Berthe Morisot’s family (45)
Among the orange trees
In the winter of 1881-82, Morisot spent some time in Nice with her family for the first time. They were staying at the Villa Arnulphi, which must have pleased them so much that her husband thought of buying it in 1883.
Ten paintings or so were made during this period, two of them show the Villa Arnulphi among the orange trees.
