• Piper: It’s too early for this shit.
  • Annabeth: Oh my god, neither of those are dinosaurs and there’s 145 million years separating them both, this conversation is a palaeontological disaster

Once you’ve covered the absolute essentials of your target language, you don’t actually have to follow the general path to fluency. By that I mean, if most things say “learn sports vocab next” but you’re not going to talk about sports ever, guess what? Don’t do it! Yes, if you want to be fluent, you’ll have to learn it at some point, but it doesn’t need to be a priority if it doesn’t interest you and you don’t have much of a use for it. I’ve started learning art vocab and country names cause I find that more interesting than other stuff and you’ll just find it much more enjoyable and useful to cover your personal interests

The West Wing | 2x3 | Midterms

BARTLET: I like your show. I like how you call homosexuality an abomination.

JENNA JACOBS: I don’t say homosexuality is an abomination, Mr. President. The Bible does.

BARTLET: Yes, it does. Leviticus.

BARTLET: Chapter and verse. I wanted to ask you a couple of questions while I had you here. I’m interested in selling my youngest daughter into slavery as sanctioned in Exodus 21:7. She’s a Georgetown sophomore, speaks fluent Italian, and always clears the table when it was her turn. What would a good price for her be? While thinking about that, can I ask another? My Chief of Staff, Leo McGarry, insists on working on the Sabbath. Exodus 35:2 clearly says he should be put to death. Am I morally obligated to kill him myself or is it okay to call the police? Here’s one that’s really important, ‘cause we’ve got a lot of sports fans in this town. Touching the skin of a dead pig makes us unclean, Leviticus 11:7. If they promise to wear gloves, can the Washington Redskins still play football? Can Notre Dame? Can West Point? Does the whole town really have to be together to stone my brother, John, for planting different crops side by side? Can I burn my mother in a small family gathering for wearing garments made from two different threads?

Am I the only one who is bothered by everyone asking BTS about making a fully English album? We don’t ask English speaking artists to make albums in Korean (or any other language), so why ask them?

For a group that only one member speaks fluent English, we should we happy that they use English in most (if not all) songs. Plus, they are releasing an English version of Mic Drop and said more English versions of songs will be on the way.

I get wanting songs in English so it’s easier to understand or whatever, but they are Koreans who make K-Pop.

here is this week’s spread ft. milk and honey & my lovely kånken (°◡°♡) i just realised i’ve been learning swedish for almost a year now?? although i’m far from being fluent, i’ve had a great time learning the language♡

I have a new idea about the picture where victor is eating chocolate during the interview: could it be that victor didn't speak English at that point or at least englisch that would have been good enough for international interviews ? I know that a lot of Russian schools don't teach English

It’s possible! And it would make sense why he looks so bored lmaooo

let-steph-sleep  asked:

🔥 about Bts making English songs? I saw so many opinions my head hurts ajskksk but I wanna know yours

Like american awards shows, i don’t get it.

They are korean artists, they got popular with their korean songs and korean awards.

I think we should concentrate on the korean side of things (awards, albums, etc). Like look at MAMA, we are lacking.

I like America, i really do, but english is not the only language in the world. You will force none fluent boys to learn and sing english for your own desire ? Stupid.

And as someone said “Music is an international language.”

Send me a “ 🔥 “ for an unpopular opinion. Bonus points if you include a topic.

honestly the funniest fucking thing to me is when interviewers act like they’re above bts just because they live in america and speak fluent english when bts has literally done more than they have in the past year alone like,, stop trying to look down on people who are clearly more accomplished than U sweaty..it’s an ugly look

anonymous asked:

How do you spell “Love yourself” in Korean?? I’m wanting a tattoo and can’t figure it out

Mmm… I’m not fluent enough to tell you something that’ll be on your body permanently. Please to try to find a native speaker who can help you. Maybe head over to the Korean subreddit to ask there.

Story prompt: anti is the only one of Jack's egos that's allergic to cats. He hides it pretty well, but then Marvin finds a stray. Bonus points if Anti glitches wildly instead of sneezing.

I’m actually not fluent in Jack’s egos. I know like, bare minimum of details about Anti, and the others are a total mystery to me.
I reblog SepticEgos stuff cause I’m trying to understand them.
Hey! If there’s a playlist for Jack’s egos out there, send it my way? I reeaally wanna become fluent in Jack’s egos, as well as the Sanders sides, I think they’re called?

okay listen up y’all

bts is and remains a kpop group that means they sing and perform in korean

they all come from different regions from korea and korean is their native language, the language they grew up speaking and the language they’re all undoubtedly fluent in

the language they know how to use to write such beautiful lyrics

so please, stop asking for english singles!!!

Hobi’s VLive Stream

First of all, I haven’t been able to watch any live streams in ages so this was my first one in a while and I really enjoyed listening to him talk and just be Hoseok. However I forgot just how rude some fans can be, and this goes for all fandoms.

There are like 4 main rules that are so easy to follow and yet people still make things so uncomfortable:

1.) Don’t ask for other members! It’s so fucking rude. Imagine if you were on the phone with your parents but they kept asking about your siblings and could care less about you.

2.) Don’t ask them to speak English especially if they aren’t fluent. First of all, it’s rude af. Secondly, if it bothers you that much I can recommend some Korean tutors. Finally, if they feel more comfortable talking in their native language and/or dialect let them.

3.) Don’t be an ass and annoy people by spamming the chat. I promise one day your oppa or unnie will notice you, but don’t continuously block others words of love and questions so you can get a second of glory.

4.) Finally, don’t be disgusting. I witnessed several people calling Hoseok Daddy, making inappropriate comments, and then even posting nude photos (which were reported). It makes you the lowest scum of the earth and it’s not cute.

All in all I enjoyed watching the stream, but some people almost ruined it for me. If you’re going to act like that, do the world a favor and delete your app until you can act mature enough. That being said Hoseok truly warmed my heart tonight and I’m glad he did his VLive.

Age: 17
Country: Australia

Hey everyone!
My name’s Luce (well, it’s a nickname, Internet anonymity y'know) and I’m a 17 year old female from Australia.
I found Penship a while ago and have always thought the idea of having a penpal was pretty cool, so I thought hey, why the heck not?
In terms of my interests, I’m a writer at heart, and I enjoy coming up with my own stories and sharing them with others on occasion. I’m also a huge nerd who’s into world history/politics, the Eurovision Song Contest, various high fantasy and urban fantasy books, video games (the main obsessions being Overwatch and Pokemon) and an assortment of anime, webcomics and cartoons.
I speak fluent English and some half-decent Japanese (I’m still learning, so forgive me if I make any mistakes), but I’m always up for learning new languages, so if you speak another language and am happy to teach me, I’d be down to learn!
I’m not usually the most social person, but I’ve been pushing the boundaries of my comfort zones this year and am willing to put myself out there and meet some awesome people!

Preferences: Someone aged 15-20 preferably, no preference for gender or country. Please be LGBTQ+ friendly, and don’t be racist/sexist/ableist either! I am autistic and would prefer if you don’t make rude comments about myself or other disabled people, thank you.
I’d prefer if we talked online since I have terrible handwriting and no money for stamps.

anonymous asked:

so you don't know korean...

??? I essentially said I do but I’m nowhere near fluent. “knowing” is not black and white… It takes a long time to be fluent. Of course I don’t know every single thing they say. There are many people who are learning who don’t know every single thing they say but can still understand them.

foxxi-paradoxxi  asked:

Once you get this you have to say five things you like about yourself, publicly. Then, you have to send this to ten of your favourite followers.

thank you for sending this to me ♥♥

1. I sometimes makes jokes and people laugh so I like that

2. uhh.. I like my nose it’s tiny and squishy (I’m so weird)

3. I can run really fast

4. I am afraid of talking in public but somehow can magically do it at the last moment

5. I can speak 5 languages (not very fluent but yeah)

this was so hard to do without sounding narcissistic welp
