fluorescent friends

Could you please write solangelo one-shot where Nico is 'this new emo kid' at school and Will is the first person to actually talk to him and he discoveres that Nico is just a really big nerd. And they talk for hours and everyone else is confused? ❤❤

I have a habit of makinig things longer than they need to be…. enjoy!

Will had gotten tired of the same routine. The same kids at school talking about the same shallow things in the same too-white hallways under too-bright fluorescent lights. He had friends of course, and he enjoyed their company, but he couldn’t help feel bored. The days went by both much too slowly and much too fast for him.

One day in his Physics class, a kid nobody had seen before walked in. It wasn’t new for people to see kids they didn’t know. It was a big school and there were four grades’ worth of kids. Will barely new everyone in his own class. That wasn’t what made this guy stand out.

What made him stand out was the style he chose. The dark clothing, the skull ring, the long, shaggy, messy, raven hair, the seemingly permanent scowl on his face.

“Emo alert,” someone said under their breath. Will rolled his eyes at their ignorance. He turned his attention to his assignment, but couldn’t keep from letting his eyes skirt back to the boy in the black aviator jacket.

He spoke to the teacher quietly for a moment, and everyone else got bored and returned to their gossip. So only Will noticed him walk quietly to the empty lab table behind him. He kept his eyes on his paper. Nervously biting his lip, he tried to turn and at least greet the new kid. But his sudden uncharacteristic timidity prevented him from saying a word.

The bell rang right before Will managed to build up the nerve to say hi. Because he was going to. Really.

He had lunch next and followed his usual group of friends as the boy stayed behind some reason. While he was in the cafeteria, he couldn’t help but think about that new boy.

He had butterflies in his stomach just thinking about the deep brown eyes that skimmed the room almost superiorly. His friends noticed how distant he seemed but they didn’t have a clue why. Will hadn’t even paid attention until the darkly dressed teen walked past them and sat down alone at a further table, causing his friends to pounce.

“He’s so weird, isn’t he?”

“New kid but who knows from where. Looks like the kind that gets into trouble a lot.”

Then the other started singing, “I knew you were trouble when you walked in!” Will rolled his eyes again, letting his gaze drift and settle on him again.

Surprisingly, the chocolatey eyes caught his as they scanned the lunchroom. They looked away just as fast, not thinking much of the stare. He’d probably been getting looks all day. But the next time they skirted over Will, he managed a smile before he looked away, causing the raven haired teen to do a double take. Instead of smiling back, he furrowed his eyebrows and kept his gaze on his food for the rest of lunch.

You should post a picture of yourself

I should! And I have! Kind of. I like making aesthetic moodboards, so when I had a picture spree of myself, I filtered them over like a thousand times and put them into moodboards that I posted on my aesthetic page @better-than-the-divine.

But! I don’t want to force you to go to my shitty aesthetic blog. So here are the moodboards I made of myself!

And this one I never posted:

And my friend @fluorescent-undertow made this one:

My shitty camera makes me look so incredibly pale though. And I didn’t leave my house all winter.

Hiya! Sorry to bother but I was wondering if perhaps I could prompt you? Tis'conpletely fine if not. If by chance, I could, I'd like to ask for a hybrid!AU AHOT6 where, while they were out at a bar or on a heist, it's all fine with me, someone grabbed Gav and started messing with his wings. Gavin Whump and protective and furious boyfriends makes my little heart sing!

t/w: harassment
a/n: oh dear I thought this would be a simple prompt to fill but my need for plot and extra angst/character motivation ran away with me again I’m sorry

“You’re not going back to England,” Geoff says.

Work ended about an hour ago. Now they’re at the bar, the six of them crammed into their usual booth in the corner. Gavin’s squashed between the wall and Ryan, and it’s just cramped enough that he’s struggling to find space for his wings; they’re unbound, which makes it harder to keep them tucked flat against his back.

That combined with the long day they just had is enough to make him crabby, but it’s Geoff’s tone of voice that really sets him off. Something too stern in it. So certain in its chastisement. You’re not going back to England. You’re not.

Lightning Bolt - Live At Earthunder, lathe-cut edition of 6.  I already posted a picture of this and my Mindflayer 6" a while back but I just did new ones for Discogs so I thought I’d share them here too.  I’m adding a vinyl tag to this but it’s not really vinyl.  It’s hand-cut acrylite.  These might still be available from Fluorescent Friends. When I bought mine they weren’t selling.  I was the first buyer.

Nerdy New Kid: Repost.

It wasn’t until school was over that Will saw him again. He was on his bus. And like every other time he’d seen the gloomy kid, he was alone. It seemed he repelled everyone around him. Biting his lip, feeling the adrenaline rush through his veins, Will took a breath and walked toward the back of the bus. He sat down next to him, but he wasn’t acknowledged, seeing as the boy had been looking out the window the whole time.

Once the bus started rolling, the boy looked back at him and Will smiled shyly. “It’s you,” the boy said, furrowing his eyebrows. Will was speechless. His voice was hypnotizing. “You’ve been giving me this look every time you saw me.”

Will opened his mouth but couldn’t form words. He gulped and cleared his throat. “I didn’t mean to be rude. I just wanted to say hi. So… you know… hi.”

“Hi,” he replied suspiciously.

“I’m Will.”

“Nico.” They looked at each other for a while. “Why are you smiling at me?” he asked suddenly.

“Oh, I’m just a smiley person. You’re new, right?” Nico nodded. “Well, could you use a friend?”

That made Nico scoff. “You want to be friends with the emo kid?” Suddenly the bus bounced over a speed bump, causing Nico’s backpack to fall from his lap. Cards spilled out with a shiny letter M. “Crap,” he muttered as he tried to pick them up from where he sat.

Will bent down too, helping him gather the familiar looking cards. “Hey, Mythomagic!” he said with delight. “I love this game!”

“You do?” Nico asked, sounding shocked.

“My favorite card is Apollo.”

Nico rolled his eyes. “Please, Hades is the best card to have. His attack power is insane! And he has enough defense to ward off any attack from other cards as long as it’s not Zeus.”

Will couldn’t help but smile. “Okay, but you have to admit, Apollo’s bow and arrow attack is pretty cool.”

“I have his figurine,” Nico answered, with a new sparkle in his eyes. “I’ve been collecting since I was ten.”

The two of them talked about their card game and experience until their stop came. To their delight, they had the same stop. Nico lived a few houses down the street, and he offered to show his cards and figurines one day.

The next day, at the stop, they greeted each other like old friends. They talked some more about Mythomagic, talked about the new Netflix series coming out for it, and of course about the works of the school. Will told him the shortcuts, and what things he could get away with with what teachers. When they got to school, they walked through the hallways, and the stares didn’t bother Nico as much.

They were opposites, most definitely. Will with his sun kissed skin, sandy, surfer boy hair, bright blue eyes and freckles, then Nico with his pale skin, shaggy and messy black hair, and dark ebony eyes. The day before they hadn’t even looked at each other and now suddenly, they were inseparable. The confusion on the faces of the students made Will want to laugh.

Suddenly, school didn’t seem so boring anymore.

Maka was going to be in time out until college. She was sure of it.

She galloped her way down the cereal aisle, too-big boots clanking across the tile as she continued her one-girl search party for her brother. She had to wonder how she managed to lose Black Star, of all people. Her brother was not a quiet boy and he certainly wasn’t subtle. How he slipped through her grasp was beyond her — and it wasn’t like he blended in with the crowd particularly well either, because he didn’t. Bright blue dyed hair wasn’t something one saw everyday.

Maka scooted away from a rogue grocery cart and found herself canoodling by the registers. If he wasn’t by the jumbo bags of Fruit Loops and he wasn’t gorging himself on the candy bars, then where was he?

She heard a “YAHOO!” and felt her blood run cold. If he was harassing the kind elderly couple they passed in the frozen food section, Maka would be more than grounded — she’d be sent to reform school to repent for her misdeeds.
