Happy 37th birthday, Christopher Whitelaw Pine! (August 26, 1980)
I’d rather stay in a nice hotel, get a massage, and spend the afternoon reading. But I was the good child who studied hard throughout school. There’s a part of me that’s been pushed down so long by the kid who obeys all the rules that to play absolute maniacs is fantastic.
I am critical of myself like everyone else. You go to a movie theater and you are forty feet high. I had bad skin as a teenager and I am a shy person, but I think I am in the perfect business to fight my insecurities. You have to learn to love yourself and say ‘I am pretty cool’ instead of being so critical. You can easily fall into the trap of doing that.
Happy 37th Birthday, Christopher Whitelaw Pine! [August 26, 1980]
In the industry you can certainly see how they always say fame makes you more of what you already were. So if you already had certain flavors inside you, fame is just going to bring that out of you. I’d like to believe before I ever started acting I had a pretty good head on my shoulders. You certainly, as a result of being in this industry, see people change for the negative. I won’t say I haven’t had little hiccups and pockets where you leave a scenario and you say, “Whoa, that wasn’t me.” It’s up to you to recalibrate and adjust and make sure it doesn’t continue down that road.
Happy birthday Percy!!! A super super rough sketch, just while I was listening to a podcast. It’s not clean at all but you get the point!!
Hope Seaweed Brain has a great birthday wherever the heck he is
‘I’m not ashamed of the parts of my youth that I’m still connected to, whether it’s cartoons or Disney World or Christmastime. I think they’re a real representation of my true self before the world had its impact on me.’
