Dare.”

Funny facts about the Icelandic language

I get A LOT of questions about Iceland and what it’s like living here. So today I have decided to not answer any of the useful things I could tell you and just make a big shitpost about the Icelandic language. 🔆

Pika- Okay. So keep in mind that Pikachu in Pokémon quite commonly says pika. Like a lot. Pokémon is/was on TV here just like most other countries. Okay so, wanna know what píka means in Ielandic. Vagina. Not even kidding a little. ⚡️🐱

Bra- No, bra does not mean anything related to underwear of any kind. According to us, it’s the sound that ducks make 🦆

Hjúkrunarfræðingur- I know you’re probably thinking that this must mean something very smart and complicated. Nope. This unneccessarily long ass word just means nurse. Yep. 👩🏻‍⚕️

Strætóstoppistöð- another unneccasserily long word. Simply means “bus stop” 👐🏻

Leðurblökumaðurinn- In almost every country in the world Batman is just called Batman or something very similar. Yeah.. we didn’t get the note. Leðurblökumaðurinn it is. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Kind- it does not mean anything related to kindness or any other emotional expression. It means sheep. And according to us it does not tell you “baah” it says “me”. If it happens two times it makes “meme”. Isn’t that just wonderful? 🐑

Geirvarta- it means nipple. The weird thing is that it is made from two words “Geir” which is a pretty common male name here, and “varta” which means “wart”. Imagine if the word for nipple would be “JasonPimple”?! Poor Geir..

Not language related but: we have an app here where you bump your phones together to see if you are related before you have sex with someone. You may have heard this somewhere before but I am here to confirm that this is true. There are only 300.000 people in the entire country so accidental incest is very much a possibility. ⚠️

In Iceland we don’t have just one Santa, no,we have 13. And yes they bring you small gifts each of the thirteen days leading to christmas, but they also are known for stealing hot-dogs and candles, eating all your skyr (fancy yoghurt), slamming doors, and other not so bad but mildly annoying things. But their mom is a hideous troll lady that lives in the mountains and eats children. Yikes.. 🎄💀

We have at least two letters that no other country in the world uses: ð (capital Ð) and þ (capital Þ) and also other rare letters that are only used here and in other Scandinavian countries: ö (Ö) and æ (Æ).

To make the sounds of Ð and Þ put your tongue between your teeth and blow. Softly for ð and hard for Þ (should sound like Th in Thor/thing/thunder/etc)

Hope you enjoyed 🤜🏻🤛🏻

I had a dream that someone
asked me to describe love and I didn’t
talk about you. That terrifies me.
To think that somewhere out there
in the future might be a girl
who doesn’t think about your lips
when she bites into pitted fruit.
I want to cry thinking about it, but
I also want to be her. I want to crawl
inside her chest and grow until I fit into
her. I want a future for myself where
I am the only one who haunts me.
