Fishermen totally had it right when it came to dressing for the cold. Heavy wools and chunky knits with a super masculine and outdoorsy feel - what’s not to love? For this outfit I drew some inspiration from the heritage fisherman aesthetic and made it work with my wardrobe. I started with a heavyweight wool turtleneck over a denim shirt and added on a plaid wool jacket for a textured and layered workwear look. Loose jeans with frayed hems and a classic fisherman style fitted beanie finish off the outfit and keep it looking relaxed and rugged. So how do you feel about adopting the fisherman look this winter?

"A marriage between Florsheim, a century old American footwear brand, and Duckie Brown, one of the most fashion forward designer menswear brands, may seem like an unlikely couple at first glance. However, a shared appreciation for tradition and quality is the common ground that unites this partnership.
Duckie Brown features our collaboration as their footwear of choice for their seasonal runway shows during New York Fashion Week. Share your favorite Florsheim by Duckie Brown NYFW style for a chance to win a $500 Florsheim gift card!“
In the colder months, dressing in darker, subdued hues tends to seem pretty natural given the shorter, darker days but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t put some effort in injecting pops of color into your winter wardrobe. If pastels and neons are for spring/summer, then warm, rich colors should be their winter counterparts. For this outfit I paired a deep purple turtleneck with warm ochre trousers and a muted olive green peacoat. The richness of the pants and sweater definitely make a bold statement, so that’s why I chose to wear a more neutral-colored jacket to tone down the look and make it more sophisticated.
