Last night on “Late Night with Seth Meyers,” he had cartoonist / author Alison Bechdel on for an interview, followed by the performance of “Changing My Major” from Bechdel’s Broadway musical “Fun Home”.
It is a charming and touching song about lesbian longing from a gal who is just recognizing her orientation. Eventually I’ll find and share that clip, in the meanwhile here is Kristina Teschner performing “Changing My Major” with music by Jeanine Tesori.
Alison Bechdel is one of my heroes. I’ve always loved Dykes to Watch Out For and have read it for years. I haven’t ready graphic novel Fun Home yet but I just ordered it from the library. I did read her follow up graphic novel “Are You My Mother?” which is heavy but amazing.
My mum and dad have been drinking every single night this week
The day before yesterday, they were outside drinking
Yesterday, they were outside drinking
Today, they went out to the pub
Tomorrow, my dad says they are going out again
I’m so fucking done with this.
