More protest flamenco taking banks by storm! Here they’ve taken the music of the classic song el vivo muerto and put lyrics about the mortgage crisis to it with a dance.

Below is a translation of the lyrics (not a good translation. translating is an art in itself if you didn’t know…so yeah, when you read it you’ll say ‘sounds better in spanish’)

To my friend Banco Santander

they paid a salary

And without thinking twice,

they went out and wasted it

a couple years of squander

and now let the people pay

If you don’t pay them for your home

you’ll end up homeless

And here there’s no crisis, no no!

And here there’s no crisis, no no!

And here there’s no crisis, no no!

Here there’s just a lot of chutzpah!

And here there’s no crisis, no no!

Terrific, terrific, terrific…

But at the end of a couple of years

of making themselves the winners

credit and mortgages they no longer gave without caution

The bank was screwed for having exaggerated

but they didn’t forgive the debt

nor to workers or the unemployed

And here there’s no crisis, no no!

And here there’s no crisis, no no!

And here there’s no crisis, no no!

Here there’s just a lot of chutzpah!

But one day they uncovered

the false Spanish dream

based in cement, lies, debt and speculation

the mess that was formed

was just a pure hoax

that they want to fix with reductions and taxes

That’s not Crisis

It’s called capitalism!

I renounce money

and the man who invented it

greed is leaving a wound that won’t close

May the earth swallow it!
