Do you know what the most beautiful sound is?
You know when you’ve been crying and he tries to cheer you up but you’re still so upset and you make that noise, that laughing noise that isn’t really a laugh? It’s like a hybrid of a laugh and a cry. You smile, and the noise forces itself strangled from your throat and tears are falling again but he’s trying and you’re trying and you love him and yes you are crying but you’re smiling, too.

Do you know what the most beautiful sight is?
When you were all alone and you didn’t need the lonely sex, you needed a friend. So you called him up and he said he was sleeping and one hour later you were at his door. He said he was sleeping. He opened the door, wrapped in nothing but a duvet. His hair was ridiculous, in dire need of a chop as it darted out in every which direction and his glasses were lopsided. But he was beautiful and he was trying and you couldn’t try but you didn’t need to because you loved him then and he loved you and he let you need him.

Do you know what the most beautiful scent is?
You’re not really sure. You could never ask him what cologne he was wearing or he’d think you were weird. But it was beautiful, and it filled you with comfort when he stood close enough. And he always stood close enough.

Do you know what the most beautiful feeling is?
When you’re standing so close to him. When you’re standing too close to him and you can smell it but you don’t want to ask. You’re standing so close to him but he still can’t hear you, so you put one hand on his chest and one on his neck. And he bends down to whisper in your ear. He’s always been so kind to you, you’re not surprised by the warmth of his breath. It feels like the wind, it feels like the love.

Do you know what the most beautiful taste is?
No, you don’t. He’s your best friend. You could never know what the most beautiful taste is. You can look, you can touch you can smell but you can never have a taste of what it feels like for him to more than just love you. He’s your best friend.

Five Senses

Everything you are is beauty to me.
You are the sweet sounds of a soft melody.
You are the taste of salt on my lips
and the kiss of sunlight on my cheeks
after a long day at the beach.
You are the lingering smell of flowers
in a garden full of colors, as the wind
carries its fragrance through the air
and settles softly along my skin.
You are a majestic painting,
abstract and strong, making you
wonder the meaning behind it,
giving you a sense of calm.
You are all kinds of beautiful things
that make this world extraordinary,
but my favorite thing you are
is my forever love.

Steve has many annoying quirks.  Given the smallest opportunity, Danny will elaborate on them at length to anybody who asks - and even to those who don’t if he’s feeling particularly spirited.

The truth is, though, that Steve is as endearing as hell.  He’s loveable, loving, a jumbled up mess of vulnerable badass sweetheart, and Danny loves him deeply.

He’s also a complete and total goof in bed.  Oh, he’s great in bed - they’re great in bed, thank you very much - but once the show’s over, he turns into a hilarious lump of limbs, pleased as punch to be naked and satisfied.  He loves a good snuggle, and, really, Danny is more than happy to oblige.

“You’re a goof,” he says, smiling when Steve draws him in, closer, tighter, warmer.  Oh yeah.  This is some tip-top snuggling, this is.

I’m a goof?” Steve harrumphs, stretches out a kink in his back before relaxing back into the mattress.  “I’m not the one who told Charlie about my time-outs.”

“Hey!  It’s not like I gave him specifics.  What do you take me for?”

Danny rolls his eyes.  “Still, nothing.  I made it sound like I put you in a cardboard box in the corner for 30 minutes, not that I-”

“-strip me naked in 5 seconds flat?  Have your wicked way with me?  Cunningly use to your advantage the fact that I like a good catnap after sex, and if I’m asleep then I can’t be blowing anything up?”

“Well I don’t see you complaining,” Danny responds, poking a finger into Steve’s side.

Steve captures the finger, lifts it up for a kiss.  “Of course not.  I love my time-outs.”

nicest badass (a list for my soft but powerful faves): Lorelai Gilmore

“I’m lucky, I know. I just…I feel like I’m never gonna have it…the whole package, you know? That person, that couple life, and I swear, I hate admitting it because I fancy myself Wonder Woman, but…I really want it – the whole package.“

(You're the most relevant person in the ScriptX family for this, I think, but if you think it'd be better aimed at someone else, let me know and I'll ask them instead.) What does a snapped neck /feel/ like for whoever is checking the body (the coroner, the boyfriend who just woke up, whoever)? Like, I imagine that there's something NOT RIGHT about how it moves, but what sort of NOT RIGHT are we talking here?

Hey there! There are a couple of things you’re looking for when you palpate (feel) a spine. I’m assuming this is a post-mortem.

First, when bones are broken and you touch them, they tend to grind together a little bit, which can be felt by an outsider through the skin. This is a phenomenon called crepitus, and we would chart it as such: “Crepitus noted at C6 and C7 vertebrae”.

Now, when you say snapped, I’m not entirely sure what you’re talking about. A vertical “snapping”, basically a hyperextension of the neck? I assume you’re more talking about a hyperrotation issue that caused a spinal cord injury.

There would likely be some crepitus, and something we call “step-down”, where instead of being in a normal, natural progression, a bone is out of place and there’s, well, a step.

Ultimately it might feel “crunchy” under the skin, with pieces grinding against each other. An untrained person is pretty much just going to yank their hand back really quickly at that point. Even for pros, they may find it unpleasant and distasteful, but a necessary part of their job.
