Internet Yami-Ichi - New York

Translated as ‘Internet Black Market’, a special one-off event where artists sell internet-related products in a flea market is happening in New York in September:

The Internet Yami-Ichi (Internet Black Market)* in New York is a free-to-attend flea market event where people gather and exchange “Internet-ish” things in real life. Originating in the mysterious orient**, this New York edition of the Internet Yami-Ichi will be the first in the United States and appropriately, the largest yet. Over 100 vendors are slated to participate at the Knockdown Center, a 50,000 square foot former door factory-turned arts space in Maspeth, Queens.

IDPW organized the first Yami-Ichi in Tokyo in 2012, it mutated in 2014 to Berlin, Amsterdam, Brussels, and Sapporo. Past vendor items include glitch-embroidered clothing, Edward Snowden snow globes, and apps rejected by Apple.

There are many artists already participating, but if you want to take part you can find out more here (Deadline: 6 August 2015 - Vendors receive 100% profit from what they sell)

You can find out more about the history of the event in this online presentation here
