fitness commitment

There’s a difference between interest and commitment. When you’re interested in doing something, you do it only when it’s convenient. When you’re committed to something, you accept no excuses - only results. -Ken Blanchard

Commitment means staying loyal to what you said you were going to do long after the mood you said it in has left you. -Unknown

Commitment leads to action. Action brings your dream closer. -Marcia Wieder.

Commitment is the glue that bonds you to your Goals. -Jill Koenig.

Stress is what will lower your grade, stop you achieving, prevent you from doing what you love and so much more. Stress is poison to the human mind, do not let stress rule you. Take a minute, take a walk, take time out, but always bring yourself back into the game. Do not let stress win, keep going.

It’s been a little rough

Wow. These past few weeks have been rough to say the least. After I finished the 28-day reset I went completely off the rails. That binge spree lasted for about two weeks, but now I need to get it together. My big beach trip with my friends is coming up in April and I want to look FIERCE.

*send some wishes for extra commitment my way pleaseeeeee*

“Grantaire was a man who took great care not to believe anything. He was actually one of the students who had learned most during their stay in Paris; he knew the best coffee was at Café Lemblin, and the best billiard table at Café Voltaire. […] He knew the good places for everything; beyond that, boxing, tennis, some dances, and he was a knowledgeable cudgel player. To top it off, a great drinker. “

2 years in . . . .

February 20th marks two years since I’ve started to try and be more committed to fitness and healthy living.

There’s no denying I’m smaller - although I have no idea how much weight I’ve lost - but the thing I’m grateful for today is the mental fortitude I’ve gained.  Last year was rough - I felt continuously battered both mentally and emotionally.  Having exercise as a staple of my routine really gave me a outlet for that incredible stress I felt.  I’m honestly not sure how I would have gotten through it without that.

For everyone out there just starting out, or over, or going through a time of struggle (aren’t we all?) I just want to remind you that you’ve got to remember that you’re in this for the long haul.  Things didn’t change for me in a day, or a week, or even a couple of months but very gradually over a lot of time.

Be consistent and flexible.  Persevere.  But most importantly, but gentle and good to yourself.  It will be hard and it will take a long time, but you can do it - I promise.

Here’s to the next year!

Chloe deserves better than Lucifer. I'm just sick and tired of female characters just being abandoned and strung along by men because the men run off and have hissy fits or have commitment issues, then they come crawling back and beg for forgiveness and the women forgive them even though they've just broken their hearts. I just wished Lucifer had told Chloe that he couldn't be with her instead of not replaying making Chloe go on a wild goose chase just to find out the man she loved got married.

put your heart and soul into it

Whatever you’ve been putting off doing, do it. Do it now, start your destiny today. Monty had such a sense of urgency through his life, Burnie remarked it may of been his realisation of how little time we really have.

So channel your inner Monty, and go full steam ahead on whatever you’re doing (or procrastinating). Knowing he would have contributed to us becoming better people would make him so proud.

Driving home I had a bizarre thought.

The War Boys are scarred with engine parts because they believe those materials are the only things that can be repaired in the Wasteland, yet we don’t see any of them with their limbs replaced with prosthetics.  Furiosa has no scarification, no tattoos that we can see, yet she has this masterwork of metal on her left arm, tailor made for her body, to replace what she lost.

The War Boys were only worthy of the dream of being ‘repaired’.  The idea of being ‘fixed’.  Furiosa is the only person we see, other than Joe and his sons, who is actually ‘repaired’.  It’s no wonder she was so revered.  I so want to know what she did to earn that status, but we may never know.

This is also another striking mirror to how society works.  Only the very tip top are allowed to have the dream.  The wandering, faceless people underneath only get the pictures, the magazine clippings, the fantasy, but never the real thing.  It is promised, but almost never obtained.
