for lack of knowledge my people perish

God almost killed Moses until Zipporah (his wife) performed their son’s circumcision (Exd 4). He had not circumcised his son as required in God’s covenant with Israel (Gen 17). Moses could not do as God asked him to do (deliver Israel from Egypt) until he had completely obeyed ALL the conditions of God’s covenant. We must read and study God’s Word for ourselves! Do not rely on your pastor to spoon-feed you, because we are all each accountable in following God’s ultimate will. He says, “My people perish from a lack of knowledge” (Hosea 4:6). It’s one thing to know your Bible, but it’s another thing to KNOW the God of the Bible! Moses quickly learned that disobeying God was even more dangerous than the Pharaoh. Jehovah God is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow (Heb 13:8). God is our Friend, but He is also our sovereign Lord.
