Truthfully, I have always been quite humbled by people who come up and say such lovely things and I’ve never really understood celebrities who find that annoying or who don’t like it or who aren’t gracious, because, to me, not only does it take a lot of courage to go up to someone but to have people affirm you in something that is truly your passion, it’s the best thing. To have people come up to you and say they appreciate your work or they love it, I don’t think it will ever get old.

Concerning the scene in Hell Bent, where Clara wraps her fingers around 12’s pinky: you might try googling "red string of fate" and seeing what you get, especially the references to the fated lovers being connected at the pinky. I wonder if Moffat was aware of this trope?

Well that is definitely interesting! I did indeed google and here’s the Wikipedia article on the topic. Moffat has shown himself to be well-versed in legends. However, the credit on this is likely to belong to Rachel Talalay the director. Moffat’s script (available for downloading on the BBC’s website) only describes Clara taking the Doctor’s hand. It may well have been Talalay who instructed Jenna to clasp the Doctor’s fingers in such a manner.
