“One acrobatic somersault, one quick midair extraction of a sword from the umbrella’s handle, and four slashes/thrusts of her blade later, and the men have been cut down in a blood-spurting floral pattern splayed out like a Payback Bouquet in the snow. “Who the hell are you?” asks the dying crime boss. But we already sense the answer from Meiko Kaji’s commanding presence, a glare that communicates how much evil she has seen and how much more she is willing to do… .
Is it any wonder that Quentin Tarantino loved the poker-faced delirium of this film so much?”

Akatsuki had a wide network. It was a fact that Uchiha Itachi would point out to Jiraiya very clearly every time they met, and one that the toad-sannin would never be completely aware of. They had contacts everywhere – even amongst the most trusted members of the Hokage’s board. Or, more specifically, one contact. But she was the best they could have. She was Haruno Sakura.

Someone asked me for the #1 song that I used for writing grief/sad/death scenes, and that is without a doubt The Lonely Shepherd from Kill Bill~ ★
This song can fit into A LOT of different moods/themes. Here are some scenarios I’ve used this song for:
The protagonist is all alone, and they reflect on their choices
A character is dying in the arms of their lover
The master battles the apprentice
The lovers are reunited
The rebel is executed by the empire
The enemy army can be seen in the distance
A character discovers their life has been a lie
And many more! I can’t really say that the whole Kill Bill soundtrack is awesome, I really only like about 3 songs from the whole batch (The Grand Duel, The Flower of Carnage, and The Lonely Shepherd) but this song is, without a doubt, a mainstay in my ‘Musical Survival Playlist’!
